  1. Sucks to hear that, good luck to him and his family. He starred in a mature version of short film about Power Rangers, which was pretty cool. Too bad it didn't get picked up for a full length film, I would watch this. Check it out.
  2. Absolutely, he was a rookie, very young and raw last year. I don't think he's going to become the floor general over an off-season, but if he can contribute now is the time to rpicex. The only issue is that if he isn't ready at the start of the season, and he falls on his face, it will hurt his trade value if he's needs to be part of a trade. Hindsight being what it is, it sure would be nice to have Castle now...
  3. Is that a real picture? That is an absurd number of cops. Just set some fireworks on a timer near this place, then go rob all the banks in Dallas while every cop withing 50 miles is assisting with this ICE investigation...
  4. Weapons - Good horror film. Being a dad with small kids makes some parts of it hit hard in the feels. Some jump scares, lots of creepy stuff and an intriguing plot that slowly unravels. The Materialists - eh, it was an ok drama. As the name implies it explores the shallowness of rich people and the sort of inhuman way they value relationships. The way the main character sets them up on dates via a high level matchmaking company is interesting, there are several scenes with her sizing up the ideal 'match' for someone and trying to set expectations in a gentle way. The absurdity of some of the clients requests is amusing, but feels very realistic. Dakota Johnson's conversations with other people is very revealing of how she views her clients, and overall she's just as bad about dehumanizing them as they are. Basically everyone is shitty, every relationship is a transaction, love is a product of narcissism and fades as soon as the benefits of the relationship do. Everything sucks! Hooray! Luckiest Man In America - It's entertaining, especially if you watched the Press Your Luck (No Whammy) show as a kid. A bit of nostalgia mixed with the fun of the game show. The movie takes a lot of liberties with the true story, and adds some unnecessary drama that didn't take place at all. Still a fun flick. The Naked Gun 2025 - second time watching it, still hilarious, highly recommend it for people who enjoy comedy. Honey Don't - it was OK. Not a terribly compelling story, but fans of Margaret Qualley and Aubrey Plaza's "talent" should watch it, or at least a few scenes. It's a Cohen movie, so has great style, casting, sets, etc, but wasn't that interesting to me. Superman 2025 - loved it, it was the best Superman movie. I haven't ever really liked any of the old movies, but this one was great. I'm a big fan of James Gunn, and I love what he does. His ability to balance the action, comedy and story is so good for superhero movies. Love the actors in this, Lex Luthor was especially great. Highly recommend it to anyone who even remotely likes Superman.
  5. Jose Alvarado would be a nice option. Dude has been stuck on the Pelicans for years, and is probably much better than it seems. Put him with great players and he could be a valuable piece for a cheap price. I like the TJ McConnell and Pritchard options too, cheap guys that can make an impact. Derrick White would be an incredible get, but I don't see the Celtics trading him. He would cost a lot of picks, probably 5 firsts, including all the Suns picks. I don't see the Rockets doing that. Hopefully Reed steps up between now and December 15th, and makes this decision unnecessary.
  6. Yeah, there's definitely a bit of nihilism that sets in when it feels like nothing matters besides your own religiosity, because the end is so near. I remember arguing with my mom that I didn't need to do school/homework, since the Rapture was going to be soon. It did not go over well, but as a kid, I really thought that made sense. It's a weird way to live, and it devalues your time on Earth when you constantly think life is about to end. Even weirder when you think people are actually hoping life ends and they move on to the after-life.
  7. I remember being a 10, and my mom preparing for the rapture in September of 1994. She was so sure of it because some guy just knew it was going to happen and predicted the day, and said it would be in the evening around 6pm. Time came and went, nothing happened, pastor guy claims he must have mistaken something, but the new date is very soon! So for the next few years every few months, there would be a new FOR SURE Rapture Day coming! It was super weird, and a lot of why I hate religion now. That's a really weird and evil thing to tell a kid about, set expectations and then have them fail every time. It undermines the credibility of the parent and the religion, and will cause a whole lot of questions that may otherwise not come up. Anyways, it's been 30 years and my mom still comes up with some wacky rapture predictions a few times a year. She's got the faith and intelligence of Lloyd Christmas.
  8. Fuck, that is a real kick in the balls. Don't think much of anyone will be truly available until the trade deadline. Chris Paul can still run an offense and makes 3.6m with the Clippers this year, who are embroiled in the Aspiration scandal, maybe they could get him? If nothing else, he would be an awesome mentor to the young guys. Harden is making 39 million, which would be difficult to acquire, but he could also be made available for the same reasons. Maybe move Alpie to Point Guard/Forward? Quinten Grimes is still a RFA with the 76ers. They could offer him the full 14m for 1 year, which Philly could match, or they could work a trade somehow. And yeah, Westbrook is still available, but not a realistic option for a PG with KD on the team. Who knows.
  9. Not sure if this is just bad art or an intentionally poor drawing.
  10. 16-2 for Cleveland over that span, and 1 game behind Detroit for the division after sweeping them in the last series. They have a very good chance of taking the division now. Crazy comeback for them, with the next 3 games against the Tigers to possibly decide it. Cleveland is up 6-4 on the season series, so they secure tiebreaker with 1 win, which may be the difference.
  11. Lol, let them score there to get the ball back and have a chance.
  12. I guess they have no confidence in CJ. No great QB would let that happen, it's the end of the half and your past midfield, just go for it. It's an easy punt if you fail, 8 yards doesn't change that. So dumb... And it only hurts CJs development. They really need him to push through some tough situations and build some confidence.
  13. Caleys resume is not what I would expect for an NFL OC. Never been more than a Tight Ends coach at the NFL level. Usually you want a guy that has been the QB coach for a while, as that is the most important unit in the offensive scheme. They took a chance on a young 42 year old guy, and it appears he's not up to the challenge. Should have gone to a D1 school to be OV first or something.
  14. Challenging a 3 yard catch is a bold move.
  15. I didn't love it, because it was too cringey, but there were some good parts. It really is a 90 minute ITYSL sketch, that feels like it goes on for too long at times. It's entertaining though, assuming you can make your way through it all. I would give it a mixed rating, but I think that was their intent, so mission accomplished. That said, I hope Tim gets an Oscar nomination for it.
  16. 31 pitches through 3 innings with no hits or walks.... Not great bob.
  17. Nah, Joel Embiid never won anything...
  18. That ball tipped off the 1b glove and may have spared him a lot more pain had it hit him lower down. Dude was lucky for that.
  19. WTF does "Malicious Communications" mean as a crime? They projected light at a wall, it's not like they vandalized a public landmark.
