  1. So where does Nick Fuentes being a catboy fall within this scale of internet subculture?
  2. In that first clip, Charlie is referring to the Leviticus 19 passage that is often translated a few different ways, which says "Do not hate a fellow Israelite in your heart" or some form of "countryman" instead of Israelite. That's not the same as the quote from Jesus, which is contained in multiple Gospels, that he calls his followers to "love your neighbor as yourself." There is a very distinct difference between the two, in that the quote from Jesus is inclusive of all humans, not just Israelites, and extends that compassion to others no matter their nationality, race or ethnicity. It was a radically different commandment with a universal purpose than the one from Leviticus, which is what Charlie quotes, and I'm sure there's a good reason why he likes that verse instead. So telling Miss Rachel to go "crack open that Bible" as if she didn't know what the "love they neighbor" text meant, is just the cherry on top of the patronizing misinterpretation of her words and a complete misunderstanding of his own religion. That's not even getting into the whole old law vs new law discussion, and what still applies to the modern day law based on Jesus' teachings. Or even looking at all the examples of Jesus interacting with the sinful people and helping them regardless of if they were living in sin. It's just astonishing how modern day Christians have completely bastardized the teachings of Jesus and twisted it to reinforce their own bigotry and vengefulness against groups of people they love to hate.
  3. Because it lets them play into their collective perpetual victim complex. One of theirs was killed in a horrific manner, and they all feel bad about it, and want to do the one thing right-wingers all agree on universally: grift and profit off their fans and supporters for the most money possible.
  4. On the bright side they will be losing a lot of dead money this off-season, and will have the opportunity to retool the team to compete for next year. Getting a wild card 6th spot would be fun though, since they would play the Mariners and have a chance to play spoiler to them again.
  5. I'm sure he's a very fine person, I mean, Trump has dinner with him and his friends a while back. How bad could he be?
  6. I used to do this whenever Destiny would have a new DLC launch, was some good times. I plan on doing this whenever GTA6 or a new Fallout launches.

Hahaha, fuck ND and their annually overrated program. 0-2 to start, but they get 10 more garbage teams in a row they get to dominate and hope to sneak into the playoffs after everyone forgets their losses to begin the season.

Incredible finish. Will be something if they don't fuck up this XP...
  9. How the hell would Joe know anything about it? He's in Atlanta with the team.
  10. Pablo sets traps, idiots walk into them. I will never get tired of this. That idiotic Ballmer interview with ESPN was so incredibly stupid, he really set himself up for the kill shot. Dennis Wong may ultimately be the fall guy for the Clippers, but the Ballmer investments are hard to overlook. If he's willing to be a good soldier and relinquish his 1% ownership in the team, maybe he can take the brunt of the consequences for Ballmer.
  11. To be fair, it was a really dumb thing for an NBA Commissioner to say. It's demeaning to the players and fans that enjoy the games.
  12. I know all that, there's still about $250 million unaccounted for as to where it ended up. Did it all go to the owners embezzling it from the company, or did they use it for other purposes? It's a huge amount, and the Kawhi stuff is only a portion of it. If they did steal that much, what did they spend it on? There's a post on the NBA reddit that contains an investor presentation that looks like something from the show Silicon Valley. The vapid marketing slogans, calling it a movement not a business, etc etc. they were grifting the whole time, but what did they spend their money on? Yachts? Parties? Hookers and blow? Inquiring minds... https://www.reddit.com/r/nba/s/jApHtE64zm
  13. I would love to know what this company did with the other millions of dollars they received from other investors. Who did they pay? Was it funnelling money to political PACs? Was it hiding or laundering money for other wealthy people? Seems like this is just a small slice of the pie. If they really didn't plant any trees, then you have to wonder what their actual purpose was.
  14. Yeah, he should be in line for a big year. He also won't have Jalen Green in his way either, and will have more team-oriented players around him. His assists should go up by having KD taking passes from him instead of Green. The one issue with this team that I think will be a problem is it lacks in 3pt shooting. They will likely need to make a trade to get someone to help with that, and try to stay under the luxury tax. I'm not sure if that's possible, but we will see. There are a lot of interesting guys that could be available at the trade deadline, and this team has the picks to make an impactful trade without sacrificing continuity.
