  1. So my question is what types of documents exactly? I mean if it's all paperwork, why didn't they just make copies or take pictures spystyle? Why did they leave this gaping hole in the library of classified stuff that would immediately be traced to them? I could see thumb drives or ext hard drives with sensitive programs, but paperwork? Doesn't make sense. They are pretty stupid though.
  2. Here's a good thread on more big money donors into Texas politics. The whole thread is a good read.
  3. I wonder if he'll go through with the town hall type debate offered. Also where will be interesting. Beto has been sharpening his debating skills at these type events for 21 days now, with 28 to go. We went to the one in Rockdale, Milam County on Friday night. The hall was packed and there were probably 100 protestors outside, many open carrying pistols and several ARs. Lots of Abbott signs. During the Q&A several MAGAs came in and tried to agitate by asking questions like "Why are you taking our guns" and "Beeto, (some gibberish about freezing windmills)." I would imagine by the time of any debate Beto will have heard just about all the dumb sound bite questions and will have honed a good response.
  4. He just got confused on where to send his colon cancer screen test.
  5. They do these grueling tasks to keep their constituents big money donors happy.
  6. That guy's a thumb if I've ever seen one.
  7. This pretty much sums up how the GOP has edged closer to the edge. Like each red huckster, each red state has to outdo the other to land the ludicrous blow that will finally kill the spirit of the evil liberal and free the land for the pure and just agenda of the right.
  8. Very typical. I guess he signed the bill that allowed Biden's money to do this. Could have refused it like medicaid expansion, I suppose.
  9. I don't remember there being all these factions against a sitting governor in a while. At least not organized to the level of Mothers Against Greg Abbott and others. That's going to help. How much, hard to say. I just hope the vote blue all the way down ballot.
  10. I had a friend there. She said it was extremely emotional considering it's the first time a lot of the parents have spoken.
  11. "Just because you believe something is true does not make it true." "You thinking something is true is not a defense." We need a whole lot more of this.
  12. He can't stop grifting. His vitamins are THE best!
  13. On the other end of the spectrum, there are those who are beginning to successfully fight the lunacy: An NRA charity planned to raffle an AR-15 at a Texas event. Then Uvalde families protested and the group lost its site https://www.cnn.com/2022/08/02/us/hondo-texas-nra-fundraiser/index.html
  14. Dick Armey, Tom DeLay.
  15. Agree here. Ann Richards ran and won on 2 issues the first time, installing a lottery and insurance reform, which benefitted all Texans who owned a house or car. Most of the down ballot candidates have latched on to a few key issues, like Collier and Fix the Damn Grid. The Beto camp is pretty sophisticated in how they set up both phone banks and block walks. Like gmr said, you have a pretty good idea who is going to answer and their leanings. They've also branched out into adding teams that specialize in persuasion work for fence sitters, as well as teams that reach out to the traditional non-voters. Plus they have a pretty extensive postcard writing campaign in full swing. They do really good training as well. They don't just hand you a lot of literature and point out a neighborhood, or hand you a list of numbers. But they do have their own way of doing things and expect you to follow them and show up. https://map.betoorourke.com/
  16. The only list that matters is Billy's.
  17. Isn't that a skinny Gorka?
  18. A BBQ will be announced soon to introduce the cops to the ones they shouldn't fuck with.
  19. A pretty decent way to spend a couple of hours.
  20. I haven't seen these listed anywhere yet. This is a list of Netflix codes for types of movies. If you go to the search feature and put in the number, all the movies that fit that genre pop up. Unfortunately, you have to actually pick each one to see the info/trailers. Still a pretty neat option to find movies you might not realize are even in their library. Plus Dirty Dozen dropped just recently.
  21. I wish it would help get ranked choice voting more acceptable. Then it wouldn't matter so much how many parties. I attended an organizational meeting a friend of mine hosted during Covid, it wasn't well attended. About 5 hippies was all.
  22. They will keep having them as long as Dunn, Wilks, Koch and the rest of the uber wealthy keep funding them. These conferences are nothing more than big Amway type cult sessions intent on recruitment and retention of the masses. Yeah, there's a grift angle too, but it's not the main angle.
  23. What is that tattoo on his right arm?
  24. Dunn reminds me of Ron Johnson and Wilks reminds me of that fat bald cop from breaking bad. Neither of them are over the top in appearance. Pretty low key looking guys. I watched that series on the mormon fundamentalist branch that were under a "Prophet" and trafficked young girls. These two guys def give off that "Prophet" vibe.
