  1. Am I reading this right? They play against Portland twice in a row as a back to back? It's nice that it's at home, but I don't think I have ever seen that before. Just an unusual schedule choice.
  2. Darryl Morey +120
  3. Because if you ask most kids, "do you want more classes" they will generally answer no. We also have a huge issue with teen pregnancy in Texas, and a lack of sex ed is a root cause of it. Besides that it's idiotic to ask kids to pick their core curriculum. Heath class is a broad subject that should be taught. This isn't an art class where you can choose your favorite instrument or form of art.
  4. Cyfair ISD 6-10th grade students were given a survey this week to ask if they wanted to take a Health class. The results, which will likely be a majority of "no", will likely be used to argue to eliminate the class. Yay democracy! It's a shame we don't have some department that sets standards for this kind of thing at a national level to ensure basic understanding of important subjects for all high school graduates. Oh well, I'm sure the Internet will teach them.
  5. It's nice to have 3 all-star caliber guards to rotate with.
  6. I remember turning on my car one day and being extremely confused by immediately being blasted with some Tejano music. Where did this come from? What happened to 101??? Twas a sad day. Stupid Clear Channel, you greedy fucking assholes.
  7. Yeah, good for you, you're close to being done. I have a kindergartener and a 3 year old in Cyfair ISD, which now has a board of 6-1 Christian Nationalists. 3 are up for reelection in 2025, so fingers crossed for a 4-3 flip 🤞 I'm not really looking forward to this, but my job keeps us in the Houston area. If the vouchers bill passes, we may have to look at private education options instead of to avoid the idiocy being forced on the 120 schools in our district. Unfortunately, most of the private schools I know about in our area are all religious based.
  8. Yeah, he's gonna be awesome as the centerpiece of the future Paul George trade!
  9. Exactly, it's just one of those games where they were abnormally hitting 3s at the highest clip possible for that volume. A couple more defenders for the Cavs and they probably disrupt things enough to swing it in their favor. A 7 game series between these two will be something to watch, but no shame in that loss. Boston played great and the Cavs kept it close in the 4th. Point differential loss of only 3, so if they win the next 2 NIST games by a bunch, they can get in as the 4th seed.
  10. This is like the one single instance of NBA competition where using divisions would actually make sense, and they dropped the ball. I suspect it was a way for the NBA to create some "Group of Death" situations. Celtics are shooting 50% from 3, while the Cavs are 0-6. It will even out soon.
  11. 15-0 Cavs @ the 11-3 Celtics tonight on TNT at 6pm CST. It's gonna be a big test for the Cavs, and it will likely determine who comes out of that division in the dumb Play-In Tournament. I don't know who made the play-in tournament brackets, but I think it's really dumb that they didn't keep it as the Divisions.
  12. Ty Jerome is gonna be in the 6th man of the year conversation. Dude is a true diamond in the rough. Can't believe this guy bounced around several teams his first few years, and then turned into this kind of player. He basically subbed in for Donovan Mitchell tonight and the team didn't miss a beat. I can't imagine his current shooting is going to remain consistent all season, but it's fun while it lasts 58/54/83 splits is so good for a guy coming off the bench.
  13. From The Ballad Of Buster Scruggs. The first ~20 minutes of that movie is amazing.
  14. That's from the end of a brilliant Curb Your Enthusiasm episode called Palestinian Chicken from Season 8, Ep 3. There's a Persian chicken place that Larry and Jeff absolutely love, but the problem is that it's very pro-Palestine and anti-Israel. He gets a some credit for fighting with Super Dave in the parking lot over wearing his yamaka to it and wins over the crowd of anti-semites in the store. Larry ends up sleeping with a beautiful Persian lady he met there, despite his heritage. However, a conflict develops between a Jewish Deli next door and the chicken restaurant. The protesters are lined up with his jewish friends on one side pleading with him to join them, and his persian slam piece offering a 3way with her sister on the other. So the episode ends with him weighing the options and ultimately cuts to credits before he decides, which leaves the viewer wondering what option he chose. I think most everyone I know would have gone with the chicken place. Truly a remarkable 30 minutes of comedy excellence, and Larry's personal favorite episode of Curb.
  15. So is Hegseth for or against bombing cartels in Mexico and Central America? Because that will be suggested by Trump again, once he needs to fan the flames of fear against gangs coming through the border.
  16. You can't deny that this timeline does have a great sense of humor.
  17. Thought of some more titles: Con Air Force One It's PAT-thological From Russia with No Lube The Manchurian Can-of-Fucking-Shit
  18. I'm sure the Federalist society has already written Thomas' majority opinion overturning this precedent, and probably sprinkled in something fun like disbanding unions and rescinding the authority of OSHA.
  19. Just imagine if Phoenix never made the Beal trade and they had all that ammo to get in the Giannis trade game. KD, Giannis and Booker would be a hell of a core. Coulda been something special.
  20. We need a good title for this chapter. Donald Trump 2: Grifter Boogaloo! Donald Trump: He Really Puts the 'Con' in 'Conservative'! Trump Trek: Going to Depths of Depravity Where No Man has Gone Before!
  21. Can't wait to see Flynn nominated for Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff...
  22. Does that mean we are going to have primaries for local School Boards???
  23. Some hilarious options for White House Press Secretary: Kari Lake, Laura Loomer, Alina Habba, Scott Jennings and Steven Cheung. Each one with an equally awful personality for it, who will only be combative with reporters every day. Can't wait to see all the other shitbirds this guy picks! The Rubio pick creates an interesting situation, because Meatball Ron gets to choose his replacement. Since Ron is on his way out as he's term limited at the Gov position, he could appoint himself to the seat and give up his current role. But he would have to run again in 2026 to secure the last 2 years of the senate term, then again in 2028 to get 6 more years, but he would probably shoot for the R nomination for President at that point. Those 2026 midterms are gonna be a shitshow for Republicans after 2 years of Trump bullshit, I anticipate a significant shift and snapback from 2024. Adding another Senate seat to the mix, even in Florida, might not be a great idea for Rs. 2018 was the year the Dems picked up 40 seats in the house, Rick Scott narrowly won his Florida seat and Ted Cruz nearly lost to Beto.
