  1. It would be funny if some new Wendy's food accidentally killed her or something. Need more Mike in the next season. The daughter and his interactions were cute. She supported him, no matter how crazy things got. You know how kids can be like that and think the world of their parents before that trust is used up or shattered. One thing this show did really well was making an odd cast of characters and using people that play small roles. There were so many random encounters with people we never see again, but they add to the mystery and keep you guessing because some of them do come back. It also builds that small town feeling of oddballs. I enjoyed all the random encounters, never knowing if any of them would amount to anything. I never thought after the first episode that the guy who unbuttoned his shirt to run away would be seen again, but now they are best friends. I figure the next big mystery could involve his former employer. That way they could bring back LDP, Douglas, etc and work some angle there. Maybe the changes to the plans went poorly and the mall never got finished. Maybe Ron keeps trying to find another way to expose the Tecca conspiracy. Plenty to work with.
  2. I don't have a clue where a season 2 would go after all that. So he solved the mystery, but can't go through with it because he loves his wife too much. So weird. Kind of a funny show, but no where near as good as ITYSL or even Detroiters.
  3. It may be frowned upon, but yeah beating them in the road with various melee instruments would make the game inside the stadium much easier.
  4. I think it reads that the Sox are taking on a 1 year 31m deal + either a 10m buyout or another mutual year at 30m. That's 41 million minimum for 1 year? Seems a bit too pricey for a 4.28 ERA to me. But maybe he will have a big year with a new club that doesn't suck. JV is just for fun to me. I figured this would be his last year and he would retire with the Astros who he won 2 rings and 4 pennants. Yeah he's like a 5-6th rotation guy, but he's a big name and probably worth signing just for tickets and merch sales. Hopefully a gesture like that would mean he goes into the Hall with an Astros cap instead of a Tigers. Not sure how that is decided, but it is something to consider as a club.
  5. He's pretty expensive for a 36 year old, look what the Red Sox wound up with. Plus we probably have JV coming back for one last hurrah for like 10m. "Gray, 36, waived his no-trade clause to leave the Cardinals. The three-time All-Star went 14-8 with a 4.28 ERA last season while not missing a start for St. Louis. He had been guaranteed $40 million for the next two seasons: $35 million for 2026 and a $5 million buyout of a $30 million team option for 2027. His contract was changed to guarantee him $41 million: a $31 million salary for next year and a $30 million mutual option for 2027 with a $10 million buyout."
  6. Should probably check the country of origin on the account she's talking with. I wouldn't put it past the French to make up a fictional character in the government that's sending her fake information to see how easily she laps it up without verification. Then present the fake info in court to prove she has no integrity or intelligence and win a huge defamation lawsuit to bankrupt her. 4d chess.
  7. I watched it the other night and enjoyed it. It's more clever and witty than laugh-out-loud humor, but worth a watch. Some of the relationship discussions felt pretty realistic and sad, but the movie did well walking that line between humor and their marital problems. I thought it was funny that the name of the restaurant was so similar to the pet store in Dumb and Dumber. Kate McKinnon wasn't in it a whole lot, but what's with her being some one-note weirdo sex pest character in every movie now? I feel like every time I see her, she's constantly hitting on someone inappropriately and making crude comments. Not that there's anything wrong with that as a character, but it's all she does. It's odd because she had a real range of characters on SNL, and I thought she would do more. I looked up the house that Theo built, and sadly it's not a real home. They built it as a set for the movie, but the style and design were very intentional. I found this article that highlights the details and choices for the architecture. The corkscrew shaped wine cellar was an interesting choice. Just an absolutely beautiful home and set, I think it will get an Oscar nom for that. https://fredericmagazine.com/2025/08/screening-room-the-roses/ The dinner scene at the end was hilarious. The part where the other people try to do the mean 'banter' reminded me of this ITYSL sketch:
  8. No way would the Rangers trade him to Houston, or anyone else in the division. They sent him to the NL for a reason.
  9. When they got it to 1, need to let Denver inbound and foul immediately for 2 FTs. Might have had a shot to tie it if there were 4-5 seconds on the clock instead of 2.
  10. Huge flop there by the Denver guy. 5 on Sengun
  11. But who can give us Zack Short vs the Dodgers numbers for 1 weekend each year?
  12. The bill has several carve outs for things that can't be published, such as victim names, child abuse, pornography, active investigation material, National security issues, etc. Some have speculated that this is why Trump told Bondi to open an investigation into Democrats who are mentioned, so they can prevent the release of info he doesn't like. The game is far from over, but hopefully they start cracking more and fuckup their redactions.
  13. Good win. The Cavs are a pretty good team, but still missing some key players. Mitchell was not good tonight, but credit to the defense for making him struggle so much. The Rockets seem like a legit #3 in the West, and with a bit of luck, they could make the WCF.
  14. I understand all that, and it is a truly lopsided trade, I just think the Lakers need to have some success with Luka before it is cemented in the #1 spot. The Celtics and Thunder both got their key pieces to championships from those trades. Neither of them win those rings without the trade, and both have the opportunity to win more in the future. I think Luka needs to be successful in LA before it is certainly "the worst trade of all time."
  15. Ah, I just figured it out. She reminds me of Amanda Peet.
  16. It actually would make a lot of sense for AIPAC Shakur to be involved with the IDFs primary honeypot scheme.
  17. I think it kind of depends on how it goes for the Lakers. Trades like this need a component of it to generate at least a conference title to be "worst of all time". Like the Nets/Celtics trade resulted in the Celtics getting a championship out of it, which makes it way worse that they gave up so much and did fuck all with it. The Clips/PG trade is up there too, because now it also resulted in a championship, one that they certainly don't win without that trade. The Lakers need Luka to get some MVPs and make the Finals to truly seize that 'worst trade ever' status IMO.
  18. Hey guys, hear me out...
  19. Might have looked something like this
  20. That's the House Committee, the US Justice Department likely had those during the Maxwell trial, which spanned the Biden administration. Garland and Friends should have tipped someone off around 2022 about this and started the process to get other reputable sources looking at the info. I'm guessing, like most things that really matter, it never crossed Garland's mind. Plus he didn't want to harm his image of cosplaying as the arbiter of eternal fairness. At least he caught that dirty dirty Hunter Biden though!
  21. It still amazes me that Dems didn't find a way to leak those emails back in October of last year. It would have shifted the whole fucking election and saved the country.
  22. Good Fortune - Loved this movie, highly recommend it. Funny, entertaining, and a lot of interesting social commentary between the poors and the rich.
  23. "The deal locks up Naylor through the 2030 season, includes a full no-trade clause and is worth $92.5 million with no deferrals, sources told ESPN." That's an APY of 18.5m, which is good value for him. He's only 28, so they are hitting his prime years with this deal. Fangraphs had him at a 3.1 WAR last year with a 25m valuation on his contributions.
