  1. so we're already up to 5 nationally televised games. nice.
  2. yep - the 2026 sqaud is going to be absolutely loaded. kind of wild that we're preseason #1 this year and are still a year away from being the best version of this group of players.
  3. playing the lakers on christmas day too. definitey going to be more nationally televised rockets games this year.
  4. i almost included the second half of season 3 - the final three episodes are all outstanding and yes, most of the season is fantastic. i just thought it started a bit slow (betty's dad storyline, betty giving birth storyline) compared to seasons 4 & 5. it's really just picking nits not including it. Unrealated to that, but something I just thought of now that I'm thinking about the show again, Don returning to the office in season 7 is such an awesome small scene that really captures the tension he had to be feeling. Very easy to put yourself in his shoes there thanks to the intercutting between him thinking about it and then actually doing it and the excellent, excellent score that accompanies it:
  5. I finished up my rewatch a couple of weeks back. I had seen seasons 1-4 a million times, and 5 a few, but don't think I had ever rewatched seasons 6 or 7 after they originally aired so there was definitely some stuff I didn't remember. For instance, I didn't really remember how bad and unlikable Don got in season 6. I still was on his side for most things, but man he was a complete asshole at certain times. But man oh man it was still so satisfying when he ultimately defeated Jim Cutler at the end of the first part of season 7. "The Strategy" and "Waterloo" might just be the two strongest back to back episodes the series ever did. I also remember being initially offput by Don's little adventure at the very end of the series, but on a second watch, it made complete narrative sense. McCann was indeed a soulless "sausage factory" as Don called it back in season 3 and I can definitely see Don saying "fuck this" and getting out. In fact, I kind of hate that the final scene implies that he ultimately went back. I wish we could get some sort of epilogue season where it showed that Don went back, did the Coke thing, and ultimately left and just did something else with his life. Overall, I think seasons 4-5 were the show at it's absolute peak, but the whole thing is a fucking masterpiece.
  6. trump kicking him was my biggest lol moment of the episode, even though i saw it coming a mile away.
  7. i don't know if this has already been posted in this mess of a thread, but i came across this on twitter:
  8. oh, this thread added multiple pages over the past 24 hours for exactly the reason you'd think it would happen.
  9. i'm choosing to believe the two players Bobby referenced are Trenton Henderson and Malakai Lee.
  10. i'm assuming they'll scrimmage next Saturday and the following Saturday? feels like thats how they typically do things.
  11. needed a new hat for the season so i ordered this one from Last Stand Hats:
  12. this reads like @satyanash fan fiction
  13. i recently rewatched Mad Men from start to finish. watched the finale last week. Such an incredible series. i've started a Bojack Horseman rewatch. i never actaully watched the final season. I'm only halfway through season 1 so no way will I be done before football season.
  14. I'm not terribly concerend about any unit on the team, but if I had to rank the areas that I'm the most hesitant about going into the season, I think I would rank them: 1. Offensive Line - they are certainly talented, but it's hard for me to believe that we'll just replace 4 starters (call it 3.5 if you want to give Goosby credit for starting some of the most important games last year and playing well in those starts) without some sort of issues. 2. Secondary - again, I like the talent we have back there but it's hard for me to believe that we can lose Jahdae and Mukuba and just keep churning along without any issues. This is offset by the fact that I expect the front 7 to be spectacular and not allow opposing QB's much time to operate. 3. Running Backs - not super concerned, but i think the ceiling for the room overall depends upon the health of CJ Baxter. 4. Defensive Tackles - really not concerend at all. Every year we worry about the DT's we have to replace and every year it feels like the the DT's perform just as well as the guys they are replacing. And again any worries about DT's is immediately offset by how deep and explosive the other positions in the front 7 will be. This is going to be a very stacked team that doesn't have many warts. We are officially at the point where we are a true football factory and should just keep churing out great players to replace departing great players each year.
  15. i'm afraid this is going to be universal to every public institution in a red state. some will jump in more willingly than others, but this looks to be the direction things are heading.
  16. They comped Benjamin to Earl Thomas on Coffee and Football one day this week. If the comps are Earl or Mathieu, then yes he should absolutely be a top priority for Texas and he'd immediately become my favorite player in the class if he committed.
  17. that was the cherry on top of the sundae. so freaking good.
  18. just looked at the field for the Maui Invitational this year. doesn't seem to be nearly as loaded as it typically is.
  19. most things that haven't been relevant for over 20 years are given $1.5 billion, correct?
  20. i was going to say something harsher, but decided that i'll just say that he got the reception he deserved in his final wwe appearance:
