  1. Yup, you can thank KD for that. He did the same to the Suns with the stupid ass Beal trade too. At least the Nets have some hope in the Suns falling apart in the future, but otherwise the next few years are pretty bleak. Look at that: Suns get: Bradley Beal Jordan Goodwin Isaiah Todd Wizards get: Chris Paul Landry Shamet Bilal Coulibaly (No. 7 pick, via Pacers) 2024 first-round pick swap 2024 second-round pick 2025 second-round pick 2026 first-round pick swap 2026 second-round pick 2027 second-round pick 2028 first-round pick swap 2028 second-round pick 2030 first-round pick swap 2030 second-round pick Pacers get: Jarace Walker (No. 8 pick, via Wizards) Future second-round pick (via Wizards) Future second-round pick (via Suns)
  2. Sorry, yeah that's right for 2024, I was reading the 2025 scenarios.
  3. I believe they have the swap option with Brooklyn, but also 1-10 protection with OKCs swap. So basically they will get the best pick between themselves and Brooklyn. Brooklyn will likely get the OKC pick, while OKC picks 12th in the Rockets spot. Houston probably gets 9th overall, unless they get lucky. They have about a 6% chance at top 4 each time the lotto balls drop. From realGM "2025 first round draft pick from Oklahoma City or Brooklyn (Houston outgoing to Oklahoma City or Brooklyn) Oklahoma City has the right to swap its 2025 1st round pick for Houston's 2025 1st round pick protected for selections 1-10 or the L.A. Clippers' 2025 1st round pick; Houston then has the right to swap its pick or the Oklahoma City pick for Brooklyn's 2025 1st round pick; if the Houston pick falls within its protected range, then Houston's obligation to Oklahoma City will be extinguished and Houston will instead have the right to swap its pick for the Brooklyn pick"
  4. He probably didn't pay off all the debt, as he was only able to steal so much at a time.
  5. It's locked into the 9th spot for lottery odds. 50% chance it's 9th, 25% chance it's 10th, ~5% chance it jumps to top 1-4. Not bad, but there is also a slim chance the Rockets' pick ends up in the top 4 too and the swap doesn't matter.
  6. Here's a crazy idea, move Seth Martinez to the starting rotation, and maybe send Hunter back to AAA.
  7. Good for him. Crazy to think that Jrue and Dame are both 33. Milwaukee will be paying Dame about 20m a year more for the next 4 years vs what Boston will be paying Jrue. Jrue Holiday agrees to 4-year, $135M extension with Celtics
  8. Yeah I could see that, but they may be waiting until after he can't earn a full year of service for being on the roster the rest of the season to maintain control. He's also the next man up for any injuries to other players, so it wouldn't hurt to have 1 more guy to slot in the first base rotation. Belt's from Lufkin, which isn't too far from Houston, he went to UT for college, and his birthday is tomorrow (36). I could see him signing a deal for cheap to come play in Houston and have a solid role in our lineup playing about 2/3 of the games. He did make 9.3m with the Blue Jays last season, so maybe 3m is a bit of a low ball for him, but could 5m get it done? Just don't give him a 3 year deal and we should be OK.
  9. Darude Sandstorm
  10. Go get Brandon Belt for like 1 year 3m or whatever. He was good in 100 games for the Blue Jays last year and he's a lefty. A very cheap solution to platoon 1b for the time being. DFA Singleton to make room, and just hope Abreu can figure things out with some rest. No way do they cut him at 19m a year unless his arm falls off.
  11. Fun fact So when does he get traded? He's still an excellent player, and doesn't appear to be declining much yet.
  12. Why didn't Hader pitch the 10th? Is every reliever completely incapable of pitching more than 1 inning?
  13. Because he swung at it and it did not hit the bat But the hands are part of the bat!!!
  14. How is that not a foul ball?
  15. KC went 1-2 against the Orioles and Twins, then won 4 against the horribad White Sox. This should be an easy 2-1/3-0 series for the Astros, but we know that nothing for this team is easy. KC has a +19 run differential and 15 of that came from the White Sox series.
  16. That reminds me, tonight would be a good time to start a new game of New Vegas... This show looks like it's going to be amazing. Hopefully they don't fuck it up like RoP.
  17. I loved the old 90s X-Men cartoon on the old Fox Kids Saturday morning block. I never thought the animation was bad or had any issues with it, but I was born in 84 and was very young when it came out. Also loved the 90s Spiderman and Batman series. My son is 5 and I can't wait until he's a little older to rewatch all that stuff with him, plus all the good Marvel movies that have come out in the last 20 years. X-Men 97 feels similar to the old series style, and I do appreciate the nostalgia it brings. The stories are good so far, but I wish there were more episodes. I didn't realize it was just 1 a week, but here's the schedule for anyone else that was interested: Here's the official release schedule for X-Men '97: Episode 1: Streaming as of March 20 Episode 2: Streaming as of March 20 Episode 3: Streaming as of March 27 Episode 4: Streaming as of April 3 Episode 5: Premieres on April 10 Episode 6: Premieres on April 17 Episode 7: Premieres on April 24 Episode 8: Premieres on May 1 Episode 9: Premieres on May 8 Episode 10: Premieres on May 15
  18. Although ERA-135 would make for a good vanity plate. If he were my brother, that's what he would be finding under the Christmas tree.
  19. Crazy game, but the bats were alive and they pulled off the W. Vic Caratini had some good at-bats, not just the homer, but they really should start him at first base and give Abreu a rest. There was one at-bat where he fought off like 7 balls and had a really long plate appearance. I love it when guys do that and wear down a pitcher. Even if he got no hits, at least making consistent contact on foul balls is better than whiffing at pitches 18 inches off the plate. Yordan kicked ass as per usual. He had a slow start in that Yankees series, but seems to have found his stride. Seth Martinez did awesome coming into a terrible situation. The Bullpen gave up 0 runs in 8 2/3 innings. Pretty pretty pretty good. Salvaging the series at 2-2 is not bad, as it ties the Rangers with the Angels for first place in the division and the Astros are only 2.5 games back. Still plenty of games to go, lots of things to be excited and worried about. Need to make some adjustments and keep grinding. Verlander will be back soon, and that should solidify the rotation for a while.
  20. Glad to hear it! I may take my wife next Saturday for a night out, as we always enjoy good sushi restaurants. Any specific menu items worth trying?
  21. Larry did do one episode of that show in its first season, and it's a great show for anyone who's a fan of Jerry's guest. When they're sitting in the coffee shop laughing it up over breakfast and Larry says to him, "You've finally done it, a show about nothing!" Great moment, love the two of them together. Nice of them to bring back Jerry to help tie-up the loose end of the show last night.
  22. The Sweat news probably does move him down or off the board for the Texans, but someone else will pick him up in the late 2nd or early 3rd. Jalen Carter was drafted by the Eagles last year, despite having pending legal issues with street racing that killed 2 people. He was runner-up to Will Anderson for Defensive Rookie of the Year voting. I'm sure some teams wish they hadn't passed on him over character concerns.
