  1. Eh, it was a fun season at least. Lots of hope for the future, lots of draft picks to use, and 70 million in cap space to spend this off-season. Plenty of opportunities to improve and go 6-0 in the division next year shooting for a top 2 seed.
  2. Need that number 1 seed next year so we don't have to deal with these cold and shitty stadiums up north.
  3. A young team makes a lot of stupid mistakes, but hopefully they will clean that up next year. Way too many dead ball penalties.
  4. Yeah can't be upset with this so far, they are hanging in there. Offense has been poor, defense is doing better than I expected.
  5. If they had traded for Hader instead of Graveman, they might have. It would have taken more assets, but going to the bullpen early wouldn't have been as scary for Dusty.
  6. This sounds like a great premise for a Jon Lajoie song.
  7. The Angels are pretty dumb, maybe they can find a way to send Montero, Graveman's dead money, McCullers and Meyers to them for Trout! TIME TO GO ALL IN!!!
  8. Wow, I had to go verify that tweet wasn't a fake account just to be sure. Can't believe they just added 19 million a year to the payroll. Let's hope this means they are about to move Montero somewhere else... Edit: by the way, is there any sort of cap relief for the team when a player goes on IR for the year like Graveman did? 8 million is a good chunk of change. I know in the NBA a team can apply for an exception, and they are often rewarded with a 50% of the cost of that player reduced from their cap calculation that year. They still have to pay the injured player their money, but they can use that free space for free agents, traded players or to reduce their tax hit.
  9. They should create an ROTC transfer portal each year. Let the good ones with a 3.5+ GPA transfer out to Westpoint or wherever, and let them swap back all the >2.5 GPAs on their end. It would be like a D1/D2 feeder system, but for military academies.
  10. Great, now go get Dan Quinn to complete the set.
  11. PFF matchup preview for the Ravens game: https://www.pff.com/news/nfl-houston-texans-vs-baltimore-ravens-key-storylines-matchups-and-injury-news-ahead-of-the-divisional-round
  12. I forgot to mention another movie that came out when I was high school and had a profound impact on me as a teenage boy: Wild Things (1998). I know I never turned it off when I saw it on HBO, Denise Richards was right up there with Shannon Elizabeth on the list of iconic hot chicks of the late 90s.
  13. Ah here's another actor I didn't recognize before, Russell's daughter that George is caught gawking at was played by Denise Richards. She was not 15 as the show said, she was 21 at the time, which is a fun age. "Get a good look, Costanza?"
  14. And here she is on Sesame Street:
  15. Nice pickup for the Pacers, but they won't have Hali back for another 1-2 weeks at least. It might take them a little while to gel, but I think Indy will be one of those annoying 4-6 seed playoff teams that the top 3 seeds want to avoid.
  16. Saw Barbie last night, quite a lot of fun and some good laughs. It contained a surprising amount of Matrix references and similarities. I thought it was a good comedy, but I didn't think anything about it was Oscar worthy. It will be interesting to see if it gets any noms. The set design and story were great, and the cast was very entertaining. 6/10 Watched Oppenheimer too, and really can't say enough great things about it. I hope RDJ wins for supporting actor, he was excellent. It's one of those movies that is really long, but the pacing and intensity keeps you so engaged that you don't feel like it's 3 hours long. The cast is epic, so many actors you will recognize from all over. Such an excellent way of telling a story that would otherwise seem dry and somewhat boring, but was constantly full of tension, intrigue and interesting dialogue. 10/10
  17. Maybe if it was a hyena...
  18. I would like to see them re-sign Derek Barnett too, he's been a great addition to the DE position. Kaimi is also a free agent, so if they don't keep him (he was making 4.4m) then they need a new kicker. Cameron Johnston the Punter is also a free agent. Made 2.6m last year. Need to sign him or a new one. Long Snapper Jon Weeks, who has been with the team for like 15 years or something, is also a free agent, but he's like 38. I guess he could play another year, but I would guess he retires soon. (he makes vet min 1.3m) Cashman would be nice to have if he's cheap, but the guy has missed a lot of games in his short career. He's a huge injury hazard and would be best served as a rotational LB/special teams guy if he is re-signed. They need to find a Demeco Ryans type player to be the QB of the defense! There are a lot of interesting free agents out there next year, with something like 40m+ to spend after re-signing some important pieces, I think this team could attract some really good talent. I'd like to see them get some veterans in some important positions like Safety, LB, and maybe an interior O-lineman if they can snag one. They should still draft those positions, but if they can get a good vet, that moves the priority down a few rounds. Tons to work with here, I just hope they go for it while CJ is still on a rookie deal.
  19. It has to be Phoebe. Nobody would name a dog Monica or Rachel.