  15. If you think he's an ass now, just wait until he runs for president in 2028....
  16. Helldivers is basically Starship Troopers as a video game. The game has heavy themes of sarcastic democracy, where you, the invading force on these new planets occupied by sentient bugs, robots, etc are there to conquer them and "spread democracy" as they say. The "hey fascist" line, like many others in the game, is more of a joke as the human invading force using their insanely powerful clone army of space marines is the actual fascist regime. Whether or not the shooter knew any of that, or understood the nuance of the humor built into the games narrative is another question. The 500kg bomb is a popular strategem call-in though, maybe it was his favorite?
  17. I'm listening to this new pod at work and laughed out loud at this a few times. The absurdity of it all being this blatantly obvious and barely attempting to cover their tracks is just mind bottling. These guys are all so fucking unbelievably rich, and they don't have shady lawyers to cover up relationships with shell companies?? What a bunch of wealthy, arrogant, idiots. Fuck Ballmer, fuck Wong, fuck Kawhi and his handlers. They all deserve to be banned, fined, suspended, tarred and feathered. Fuck this shit, you have to drop the hammer on this merry band of dumbfucks or else every other rich owner will do the same.
  18. Weird how it looks like Mar a Lago is depicted in the picture. I didn't think Jeffery did anything at Trump's place?! How could this be??? For reference:
  19. The CBA is very light on the requirements to make a violation. Penalties include voiding any player contract extending or renegotiation and suspension of one year. Kawhi might finally get his comeuppance.
  20. I listened to the Pablo/Mark Cuban conversation, and I have to say I'm not really moved by Mark's assessment of the situation. He gives the example of how he has been scammed in the past in other business deals, how someone you trust may be working with someone else, and it lets your guard down on the due diligence, which may be the case with these Aspiration guys being so well connected. I don't really buy that argument, as Ballmer invested in this company several times, and made them the team's sponsor in a $300 million deal. They had to do some work investigating the people and the business before striking that deal. Mark also says Ballmer is like Warren Buffett in his being a smart finance and investor guy, and that being so obvious with the quid pro quo here would make no sense. It would be unbelievably stupid to do so in such a blatant and sloppy manner, that it couldn't possibly be him involved in it. Basically Ballmer is too smart to do something this dumb. I don't buy it, but whatever. Pablo brings up the Deandre Jordan episode from way back when he almost went to the Mavs, but backed out of the agreement and went to LA to sign with the Clippers at the last minute. Kind of a funny segment, since this was when someone famously claimed "Mark Cuban is driving around LA looking for Deandre Jordan!!!" Mark seems to think Ballmer learned his lesson with tampering with that one, and that he wouldn't do it again. I really don't buy that argument, rich people love to break the rules and use their wealth as a "get out of jail free" card. Mark says multiple times that if you can prove that Ballmer knew about this deal and funded it to any degree, that "He's Toast!" That the league would not allow that, and that the penalty would be severe. He doesn't believe there will be a smoking gun found between them, and I agree with that. I don't think Ballmer has a paper trail to him or the Clippers execs regarding this endorsement, it's just too poorly constructed to be done by anyone that knows what they are doing. It is much more likely to be an Uncle Dennis/Kawhi deal on the side that the team may or may not have known about. But that's the real issue here, linking the Clippers in any way to making this deal happen, or knowing that an absurd amount of money was going to their star player. Hard to think they wouldn't have found out at some point, and just left it alone, but it's possible. Anyways, I hope they all get the book thrown at them, and then Dolan and whoever owns the Nets next.
  21. I think there will be some significant punishment for this... Now let me head over to ESPN Bet and put $500 down on it.
  22. The person they named said that it's not them, and that they are a Red Sox fan. Not that I would expect someone to own up to it anyways, but trashing someone incorrectly on the Internet is a shitty thing to do.
  23. Fried, Woo and maybe Joe Ryan, but he got shelled his last couple of starts. Hunter has a good chance at it, just needs a couple more quality starts to seal top 3.
