  1. Ok, but let's agree to compare bankruptcy cases, IQ tests, tax returns, and pending lawsuits against each of them too, right?
  2. Never mind. I didn't expect an honest answer.
  3. So straight up, immortal, who has more mental acuity at present, Biden or Trump, and would you give some substantive examples of why you think this?
  4. Jeff Leach is no Bob Bullock. Yeah, but he's gotta be kinda gleeful, because you know this is going to be riling up a lot of good ol aggys and bringing them back into his 9.95 network to whine and commiserate. They'll be tuning in to his aggy expertise. On another note, I am curious to see how we fit into the SEC. It's almost like going back the the DKR/Switzer days of cheating and spying, but against a lot more schools, not just OU. I'm guessing the NIL has changed everything so dramatically separating the haves from the have nots, that UT sees this move as inevitable, so get ahead of it. Time to hire more bagmen.
  5. yeah but it wasn't the brits after 1776 and we started embracing Manifest Destiny.
  6. Yeah, I would go along with this. We were pretty good about going in and setting up puppet regimes that fed us a lot of their natural resources without us having to plant a flag. Then we figured out how we could loan them American tax dollars with the stipulation they only hire American contractors to build needless infrastructure and pointless outdated weaponry. On the other hand, our empire really did start with the landing at Jamestown, because our European forefathers had no problem wiping out the existing indigenous people and taking their land all the way across North America. Even using localized control with states and territories. Not much different than Romans did. So maybe Empire part one, and Empire part two?
  7. Maybe this is in the Gaetz thread. I haven't looked. The whole Cali beach pic is just the tip of the iceberg.
  8. The only thing more righteous would have been him drowning in the boat parade. Fake priest praying for fake christians. I am sure he's getting some grift out of it too.
  9. It's like trying not to rubberneck at an accident, right?
  10. While I agree deaths might not impact the vote that much, there are going to be a lot of people who get really sick, and fall behind financially, or lose their jobs. Not to mention things already creeping higher like food and building supplies. All that can be laid at the feet of leaders who didn't take covid seriously, much less misdirected their public. If the Dems are smart, they play this up.
  11. That would be like some kind of checkmate on the MAGA mouthpieces like Abbott.
  12. With Covid Delta coming on strong, it might be the thing that wakes up enough of the country to start questioning Republicans, thus leading to their losing enough credibility to have pretty much anything they push questioned.
  13. I agree. And lung transplants aren't any great answer either. The survival rate on those is nowhere like it is with other organs. I know, my friend the paramedic in ATL is a longhauler and her doctors are beginning to discuss putting her on the list. Most transplantees average life expectancy of 5 years from what I read, and the percentage of rejections is higher than with other organs. She didn't have the luxury of a vaccine when she caught it, and since then has been in and out of the hospital and rehab 5 times. Each time up until this one they would clear her for duty, and she would work 2-3 weeks, get worn down and catch another case of bronchitis which would develop into pneumonia, or dbl pneumonia. This last round had her coughing so much she herniated a disc in her back. Now she's back home two weeks, they send a nurse 3 times a week. She sleeps most days. we exchange a few texts, because talking wears her out. And its a daily strain financially, on top of the depression and anxiety that goes with it. She's finally on disability, and with the CTC starting to help, I think she can keep a roof over her head and not have her car repoed. Slowly she is working towards getting her cert for medical data entry from home. So fuck anyone and their dumbass arguments about not getting vaccinated. Yesterday was her 38th birthday. Her four kids could be orphans by this time next year. If anyone sees anything about support or retraining programs for long haulers, please let me know. This is going to be a long long issue we will deal with as a country going forward, with a lot of variables. Thanks. Show me the fucking data that unequivocally shows vaccinated people do NOT transmit Covid. I'll wait. Again, fuck anyone who argues against vaccination. I don't give a damn if they die, but they better not clog up and wear down our healthcare system that also treats those who did give enough shit about humanity to try to protect everyone. If a girl has unprotected sex and gets pregnant, then by God, not only will we not pay for her abortion, but she can't even have one! They have no problem meddling with what a woman can or can't do, but well, except for this. The government has no place in encouraging citizens one way or another health wise, right? Yeah, and they are paying for those supplements on the third SEC Visa card they took out in their 4 yo's name. But Trump's vaccine was safe, Biden is the one who is taking advantage and adding micro chips. And those micro chips are there because the vapor trails are not working fast enough. China has nothing on Biden when it comes to killing wypipo. Maybe if everyone was positive and agreed that getting vaccinated was a good thing, then all demos would have better numbers? But no, the R's keep putting out disinformation which will trickle down one way or another into all those demos.
  14. And they will try to write it off as some sort of official junket. Some staffer will go without rent to pay for it out of their budget.
  15. These cities should be collecting security detail charges up front for these things. Then issue the permits. Double the normal rate and blame it on Trump type rallies having ducked payments in the past. They'll stop barnstorming soon enough. They are doing it to raise money, nothing else. Adding 10 or 20 K to the permitting fee will shut it down.
  16. I think he is trying to separate himself from Trump, but not the Trumpkins. Skipping CPAC was part of that. He's trying to establish a new standard of deplorable to follow. Trump will not run again and he's going to be covered up in lawsuits and everything else coming at him. Leaving a void, and Rafael figures to fill it.
  17. I wonder how many families of these anti-vaxxers will take advantage of the funeral payments that are part of CARES, when one of their own pass. I know a guy who is full on Q and his schtick all along was Soros, Rothschild, et al, (the upper .01%) were working towards depopulation of the masses to give them more elbow room on the planet. They would be happy to do away with 90%, since they would still need gardeners and servants. Now this fucker is full on anti vax, and full on Gates and micro chip crap. It is like someone is orchestrating this and somehow foresaw the stupidity divide in most countries and took advantage of it.
  18. I'm surprised there's not a ton of memes with cruz and his suitcase, or titling this killer bees, part deaux.
  19. I would think the cost of providing restrooms and security would make up the bulk of that 80K.
  20. The only doctor he could get to interview was from where else? aggy school of medicine, and he's spouting young people don't need vaccine.
  21. We went through this several years ago with The Kite Runner. Who'd have thought a book about some "Mooslim gay boy" would cause a stir in rural east Texas? This probably got posted in the CRT thread, but seems apropos here as well. Simply put the victors write the history, and always put themselves in glorious light. Alternatives are coming out, so we must claim "fake news." https://www.texastribune.org/2021/07/01/texas-forget-the-alamo-book-event-canceled/
  22. I watched this series with my teenage son. First time I saw it on TV, I saw through Kevin's eyes. Second time I saw it more through his dad's.
  23. I started one today titled Travels by Narrowboat on Amazon. It's very different, but really kind of cool. It's very relaxing and a little addictive.
