  1. Going through the Warriors > Lakers > Nuggets on the way to the Finals will be epic.
  2. Ja with a pass off the glass to himself and the putback was nice. Grizzlies aren't quite dead yet, still a lot of game left.
  3. The Spurs own a bunch of their picks, so it's not really all that attractive to tank. Unless they want to send him to the Spurs for their picks back, which has become a bit of a theme with some teams lately in trade speculations.
  4. Well, the estimates are already in the 6-7 billion range for a new Vegas team, and Cuban just sold the Mavs for a value of 4-4.5 billion. Unless you want to argue that Cuban undervalued his team, and sold at a 33% discount, I don't think the Dallas NBA team is going to fetch as much as Vegas. Plus you would be dealing with the loss of the "Mavericks" team as it moves to another city, and potentially losing the team history/Dirks legacy/trophy with it.
  5. OKC was the team that lobbied for the "BEST STATS EVAR!!!" MVP when Russ won it for stat padding like a motherfucker on a 7 seed. So I think it's only fitting that their guy SGA loses it to a guy who isn't stat padding and had a much more impressive season that anything Russ has done. Jokic is the best player in the league, and has been for about 5 years now, and should have beaten Embiid that one year, but voters are dumb. He needs this one, since Luka on the Lakers is gonna start getting all that West Coast love and he's probably going to net a few thanks to all their media hype.
  6. I don't think the Mavs will move to Vegas. If you're an NBA owner, would you want to sell a new expansion team in Vegas for 6-7 billion split 30 ways, or one in Dallas for 4-5 billion? The Adelsons bought that team and already set the price for it. Moving it doesn't net new money for the league, unless they include a relocation fee of 2 billion, but I doubt that happens. The league will find some other billionaires to buy the expansion teams in Vegas and Seattle at a price of 6-8 billion each.
  7. I think that's paying too much for KD. Booker, sure I would do that, but KD at this point is old, unreliable and a malcontent that can sour a locker room if he gets sad. He ain't worth the risk for the price the Suns want.
  8. Why? Why would you reward someone for doing something so stupid? Fans shouldn't interfere with the game, that shouldn't be a debate. That dude should be banned from future games for the season.
  9. He has a similar DGAF attitude about things, but he's still a bear you don't wanna poke. I don't know if TD would have ever responded like this.
  10. I don't know wtf the Lakers were doing here, but this is some All-star level dumb bullshit lol... https://x.com/iAnonPatriot/status/1910664178060177453
  11. We aren't going to win this game, so why not peg Tim Anderson with that 96 mph fastball?
  12. Lol, blaming Cuban for this trade is so weak and stupid. I know the wound is still fresh, but come on, he never would have even shopped Luka. And no owner would expect the buyer of a new team to come in and trade the teams best player for a mediocre return. Could you imagine if the new Celtics owner sent Tatum to the Clippers for Kawhi? Nobody in their right mind would do that, but that's similar to what happened here. I think this was a weird cost cutting measure by the new owners to avoid paying Luka a supermax, to reduce roster costs, avoid luxury tax and squeeze every penny possible out of this franchise. They are operating the team like a private equity firm that adopted the Pittsburgh Pirates management method, not an NBA fan or someone who cares about winning. Whether or not it has something to do with influencing Texas politics on gambling is still TBD, but it might be a part of the decision process. Just 3 days after this trade several high level Texas politicians, including Governor Abbott advocated publicly for legalization of gambling in Texas. I don't know if that conspiracy is true, but the timing sure is an interesting coincidence.
  13. It is fools gold, as it often is this time of the season when half the league plays G league level players. They lost to several playoff teams when they were full strength. Their only impressive win during that stretch was against the Cavs during their 4 game skid when Mitchell looked drunk or concussed. NYK didn't have brunson, Memphis didn't have Ja, etc... lots of guys have been shut down towards the end of the season. They aren't that good, it's just box score analysts making hype out of nothing impressive on the court. Another thing is they were 4-9 in their previous 13 games before this "run".
  14. Clips are trying to cling to a 1 point lead with 2 seconds left. They were up 9 with 3 minutes left in the game and haven't hit a shot since then, aside from 2 free throws. Kings have the ball after stealing the inbounds pass. Derozan gets the ball 30 feet out, tries to draw a foul jumping into zubac and doesn't get the call as time expires and he heaves up a shot with no hope. Dumb dumb dumb. Anyway, I don't think the Clips should scare any of the top 4 seeds in the playoffs, they are super sloppy.
  15. This Clippers/Kings game just got real close with 1 minute left.
  16. More likely they took Tim out to give the team a rest from him.
  17. Why the fuck did he run into Walker's ass? Trying to get an obstruction call? Dumb move, could have hurt someone. Great back to back plays by Pena, dude is a hell of a shortstop.
  18. I just turned this game on after the Angels took a 2-1 lead, and have been pleasantly surprised. Nice to see the bats wake up tonight.
  19. Awesome analysis on Adams' impact on this team. Dude is still a fucking mountain in the paint that almost nobody can match in strength. I hope we see some of this in the playoffs.
  20. So what are betting odds on the Suns hiring Mike Malone this offseason? Seems like the kind of thing they would do to "reload" and go for a title next year.
  21. If they are gonna go all the way, I hope they get to go through the Warriors, Lakers and Thunder on the way to the Finals. Knocking out each of those teams would be sweet, and build a lot of confidence in these young guys.
  22. Reed went 6-10 from 3 in this game, nice to see that. The Clippers played their starters for most of the game against our B team. Not sure who that says more about... Nice to see a few of the younger guys get a lot of good minutes against NBA quality players. I'm not sure why Jalen Green played 15 minutes, but he did, while all the other starters were rested. It seems the team is content to coast on from here and go into the playoffs well rested, and I'm happy to see that. There's no telling who is gonna be the 7th seed at this point, and they may as well just let the chips fall where they may. No point in trying to make something happen when they don't need to. The Warriors just lost to the Rockets, and just lost to the Spurs at home tonight, they aren't that scary. This team is gonna be a force if they are allowed to play tough defense in the playoffs.
