  1. Pete Thamel, who has been Quinn's media mouthpiece since he came to Texas (and maybe before but I wasn't paying attention), said on Gameday this morning that there was "growing optimisim" that he'd be back next week.
  2. Texas 31 K-State 30 K-State 201 punt yards
  3. i get the impression that sark isn't terribly fond of chip brown..
  4. michigan @ penn state has already been selected for big noon by fox next week. my guess is we get a night time kick for tcu (and probably for iowa state too). anything the conference can do to increase the likelihood of a texas loss.
  5. 6. Texas has little trouble disposing of BYU 35-6. Next up, a tough test against #25 Kansas State - this Saturday, 11:00am at DKR.
  7. i'll sign up for this right now. thank you.
  8. i am so glad i stuck with this thread and didn't miss the robert horry as the most talented bball player of all time take. that may be the most hilarious thing i've ever read on this board.
  9. that's how i see it too. next week, he needs to settle for the fg's (frustrating as it may be). but there was a 0% chance that byu was gonna drive the length of the field and score on us so i don't mind him working on finding solutions to our redzone issues in a real game situation.
  10. brett mcmurphy posted that texas opened as a 7 point favorite for what it's worth.
  11. game of the year for our horns. win and everything is still in front of them. lose and no cfp, likely no conference championship, and a possibility that the wheels may fall off for the remainder of the season. i expect an intense slugfest. hope we can come out on top.
  12. lot of stupid motherfuckers on this site who preferred maalik to quinn.
  13. jabari smith is going to have victor wembanyama nightmares
  14. Texas 31 BYU 20 31 pass attempts, 256 yards
  15. The new season tipoffs tonight and the Rockets were certainly active over the summer, adding in a respected head coach and a couple of veteran starters to bring some experience to the young core. Projected startig lineup: PG - Fred Van Vleet SG - Jalen Green SF - Dillon Brooks PF - Jabari Smith C - Alperen Sengun On paper, it's an intriguing group. How well they mesh together remains to be seen. The western conference looks pretty deep this year and the Rockets could be an improved team but still find themselves at the bottom of the standings. They owe their pick to OKC if it doesn't fall in the top four so there is not much reason to purposely want to lose this year. The Vegas win total was set at 31.5. I'll say they finish slightly better than that and go 36-46. Probably not good enough for the play-in tournament but if they can get the young guys some expereince in some games that actually matter in the second half of the season and the young guys look like they belong, I'll consider it a good start to phase 2 of the rebuild. Game 1 is tonight at 6:00 in Orlando. Go Rockets!
  16. Here is Week 9. I think it's a pretty solid poll with the exception that I think some of you have Penn State way too high. Rank Team Record Points 1 Florida State (2) (7-0) 140 2 Ohio State (1) (8-0) 137 3 Michigan (3) (8-0) 136 4 Washington (7-0) 134 5 Georgia (7-0) 132 6 Oklahoma (7-0) 125 7 Texas (6-1) 115 T8 Alabama (7-1) 105 T8 Oregon (6-1) 105 10 Penn State (6-1) 88 11 Oregon State (6-1) 86 12 Ole Miss (6-1) 82 13 Utah (6-1) 77 14 Notre Dame (6-2) 73 15 Missouri (7-1) 62 16 LSU (6-2) 61 17 North Carolina (6-1) 53 18 Louisville (6-1) 43 19 Duke (5-2) 36 20 Air Force (7-0) 32 21 Tulane (6-1) 25 22 USC (6-2) 24 23 Kansas State (5-2) 19 24 UCLA (5-2) 16 25 James Madison (7-0) 12 Others receiving votes: Miami (11), Clemson (7), Rutgers (6), Tennessee (4), Fresno State (3), Iowa (2)
  17. reading between the lines, it doesn't sound like Sark expects Quinn to be out for a really long time. maybe he's back for TCU at the latest?
  18. they are "more than hopeful" that Ryan Watts will be back this week.
  19. Quinn and Ethan Burke are "week to week" Edit - Catalon too.
