  1. Twins lose and are eliminated, Tigers win and take the 5th spot, KC loses falls to 6. 2 games left, but it would appear likely that the Astros will be hosting KC next week. Probably the best matchup possible, and then Cleveland in the second round. Orioles and Yankees should get to duke it out on the other side, looks like a great setup for the stros.
  2. Tried to find a good shot of the drawing scene, and this meme popped up. You're welcome Immamac
  3. Whoa, that's quite a trade. New starting 5 for the Knicks looks interesting. Not sure how they will do under Thibs, but they should be in contention for the 2nd seed behind the Celtics again. Still not enough to overcome the Celtics at full strength.
  4. Don't you mean, there is a massive hurricane about to hit the Southeast, and Trump's people decided to move up the rallies a few days to avoid the storm?
  5. 100k in bribes and free travel is illegal? Someone should tell the Supreme Court that...
  6. I got the Wordle in 2, never played this Quordle game before. 7. Nice, taking the lead and they got Kirby over 50 pitches in the third inning.
  8. I think that's code for "I want to be the deciding vote for Majority, and get some specific commitee/chair appointments for it." It's like the annoying, amoral Manchin type of politics, but Dems can't be upset when a guy does it from a deep red state they would never win.
  9. Pete sits down for a long and deep conversation with Ezra Klein covering all sorts of topics related to politics. Very interesting discussion between them, and it's amazing to see how Pete is well prepared and thoughtful in every reply. I really hope that one day he's in a race for a higher profile office, he's such an authentic and empathetic person, truly a rare breed in politics these days.
  10. Fuck yeah! Enjoy your sombrero JP!
  11. Wow, just imagine if we had him as our third outfielder all year...

  14. ESPNs David Schoenfield graded every teams season. Only 4 teams got an A- or higher (Cleveland, Milwaukee, Philly and KC). Here's the Astros blurb: Houston Astros: B The dynasty is bending, but it's not yet broken. The Astros looked lost the first couple of months of the season and fell 10 games behind Seattle on June 18. The rotation was hobbled and those who were healthy weren't pitching well. The offense was scuffling. Luckily, Houston was in the AL West and the Mariners and Rangers failed to meet expectations. The Astros righted the ship, even with Kyle Tucker injured, as Framber Valdez and Hunter Brown got hot, Alex Bregman broke out from a slow start and Yordan Alvarez kicked into Superman mode (.347/.443/.648 from June through August). This isn't the same powerhouse team that won the World Series with 106 wins in 2022, but it's good enough to win it all. Tucker is back, and the Astros are 9-0 in games that deadline acquisition Yusei Kikuchi has started. They will be seeking their eighth straight trip to the ALCS. I'm not betting against them.
  15. 19! 19 hits! Ah Ah Ah!

  17. lol, that throw by Dubon is gonna be on a low light reel.
  18. Being a bullpen guy is a lot different than a starter. I think he could give 100% for 1-2 innings rather than 80% trying to stretch for 5-6. Age and/or injuries have caught up with him, but he can still hit ~96 on his fastball. It's a completely different type of preparation for a game when you only need 3 outs, and I think he's smart enough and has the tools to adjust for it. If roster spots are in short supply, then maybe he gets the axe, but I would rather see him used in short stints over the other guys at the back of the pen.
  19. Do you really think he's a worse option for 1-2 innings vs Ort, King, Scott or Turd Ferguson? I think I would rather have him in the playoffs over any of those guys. He would have to accept the role though.
  20. Windy has that LeBron/Rich Paul hookup though, he could rival Shams if he can get the early info on guys in that network. They need to come up with a clever nickname for his "bomb" tweets though, maybe we can brainstorm some on the board and submit them? Brian Blast Air Burst Windy Whammy Blowy Bomb
