  1. Get your rally caps ready, Chas is on second!
  2. I think it depends on the player. If you're a guy like Singleton, Meyers, Dubon, Abreu, etc, don't swing. If you're a badass hitter in top 4 of the lineup, swing away.
  3. They are additive for each drawing between the Rockets/Nets picks, so 6% chance of getting pick #1 in this chart. Then you have 6.5% for #2, 7.1% for #3 and 7.8% for #4. If you want to add all those together, then you have to divide it by 400, not 100, because it's 4 drawings. Nets have a 5.05% chance of top 4, Rockets pick is 1.8%, and you can add those together for a 6.85% chance of a top 4 pick between the two. The AVG column on the right is the average draft position for that pick based on the odds.
  4. That's not how it works. You have a ~5/100 chance 4 times, which is like 20/400, or 5% overall for the Nets pick. Rockets have a very slim chance of getting their pick upgraded, so it will likely be the 9th overall pick from the Nets and nothing else.
  5. They had significant injuries to Mobley, Mitchell and Garland throughout the year, and were only 1 game out of third place. They put in a half-hearted effort today against the Hornets and basically tanked the game, since it meant nothing. Not exactly a great argument if you're trying to say they aren't a top 3 team in the East. The only team that may have had worse injury luck in the East was Philly. Giannis missed 9 games, Dame 10, and they were 1 game better than Cleveland. Whoopty doo.
  6. Probably the worst called game I have witnessed, strike zone was 4 feet wide at times, and then not on the very next pitch. It's like they need to put an ump bump (is that a thing?) behind home plate so he knows where to stand, because it seems like he's moving over a foot every few pitches. Love the 3 incorrect strikes against Langford as the callout on the side. He would be an embarrassment to the league if they actually cared about accuracy, or maybe they are keeping him around so they can make a better case for robo-umps.
  7. Altuve is right, this game was a blueprint for the plan going forward. If they can score 7 runs in the 7th every game, they should be able to win 90+ by the end of the season. I really like that plan and hope they continue it.
  8. Yup, you can thank KD for that. He did the same to the Suns with the stupid ass Beal trade too. At least the Nets have some hope in the Suns falling apart in the future, but otherwise the next few years are pretty bleak. Look at that: Suns get: Bradley Beal Jordan Goodwin Isaiah Todd Wizards get: Chris Paul Landry Shamet Bilal Coulibaly (No. 7 pick, via Pacers) 2024 first-round pick swap 2024 second-round pick 2025 second-round pick 2026 first-round pick swap 2026 second-round pick 2027 second-round pick 2028 first-round pick swap 2028 second-round pick 2030 first-round pick swap 2030 second-round pick Pacers get: Jarace Walker (No. 8 pick, via Wizards) Future second-round pick (via Wizards) Future second-round pick (via Suns)
  9. Sorry, yeah that's right for 2024, I was reading the 2025 scenarios.
  10. I believe they have the swap option with Brooklyn, but also 1-10 protection with OKCs swap. So basically they will get the best pick between themselves and Brooklyn. Brooklyn will likely get the OKC pick, while OKC picks 12th in the Rockets spot. Houston probably gets 9th overall, unless they get lucky. They have about a 6% chance at top 4 each time the lotto balls drop. From realGM "2025 first round draft pick from Oklahoma City or Brooklyn (Houston outgoing to Oklahoma City or Brooklyn) Oklahoma City has the right to swap its 2025 1st round pick for Houston's 2025 1st round pick protected for selections 1-10 or the L.A. Clippers' 2025 1st round pick; Houston then has the right to swap its pick or the Oklahoma City pick for Brooklyn's 2025 1st round pick; if the Houston pick falls within its protected range, then Houston's obligation to Oklahoma City will be extinguished and Houston will instead have the right to swap its pick for the Brooklyn pick"
  11. He probably didn't pay off all the debt, as he was only able to steal so much at a time.
  12. It's locked into the 9th spot for lottery odds. 50% chance it's 9th, 25% chance it's 10th, ~5% chance it jumps to top 1-4. Not bad, but there is also a slim chance the Rockets' pick ends up in the top 4 too and the swap doesn't matter.
  13. Here's a crazy idea, move Seth Martinez to the starting rotation, and maybe send Hunter back to AAA.
  14. Good for him. Crazy to think that Jrue and Dame are both 33. Milwaukee will be paying Dame about 20m a year more for the next 4 years vs what Boston will be paying Jrue. Jrue Holiday agrees to 4-year, $135M extension with Celtics
  15. Yeah I could see that, but they may be waiting until after he can't earn a full year of service for being on the roster the rest of the season to maintain control. He's also the next man up for any injuries to other players, so it wouldn't hurt to have 1 more guy to slot in the first base rotation. Belt's from Lufkin, which isn't too far from Houston, he went to UT for college, and his birthday is tomorrow (36). I could see him signing a deal for cheap to come play in Houston and have a solid role in our lineup playing about 2/3 of the games. He did make 9.3m with the Blue Jays last season, so maybe 3m is a bit of a low ball for him, but could 5m get it done? Just don't give him a 3 year deal and we should be OK.
  16. Go get Brandon Belt for like 1 year 3m or whatever. He was good in 100 games for the Blue Jays last year and he's a lefty. A very cheap solution to platoon 1b for the time being. DFA Singleton to make room, and just hope Abreu can figure things out with some rest. No way do they cut him at 19m a year unless his arm falls off.
  17. Fun fact So when does he get traded? He's still an excellent player, and doesn't appear to be declining much yet.
  18. Why didn't Hader pitch the 10th? Is every reliever completely incapable of pitching more than 1 inning?
  19. Because he swung at it and it did not hit the bat But the hands are part of the bat!!!
