  1. If Gov Tim Walz is the pick, I think he will do great. I watched a few interviews of him and other candidates this week, and I do like him a lot. Perusing his twitter feed there is a lot of really positive stuff that will resonate with many voters:
  2. The "laughin Kamala" thing reminds me of a criticism they had against Hillary in 2016. There was of course the same accusations against her like calling it a "cackle" a "hyena laugh" etc, but there was one particular instance they clung to. They framed a short clip as "laughing at getting a pedo off on a technicality." There was an interview Hillary gave many years before the election in which she talked about her time as a defense attorney. There was a segment of it where her and the interviewer laugh at the outcome of the case they mention. What they leave out is the context of it, where iirc the prosecution had requested DNA testing to get evidence from the victim's clothes. In the process, the testing company cut out all the pieces of the clothes they tested, and did not return those cutouts. She successfully argued that this was essentially destroying the evidence, as they couldn't corroborate the results themselves. She and the interviewer were laughing at how inexplicably stupid it was of the prosecution to destroy their main piece of evidence and lose the case due to it. Those details don't show up in the 8 second clips you see on social media, but that's what these things get reduced to by unserious people who simply don't care about the truth.
  3. I think we all know that when JD Vance enters the upholstery, it's no longer a couch and it becomes a loveseat.
  4. It's worth at least 3 haha's if you're high on coke
  5. It's been a while, but I think your point goes to show why it was so important to replace Biden. He wasn't really campaigning, he wasn't doing the dirty work of politics and mudslinging, he couldn't make a cogent argument during the debate and throw it back in Trump's face. Harris will do that, her VP pick will as well.
  6. I would hope that Harris being a former prosecutor is just as annoyed with Garland as this board is. I don't know who she would pick to replace him, but I would hope she has someone chomping at the bit to go after some of these guys.
  7. Absolutely, they have a ton of options that makes this VP pick a luxury at this point, and lets them focus on what will help win the election, rather than who their BMDs want to choose. It's also great to let this pick come slowly so that all these candidates get some more national exposure to the electorate and allow them to position themselves and the party for more gains in the future. You know some of these term limited governors are going to wind up in Cabinet positions or maybe running for a Senate seat in the future, and they could be doing great things down the line. Contrast that with the R's and their seemingly defacto pick for a few weeks was sunk by her own biography because she thought a story about putting down a dog was relevant to who she is. And their current VP pick is a guy who may or may not have American Pie'd a latex glove stuck in a couch cushion. Just incredible to behold.
  8. If Mark Kelly gets you Arizona, then he has to be the pick. I know he's well liked in that state and a lock for reelection in a few years, but the electoral math gets much easier if Arizona is in the blue column. I also love his background as a Navy Pilot who was flying missions in Desert Storm, and as a NASA pilot who flew several shuttle missions and spent a good amount of time aboard the ISS. The contrast of someone who actually fought for their country and appreciates science with the fat fuck orange mongoloid who constantly shits all over both of those subjects will let the Dems have a field day with this campaign. Oh and when Mark's wife was shot at a campaign event, nearly died and had severe brain injuries, he retired from NASA to go help her recover and do physical therapy instead of fucking porn stars and leaving her. The stark contrast and family values he can bring to the ticket would be a huge asset, and potentially set him up to be next in line after Harris.
  9. Even if Tucker comes back this season, I don't think he will be enough. Caratini being back tonight is helpful, but still need another bat to go far.
  10. This team is in dire need of another allstar hitter. The August schedule is not going to be kind to the Astros record.
  11. You just don't go into the Oakland Coliseum and expect to win a series.
  12. The NFL model doesn't bother me the least bit because there are only 17 games a season, then everything in the Playoffs is available on major networks. They also make the game available on your local station if you live in the team's home city area, which is the complete opposite of NBA/MLB blackout rules. This new NBA model is going to be a pain in the ass, because having 3+ games a week on 3 different platforms is annoying as fuck. MLB does this, and there was one stretch this year where the Astros had 4 games in 4 nights on 4 different platforms. Some were blacked out locally, because they want you to go sign up for a subscription to some streaming partner. It's a headache and frustrating as a fan/customer, and it's the reason I just cancelled my League Pass subscription. I don't want to deal with this dumb shit and trying to figure out where it's available every night, I'll pirate it when I feel like it. StreamEast FTW!
  13. Imagine how many times he wound up going home disappointed.
  14. I weep for Zack Greinke I was hoping the Royals would suck this year and pick him up for minimum to help him get those last few Ks to hit 3000. The A's or White Sox should reach out, it would be something for their fans to look forward to. They can get him in some starts, or let him take the mound instead of a position player in a blow out for fun.
  15. Harris polls really well with younger voters, blacks, Latinos, and people who hate both Trump/Biden. She really should be the obvious choice here, and the Democrats would immediately make many of those battleground states tossups at the very least. It would become "The Prosecutor vs The Felon", and that's a pretty snazzy campaign phase that even the dullest of minds out there can understand. She doesn't have anywhere near the immense amount of baggage that Hillary carried with her into the 2016 campaign, and she should have a few months to make her case for America. I doubt Trump debates her though, but that may work in her favor.
  16. There's also a deadline in each state for the parties to submit their formal nominees. Ohio was trying to keep Biden off their ballot because the DNC is happening after their date for submitting the names. They could use the same logic in several states to try to prevent Harris or whoever from even appearing on the ballot, which would hurt their chances in those states, and swing the popular vote to Trump.
