  1. They figure they will win and rewrite history to suit their purposes. The way of the white European male. And some Khans, I am sure.
  2. That's all these bozos have is bluff. They have no viable plan for anything to point back to and take credit. It's all read and react, and stymy. Play for time and hope the anger subsides as the next news cycle comes up. But the thing is is that climate change is about to take center stage, and it's just going to be heaped onto this bonfire of grift. With or without Dem incompetence running the show, there will be enough come out to push these trolls back under their bridge. But it will take finding another Walter Cronkite or Edward Morrow to get the info out and believed.
  3. I'd like to think the outcome of these investigations will be to expose Trump as a pretender president who only took the office to line his pockets. Showing a history of that, and proving it continued throughout his term would be a way to show the American people that the rules and standards of obtaining and holding the office need to be revisited and shored up. I'd also like to see his entire family groveling for spare change on a street corner in NYC.
  4. You are right, I didn't say that right. I meant that the gerrymandering pretty much destroys any chance of rural dems getting a real representative. Our votes in our districts are fodder for the right wing to use rural to offset urban blue. Sorry.
  5. Quote I will not be surprised when news of the first lynching drops. This is where we are on just about everything in state politics. Rural V Urban. Red throws everything at rural, and Blue abandons it and goes all in on urban. TDP does not have any strategy to bolster support in the rural counties. And while rurals often are screwed by gerrymandering, they can make a difference in state wide races. But that is ignored.
  6. This is the latest attempt at stirring up a McCarthy type hysteria. The proverbial mountain out of a mole hill. You don't see any numbers associated with this and for good reason. A country our size should have no issue absorbing the amount of people who are seeking legitimate asylum plus a reasonable number of immigrants every year. The money they spend on ICE and walls and all these tactics to keep them out could fund a pretty good program for aiding these people in setting up new lives, escaping the hell that is their life now. Our immigration policies have become so convoluted and archaic it's ridiculous. But of course instead of addressing the problem and proposing methods to make things better, let's sit on our hands and scream bloody murder to a point where everyone is at a fever pitch. Let's set up confrontation points to make things more pointed, instead of developing a system to process people with grace. But no, our republicans are all Karens now. Dumb, fat screaming bitches threatening to call the police!
  7. I finished this damn series. I should get a medal. Actually it was pretty good. They never jumped the shark on plots and when one cast member left, they figured out decent ways to replace them. Unlike Endeavor, their casting staff did not find very many cute women, though several of the older ones were decent enough. I suppose it was good enough, it did run 12 seasons, so someone other than me liked it. This was a lot like Exterminate All Brutes on HBO. Need to take it in small doses.
  8. I'm digging this. So far behind because I did all 12 seasons of New Tricks on Prime. Anyone started Sex/Life? Subtitled 'the life of a retired sugar baby'
  9. But McConnell got his judges. That was the important thing. He's definitely in it for the long game. He figures he can withstand pretty much anything Trump can throw at him. Just taking the opportunity to put words in his mouth. To make it look like he was/is at heart true to republican ideals.
  10. Yes, we have been here before. This is a pretty good documentary on how this stuff keeps ebbing and flowing. And to listen to this guy, it's all part of the process of building our country. When I saw he was part of the Bush WH, I nearly shut it off. But it was worth the watch. There are people out there who are aware, the issue is are there enough believing it's happening again and finding ways to turn it around?
  11. I actually like Galindo doing BB. It's the only thing I like him doing, but I'll give credit where it's due.
  12. I remember those days. It was the only beer you could get in Boystown. We didn't mess with limes. You could bring back a case of pony size, or a quart of booze.
  13. I wonder how much Trump owes NYC for security details, like he does El Paso and others.
  14. So if it's flown upside down? A druid lives here? Atheists unite?
  15. Especially in those communities where so many essential workers were housed. They put their lives on the line every day. I feel if it had been approached right, the message could have been delivered in person, with respect, from a distance.
  16. Until they can't refrigerate their insulin, then it becomes an issue. Yes, we have to change the mindset that these groups, be they identified by race, religion, gender, or locality are monoliths. However Covid hurt a lot. The party was hampered by no in person canvassing. The republicans thought Covid was bullshit, and they waded through it, right up to people's doorsteps. The dems couldn't do that and not come off as hypocrites. The lack of face to face on porches or in events is critical. You are right. It is usually the school districts and utility type districts that are non-partisan. But you can usually find where a party has endorsed a candidate or not. I will say I firmly feel that local races for everything from dog catcher to county judge should be non-partisan. Let them win based on their merit and ideas, not the letter behind their name. And make it ranked voting as well.
  17. I noticed a few of the recruits wearing multiple wristbands. Almost like they are wearing them as medals to show everyone who they have had OVs with. It looks like he has more than just one on. Next we will have 9.95ers analyzing the order these kids wear those wristbands.
  18. that's just unattractive. and scary.
  19. Well. it sure can't stand on it's own. Of course if you consider ALL the households in a state, not just the upper tier. We all know who conservative policies benefit. Would be nice to see those stats.
  20. Local news was doing a report on it last night about a couple in bridge city or somewhere signed up for some supersaver app controlling their thermostat.
  21. This guy explains how Trump used Russian tactics on the American people. Called the 'firehose of falsehoods" intended to overwhelm and confuse the average citizen, driving them to be cynical and untrusting of most sources.
  22. Her twitter is a beating. Typical red accusations and no substance. It's predictable and comical, but it's the norm now. The GOP is now a flock of parrots, all bleating the latest message to denigrate anything that might constitute a change for the better and away from a system that favors wealth over justice.
  23. Too many of them are investing in Generac systems for their homes. My Trumpkin brother was whining about spending 8 grand on one and I told him to just donate the money to his local democrats, get them in office and let them just fix the system. I mean what the fuck, are we going to be buying personal maintainers to grade our roads, since TxDot seems to lose more funding every year? Drill our own water wells? Put in outhouses or septic systems? Already you look at these gomers wanting to carry guns because you can't count on the cops. Just fund shit to work properly. Shake my head.
  24. I think he was trying to say Kushner is effeminate without saying it outright. Well now we know what all those many many important phone calls and meetings were about. Between this and selling pardons, Donnie was a busy boy.
