  1. I think the UTEP game broke his spirit. it came damn close to breaking mine. plus, as mentioned, this has been a really weird start to the season with the way the nonconference schedule was set up. I think a lot of us are in wait and see mode right now and are hoping we see something tomorrow that gets us all back in the swing of things.
  2. was it because that was a moronic statement?
  3. I've had that same thought about this game all week long.
  4. so what are the chances the swamp is only 60-70% full due to bad weather and pure apathy?
  5. We are somehow only 3 weeks away from the start of the NBA season and our Rockets should be one of the better teams in the league. Obviously, Fred Van Vleet's injury sort of dampens things going in to the season, but the Rockets still have a chance to be as good as anyone in the league outside of OKC. Amen Thompson, Alperen Sengun, Jabari Smith, and Tari Eason are all a year older and Thompson & Sengun look like they could be perennial All-Star's. Did I mention that Kevin Motherfucking Durant now plays for the Rockets? The regular season tips off on 10/21 @ OKC - which just so also happens to be the return of the NBA on NBC: Let's fucking go!
  6. listening through her new album right now and it's pretty damn good. definitely better than i was expecting it to be.
  7. SEC are still fine for now, though i seriously doubt it's those four exact teams. BIG looks extremely likely. Maybe add Indiana to that group. ACC - remove Clemson obviously. If Miami beats FSU this week, the ACC could very well be a one bid league Big 12 - ASU is still in contention, though not the favorite. Independent - lots of people thinkin ND is in at 10-2. we'll see. still a long way to go to get there. Group of 5 - looks like Memphis now has pole position. Gotta think this is gonna be the American conference champ
  8. it must have happened though, OTF has this:
  9. i tried to watch but the app would play half an ad and then reset every time i tried to play it.
  10. #9 Texas comes off a bye week and it feels like the real season is finally beginning with SEC play kicking off. The Horns will travel to Gainesville for a 2:30pm kickoff on ESPN against the reeling (1-3) and offensively challenged Florida Gators.
  11. stop picking the same team as me every week.
  12. shit, his current coaches have games where they barely give him the ball (see weeks 1 and 3 of this current season). edit - even today he only had 5 carries in the second half.
  13. that's a bit of an upset. even with FSU losing on Friday night, their game against Miami is still probably the game of the week.
  14. Ole Miss has been pretty strong in the portal. Agreed that it's easier to recruit high schoolers to Florida, but if Ole Miss is going to be one of the key players in the portal every year maybe that's a wash?
  15. Oh yeah, Auburn could also come open. They still have Georgia, Missouri, Vandy, and Bama. Only Vandy is on the road, but their offense is dogshit and probably won't score more than 20 against any of the three that are at home.
  16. Agreed. Aside from a higher salary, which obviously isn't nothing, what does Florida have to offer Kiffin that he doesn't already have at Ole Miss?
  17. TCU either. In fact, I think all of these teams are pretty solid. I bet none of them finish worse than 8-4 and the only coach who is in any sort of trouble with that record this year is Kelly and the reason LSU is unlikely to move on from him this year has already been covered.
  18. I think as long as Arch has his head on straight, this should be a fairly sound, if at time ugly, Texas win. I don't see the Florida offense doing much at all if they aren't gifted great field position via turnover or dumbass special teams stuff. I'm not sure whether or not Shipley is worth a shit as a kicker yet, so maybe we get some data points (one way or the other) in this game. I'm thinking this will end up somewhere around 24-13 Texas at the end of the game. Survive and advance to the next one. With the possible exception of Miami, no one looks truly dominant thus far this year.
  19. yeah, this board is so super active right now that it makes no sense to make a new topic for this as opposed to burying it in a 50+ page metathread that i'm sure we all check in on daily.
  20. holy shit with all of these blocked field goals
  21. oh i have no doubt this will be the most volume one of these threads has done so far this year.
  22. I'm not really in the mood for all the pomp and circumstances this week. Coach Sark will speak to the media at 11:30 today and I can't imagine that anything he has to say will make us feel any better about where things appear to stand right now.
