  1. If Mitchell stays, they need to put him in the Disu chair of shooting practice all summer.
  2. I have a cousin who went to TAMU, and his 3 kids went too. I have never seen them in anything that isn't black, white, grey or maroon for at least 20 years. It's astounding.
  3. Somehow the use of the word 'ain't' in that very precisely written response just doesn't fit. She can't pull off the 'Aww, shucks' delivery like DKR, Bum and others did. But usually they would break into that when they wanted to appear humble. This woman has no idea what humble is. It just rings so false, like the rest of her. I would shudder to hear Sark or Vic or any of our coaches speak like that.
  4. Part of the aggie grift, I imagine.
  5. If there's one thing they know how to do it's polishing turds.
  6. Our boy Graham is at it again. This time it's the Trev hire. And of course none of it make sense. This guy is going to be good for a lot of laughs going forward. Texas A&M hiring Trev Alberts shows they are still one step ahead of Texas, OU The Texas A&M Aggies are showing that they won’t back down to anybody in the new era of collegiate athletics. 7. Mad respect for you being an election worker. A thankless job made harder by the idiots passing laws to make it harder to vote, not easier.
  8. Probably the fact he conceded before the polls were closed? Maybe they do it differently there, and release count as they come in, and not wait until after the polls close. Doubtful. He might have been going off of exit poll results?
  9. Don't forget Liz Carpenter. https://www.chron.com/opinion/editorials/article/the-funny-feminist-liz-carpenter-knew-how-to-1708575.php
  10. Yep. Was actually thinking integrity. But you are right, it's a mindset away from capitalism, consumerism and material wealth.
  11. Seems with the increased O&G self-dependency and movement towards renewables here in the states and across the world, the Saudis would not be carrying as big a stick as they did in the past. There's still a place for them moving forward but diminished.
  12. Yes, some standards need to be set. But I think something like the Hays Commission would ensue. They tried to clean up Hollywood and in so doing they set up their own propaganda machine, which in turn stifled a lot of artistic talent and concepts. So, it has to be done right. The problem is Trump has made even facts questionable. And a sizeable chunk of people look to the Bible as the only fact. Yeah, there's a lot to untangle here. But then we do it in a lot of other things like football and business, so just nut up and put groups in categories and have them abide within a set of rules to stay in that category. That would separate ONN and Fox from actual news reporting agencies. And once those standards are set, then maybe MSM starts to lean harder back into the facts and away from the MTG type carwreck sensationalistic reporting they feel they have to provide to compete with Fox and that ilk. I think back to the day when you stood in line at the grocer and could choose from Time, or LIFE or tabloids. We used to thumb through the tabloids for the amusement and take home a Time of Newsweek for the real truth. Somehow, we need to bring back that basic knowledge of truth from bullshit. Why is Snopes so highly regarded? How do we bottle that?
  13. So many Trumpkins think he is this financial wizard who can lead the US economy to the promised land. This should be a good place to start an ad campaign against that notion. Carry it through to the fact that they have taken over the GOP to use all their donations to save his broken ass.
  14. On a personal note, I'd go back to a time when my father and grandfather were alive and in their right minds. But only with the knowledge I have now, because I would have only been like 13 at that time. So many questions about family history, my dad's experiences in WW2, at UT with all the others on the GI Bill. 1) To be part of the Lewis and Clark Expedition 2) Cadillac Bar back in its heyday 3) The last days of the Knights Templar 4) Pompeii before and during the eruption 5) Michu Picchu at its peak
  15. They ought to do one with the Central Park 5. Always thought about setting up a traveling dunking booth with a Biden impersonator. Let the guy just obliterate the idiots with snarky truths. All proceeds go to Biden Campaign. Dad?
  16. Welp, that's one less vote for Trump.
  17. If there were ever a resting bitch face...
  18. I'm pretty sure I saw Tyrese on the perimeter of the girls' huddle before tipoff last night. Hopefully they got to stay over to offer the same support.
  19. That is generally right, but a fair amount of politically driven content providers were trying to move their audience from TikTok to Threads. This was back before IG got more into the reels, like last July/August. Texas Paul was one of them.
  20. I personally like TikTok. It's not free anymore. It's littered with a lot of sponsored ads and also has its own marketplace started so TikTok content providers can get commissions on things they promote. Zuckerberg tried to pull the TT people into @threads. Hasn't been successful so far. Interesting side note is that Trump has decided TikTok is ok now, since Jeff Yass has decided to pony up some money for TFG. Yass holds about 30% of ByteDance (over $15 billion valuation), which owns TikTok. Yass is the guy who gave Abbott 6.25 million to primary all the anti-voucher Republicans. I am guessing there's a financial/political move here. It is interesting that this has sprung from the Red controlled house.
  21. Stassneyhorn is right on this. In my county they are already normalized to have to drive at least an hour to find healthcare. But the voucher fight hits a lot of folks hard in the pocketbook at one time. That tied together with the failure to invest in public schools at a minimum, while loading more and more security issues on them. We have a retired math teacher and current school board member running for the state house seat, and our strategy is to talk to retired teachers and administrators, let them help us spread the word. While they might not care about improving the quality of education, if it starts to eat into their athletics budget, or teachers/staff start losing jobs, then yeah, they will care. We might not flip any seats, but I would bet they get the idea about vouchers and if we can start reining them in on that one issue, we have a chance at others.
  22. I'll play too. Closer to home. Texas Railroad Commission:Crane County Frack water disaster.
