  1. I was busy keeping the spirits up in the Christmas Assembly thread. Hope everybody had a great day and enjoys the fuck outta putting all those decorations away!
  2. while she might not have aged well, she looked good in that movie. As did the other ladies in it.
  3. Grace Kelly in High Noon Jane Russell in The Outlaw Maureen O'Hara in McClintock
  4. Merry Christmas, you weirdos.
  5. Here's the latest out of B/CS media (love how they reference the 25th ranked 8-4 aggys. Oh the greatness!): For those actually interested in reading this tripe: https://theeagle.com/eedition/page-b1/page_b3a946f9-b71f-5d3a-9d52-9bd49651c228.html https://theeagle.com/eedition/page-b3/page_19393c72-1c0c-59d6-a37c-5bafb7cd7173.html
  6. Another vote for Loudermilk. He reminds me of Walter Matthau.
  7. Truly Texas Mexican. Documentary based on a book by Adan Medrano. Great ties back to the history and culture of indigenous Texas food. Anybody who enjoyed High on the Hog will enjoy this. https://trulytexasmexican.com/
  8. Glad I asked. And even more delighted you had a great answer MD.
  9. I wonder if they are still together. And if not, what she's up to these days.
  10. This goes back as far as I can remember. The only years they lost the "choke" mentality were the FedEx Jackie years. All their delusions of grandeur are based on those years. Seems we are back full circle when it comes to bag men.
  11. This. In spite of how it works and the backside of it, it was a good thing. And now it's potentially scrubbed. And it affects poor on both sides. It's just going to muddy the water even more, but in the end it will be Manchin's head on a platter. If they don't vote, then why are we seeing so many voter suppression laws and gerrymandering? Maybe in spite of decades of poll taxes and literacy tests, American minorities still believe their vote can matter, and want to cast them. Scares the hell out of white supremacists like you, doesn't it? I guess government subsidies isn't considered interference. Only regulations fall under that heading. And it seems Manchin might have got his feelings hurt. There's an audio clip of this out there, and it sure comes across as someone more interested in looking tough than actually doing his job: Manchin confidant says Biden put his FAMILY at risk with 'personalized' attacks as it's revealed White House ignored his request to be left out of statement where it named him three times Joe Manchin tore into White House staff and his fellow Democrats, blaming them for his decision to vote 'no' on Biden's signature Build Back Better bill He accused Democrats of badgering him and beating 'the living crap' out of him as they tried to get his vote He also said White House staff know the 'real reason' he's a no on the legislation 'It's not the president,' Manchin said. 'It's the staff. And they drove some things and they put some things out that were absolutely inexcusable. They know' 'They can't just beat the living crap out of people and think they'll be submissive,' he said of Democratic leadership Article gets into some good depth about the back and forth during negotiations and afterwards. https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-10330497/Manchin-confidant-says-Biden-FAMILY-risk-personalized-statements.html
  12. Binged on Maid the past couple of days. Thought it was really good at taking things apart, showing how each thread interacts and then bringing it all back together. And they did a good job showing DV can be more than just knocking someone around. It also did a great job showing how the system is stacked against the poor young single moms.
  13. Pretty well known name in south Texas. Used to be a Turnipseed Boot Co in Beeville. His son played for Baylor in the 70s. https://starlocalmedia.com/allenamerican/sports/turnipseede-plants-name-in-beeville-hall-of-fame/article_f8536cb4-95f4-5b8b-b020-e5a2a548aaf0.html
  14. There was a full page ad in the AAS that I believe was a poster as well. 1987. McWilliams' first year. He and about a dozen like Metcalf and Walker standing around in uniforms but with cowboy dusters. Done like an ad for an old western movie. Thing was brilliant. Anybody remember that? Your list would make a great Part 2. The new young guns.
  15. Ironic part is that I enjoy him calling baseball games. But nothing else. He sucks at all else. And while we are on this kick, why do they keep mentioning Blanks was an NBA GM? I mean if he was good enough to be a GM, then wouldn't he still be doing that gig somewhere instead of doing color on LHN?
  16. Probably right. More likely stuck together.
  17. Maybe, but I am thinking back to those reports of him having the highlighted and dog eared copy of Mein Kampf on his bedside table. That was Ivana who mentioned this, right? Probably mandatory reading by Fred.
  18. It's becoming apparent that playbook is the only book he's ever read.
  19. surly-weightlifting.mp4
  20. Move over James Bond flamethrower-headlights.mp4
  21. About the time of the expose on Doug Williams and Grambling too, IIRC.
  22. Will the home tests give you a reading on what variant you might have?
  23. Yeah, this is where my friend from ATL is now. Again. Third time she has been hospitalized for clots from Covid. She was actually beginning to work again from home, doing online medical billing input and went back in two weeks ago now. She's on blood thinners, but still her blood is thick like the molasses Trauma mentioned. Another bleak Christmas for her and kids.
  24. You don't see coaches doing shit like this for funds. Just classroom teachers.
