  1. They still have Chris Paul's 30m deal on the books, which I believe has an option for later this week. Then they still have some other contracts like Kuminga and whatever to make up the difference. Not sure what LAC would want, but there's no way for GS to offer that amount with outright cap space.
  2. Rumor is they are going to be shopping Randle for a new Center or something. He's on the block at least. Not sure what they could get for him though, he's never struck me as a great player and he makes 29 and 31m the next 2 years.
  3. This is the year to trade FVV if you can, he's basically an expiring deal because nobody is going to opt-in to his 45m next year. It could be used as a salary dump for a team that needs to drop tax money (Suns, Warriors, Twolves). If there is a way to get Booker or KD, it might be worth it, but I think they would need to secure another All-star to really have a chance at getting past the 2nd round.
  4. This ESPN article lays it out plainly: https://www.espn.com/nba/insider/story/_/id/40433333/nba-trade-grades-bridges-knicks-cooking-houston I don't see why the Rockets would do this, I would fucking DARE the Nets to try and be good next year. Go spend some money and max out OG Anunoby or Klay Thompson if you want. It would blow up in their faces, just like this year did. I would gladly take a team on track for the 4-9th worst record and take that shot at a top 4 pick in a loaded draft over the future 1sts from the Suns and Mavs. Luka is 25, and he's not likely to leave Dallas, so I don't see those being valuable. The Suns are just a year or two away from the wheels falling off, so maybe one of those picks land a bounty in 27 or 29.
  5. Nice pickup for the Knicks, but all those unprotected picks is potentially Rudy Gobert levels of risk. They should be top 3 in the East this year though.
  6. Russell Westbrook got an MVP doing the same shit, and his stans were all "TRIPLE DOUBLE MAN! STATS DON'T LIE! AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!"
  7. Ah well, anyways... Time to go watch the end of the Stanley Cup Game 7.
  8. "At least we lost to an SEC school, so it's not like we really lost at all!" - Aggie probably
  9. No 12th man? Might as well waive a white flag.
  10. Oh wow, you don't see that often.
  11. Mariners choked away a 3-1 lead in the 8th to lose 4-3. Nice.
  12. Sources: Cleveland Cavaliers hiring Kenny Atkinson as coach The Cleveland Cavaliers are hiring Golden State Warriors assistant Kenny Atkinson as the franchise's next coach, sources told ESPN on Monday. The sides have started work on a contract, and a deal is expected to be reached soon, sources said. The Cavaliers' process had been pared down to Atkinson and New Orleans Pelicans associate head coach James Borrego, sources said. Borrego, who worked the past season with new Detroit president Trajan Langdon in New Orleans, is now expected to become a prominent candidate in the Pistons' coaching search, sources told ESPN. Atkinson, the top assistant with the Warriors, takes over a Cavaliers roster that advanced to the Eastern Conference semifinals and won 99 regular-season games in the past two seasons. He joins an organization that includes two key players who blossomed during his tenure as the Brooklyn Nets coach -- Jarrett Allen and Caris LeVert. Cavaliers president of basketball operations Koby Altman and general manager Mike Gansey are especially eager for Atkinson's reputable player development program to impact young center Evan Mobley, sources said. Cleveland's offseason priority turns fully to securing All-Star guard Donovan Mitchell on a contract extension. He has one year left before he can exercise an early termination option. Atkinson was 118-190 in three-plus years with the Nets, inheriting a full rebuild and showing improvement each season until he resigned after an injury-plagued 2019-20 season. He spent the 2020-21 season with the LA Clippers as an assistant before joining Steve Kerr's staff as the top assistant in 2021. Two years ago, Atkinson briefly accepted the Charlotte Hornets' head-coaching job before changing his mind and remaining with the Warriors. Atkinson spent nine seasons as an NBA assistant -- four with the New York Knicks, three with the Atlanta Hawks before returning to the assistant coaching ranks with the Clippers and Warriors. https://www.espn.com/nba/story/_/id/40420401/sources-cleveland-cavaliers-hiring-kenny-atkinson-coach

  15. Didn't realize it was a 1:10 start time today, but I see things are going well so far. Might be the first 3 game series of the year where they scored 4+ runs in every game.
