  1. Gotta get the agreement and money up front. After the fact there is zero incentive for them to pay a dime. About 8 years ago I needed a new fence all around. I pointedly did not build the section where the neighbors refused to share the cost. Why? Because I knew I’d never get paid.
  2. Was told at one store that everything would be out, with limit 1 on hard to find bottles. Not sure how they enforce? Was told at another store that the really rare bites would still be on an ask-for-it basis, but they are trying to throw the professional hunters off the scent with the policy. Gives them plausible deniability...
  3. Anybody with Orangebloods access that would post Anwar Richardson’s post from today? Saw a teaser on Twitter that looked interesting.
  4. I’m sipping the Uncle Nearest right now. I know it’s 2/3 hype and the juice is sourced but damn it’s tasty.
  5. Also drinking mules, but using them as a way to get rid of the very overpriced bottle of Still Austin batch 2 swill I was convinced to buy to support the local startup..
  6. I bought a bottle of Balmohrea, haven’t opened yet. I usually say no to Garrison Bros for the same reason you stated - price seems high for what it is. Succumbed to the hyped on the Balmorhea, hopefully won’t be disappointed.
  7. ATTtV Now - former DirectTV Now logon works for HBO Max.
  8. Wow. I passed on brisket at Costco. $5.19/ pound, bought a bunch of ribs instead.
  9. You don’t need prime for this. The cook will be what matters.
  10. Was able to grab a TL Blanton’s pick. Notwithstanding it’s a 375, it’s the first Blanton’s I’ve ever found in the wild.
  11. Old Ezra 7 - WOW that’s sweet. All I can smell or taste is cotton candy.
  12. A lot of these grail bottles don’t really live up the hype. For me, this one does.
  13. Happy World Whiskey Day!
  14. Never trust a TW rec of something you’ve never heard of before.
  15. You will not like the price. I nearly passed, and am on record saying GB is overpriced. Succumbed to the hype, but not disappointed.
  16. That rye is the best bang for the buck on the list. TW has it by the L for $25.
  17. Anybody looking for this, TW Lakeline has it up front.
  18. Quite the contrary, see city of Austin and Travis County using the crisis as a reason to suspend the caps passed in the last legislature to increase property tax rates.
  19. I’d like a Move for the back porch but feels overpriced to me. Keep thinking they will run a sale - probably wishful thinking on my part. For now will just continue moving one of my other speakers out when we are on the porch.
  20. Haven’t cracked the Hancock yet, never had it before. With that recommendation I’ll open tonight.
  21. Whiskey sours on the back porch
  22. Thinking strictly from the value and availability standpoint. Best tasting answer for me is always Col. Taylor, all varieties.
  23. In the past few days I’ve picked up Blood Oath, Hancock’s Presidents Reserve, Bookers’s Granny’s Batch and Heaven’s Hill BiB. Yet I think the best buy was probably the 2 - 1L’s of OF rye for $24 each.
  24. Seemed like a neat idea until 15 minutes in, John Legend version of Nothing Compares to You. Overproduced and unmitigated shitshow. Tuning out now.
