I'm an engineer not an architect, but these are pretty standard contract terms, both meant to protect the architect. The first is to prevent you from reusing or reselling the plans. It also allows the architect to reuse standard details, general notes etc. that they have developed for other projects on your job. The second is common sense - no one is going to take your job for $xx and open themselves up to contract liability beyond that for your project. Now if there's an issue with the plans/ professional work during or after construction that becomes a different issue and then the E&O may come into play.. disclaimer - I do zero residential work so YMMV.
Thread sounds like the usual Austin bitching. MoPAC construction was horribly mismanaged by CH2M. CTRMA probably should have defaulted them but didn’t. Lane was brought on to finish the job, and has been largely responsible for getting the road open and fixing the stuff CH2M screwed up. The sound walls were designed incorrectly to handle structural load and are being replaced (pretty quickly in my opinion). Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Too young to have watched the original series. Did all of its plots also revolve around Will Robinson being the stupidest most gullible human that ever existed? They should have left him on Earth. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Problem is that it’s on SyFy. I’m the target market for this but gave up on that network a long time ago. Never watched until I ran across it on Amazon Prime. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
I’ve lived near the Oasis for 20 years, can count less than 10 visits. That said, try Oasis Brewing Company for a similar view and legit brew with better (still not great ) food. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
My house backs up to an LCRA preserve, with coyotes and hawks. Except my neighbors are smart enough to comprehend how nature works. We’ve lost the occasional cat or small dog in the neighborhood and somehow life goes on. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
YMMV, but for me this list is very location dependent. If I eat at Chuys I’m driving to North Lamar. Maudie’s? Never go to the Triangle location again. Etc. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
I bought a pit boss from Costco a couple of years ago. Thought the same thing, that you couldn’t beat the price. Made it 3 cooks before the lid misaligned. Couldn’t get it back in place, customer support nonexistent. Eventually took it back. The correct Costco buy is when the Kamado Joe road show comes through. Good savings on a legit brand. That’s what I did last year, and it’s a great cooker. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
There is a belief that Cedar Park is getting a free ride because they pulled out of Cap Metro years ago but their residents still get to use the park and rides for the red line. Problem is CP has assigned the sales tax that would otherwise go to Cap Metro to their economic Development 4b and 4c corporations and is using it for improvements in the city. The only way to get them to pay for Cap Metro services would be for city council to agree to a yearly bill. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Actually it remains to be seen if the “dude they hired to run it” is legit. His reviews from previous stops are mixed. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
The middle is still there, just waiting for some leadership and growing tired of fighting.. but with a primary system that the fringes have figured out how to hijack and that lends itself to no competitive November races due to gerrymandered districts the politicians have certainly become more extreme.
Anybody tried Swift single malt out of a Dripping Springs? Got to talking about it with the guy at my local Twin today. He hadn't tried so was not recommending, just noted it's a relatively new local add.
Been binging The Expanse. Moves a little slow but worth watching. Good cast, gets a lot of the science and politics right. Gets better after Thomas Jane loses his hat.
