  1. stop picking the same team as me every week.
  2. shit, his current coaches have games where they barely give him the ball (see weeks 1 and 3 of this current season). edit - even today he only had 5 carries in the second half.
  3. that's a bit of an upset. even with FSU losing on Friday night, their game against Miami is still probably the game of the week.
  4. Ole Miss has been pretty strong in the portal. Agreed that it's easier to recruit high schoolers to Florida, but if Ole Miss is going to be one of the key players in the portal every year maybe that's a wash?
  5. Oh yeah, Auburn could also come open. They still have Georgia, Missouri, Vandy, and Bama. Only Vandy is on the road, but their offense is dogshit and probably won't score more than 20 against any of the three that are at home.
  6. Agreed. Aside from a higher salary, which obviously isn't nothing, what does Florida have to offer Kiffin that he doesn't already have at Ole Miss?
  7. TCU either. In fact, I think all of these teams are pretty solid. I bet none of them finish worse than 8-4 and the only coach who is in any sort of trouble with that record this year is Kelly and the reason LSU is unlikely to move on from him this year has already been covered.
  8. I think as long as Arch has his head on straight, this should be a fairly sound, if at time ugly, Texas win. I don't see the Florida offense doing much at all if they aren't gifted great field position via turnover or dumbass special teams stuff. I'm not sure whether or not Shipley is worth a shit as a kicker yet, so maybe we get some data points (one way or the other) in this game. I'm thinking this will end up somewhere around 24-13 Texas at the end of the game. Survive and advance to the next one. With the possible exception of Miami, no one looks truly dominant thus far this year.
  9. yeah, this board is so super active right now that it makes no sense to make a new topic for this as opposed to burying it in a 50+ page metathread that i'm sure we all check in on daily.
  10. holy shit with all of these blocked field goals
  11. oh i have no doubt this will be the most volume one of these threads has done so far this year.
  12. I'm not really in the mood for all the pomp and circumstances this week. Coach Sark will speak to the media at 11:30 today and I can't imagine that anything he has to say will make us feel any better about where things appear to stand right now.
  13. he's only averaging 8.2 ypc - why should he be on the field on 3rd and 1?
  14. i ended up passing out before the fight last night, but was able to watch it this morning without having the result spolied. what a fucking performance from Bud. I thought Canelo would be too big for him, but that wasn't an issue at any point during the fight. just an absolute masterclass. it almost felt as if everyone on the broadcast was hoping he'd retire after that, but i sure as shit hope he fights again. he is my absolute favorite guy to watch and he always delivers.
  15. i don't think there is a way to buy back in to this one. i'd be all for it, but i'm not sure espn allows it. i'm going through my records of payments and it looks like the only one i need to know about is Hook 1997. whoever that is, can you let me know if you paid?
  16. oh i agree. p4p, Bud is better than Canelo. I just cant see him going up 3 weight classes from his best weight and beating Canelo at his best weight. I think I say it on this thread every time he fights, but I don't think there is a fighter on the planet whose natural weight class is 168 or below that can beat Canelo.
  17. yeah it should be a fun night. i can't see Bud beating Canelo, but it'd be awesome if he did.
  18. there was a time when you could trust things that were posted on twitter but then elon came along and FUBARED that, so who knows whether or not this is legit:
  19. Texas 48 UTEP 6 288 WR yards from scrimmage
  20. i've done a terrible job keeping up with payments i have received over the past week, but rest assured if you sent it to me i'm sure i have it. I am traveling today and tomorrow and will try and update my list to ensure that everyone in the contest has paid for it by the middle of this week at the latest. if you are in the pool and haven't paid, let me know how you want to do so and i will get you the info. @TexasGary I will send you Paypal info right now.
  21. Texas 55 SJSU 12 238 yards rushing.
  22. i didn't see this last week, but have little bit of proof i am not doing this with week 1 results facotred in here: SEC: Texas over Bama (obviously i'd change Bama out for someone else knowing what I know now) BIG: Ohio State over Penn State ACC: Clemson over Miami Big 12: Arizona State over Kansas State (another I would change with a couple of not so great data points already in their column) SEC Playoff Teams: Texas, Bama, Georgia, LSU BIG Playoff Teams: Ohio State, Penn State, Oregon ACC Playoff Teams: Clemson, Miami Big 12 Playoff Team: Arizona State Independent: Notre Dame Group of 5: Haven't thought much about it, give me Tulane. If I could do it over after week 1, I would remove Alabama. Everyone else I still feel very good about.
  23. Texas goes in to Columbus, strgulles to do much offensively until the 4th quarter, and drops the season opener by a final score of 14-7. Next up, the home opener against San Jose State. Saturday at 11:00am on ABC (Sorry, couldn't find a lot of quality SJSU cheerleading pics this morning).
  24. I thought Liona Lefau was outstanding yesterday. Love having that guy in the burnt orange. Outside of him, Graceson Littleton, Jack Endries, and Jack Bouwmeester all played very well. Really, pretty much everyone on the defense played well. Liked what I saw from Cedric Baxter in his first game back from injury too. We pleasently surprised by the OL as well. Arch was obviously not good, but the TD pass to Livingstone and the long pass to Endries were both really good throws. I was stunned he missed so badly on the first throw to Moore. The biggest area of concern coming out the game is the team's inability to score instead the 10 yard line against elite competition.
