  1. I said at the beginning of the year I thought .500 would be a welcomed surprise for this team, and that's not far off. Fringe play-in team right now, but they were better than that early in the year with a much better defense. They were top 5 in defensive rating early on, and have now regressed to about middle of the pack. Their offense has been dismal, and continues to be shitty most nights. Jalen Green is an absolutely terrible chucker, who has shown no signs of better discipline in choosing his shots. The team's identity is defense, and they need to start playing more like it. Also from last night, this was why Sengun fouled out. If you aren't allowed to play defense in a game, it really hurts a team that is leaning on their defense to win... Should have been a no-call, but that was his 6th, so he was very angry about it.
  2. S8E21 - The Muffin Tops - Another solid episode from top to bottom. The Real Kramer bus tour, George pretends to be a tourist and gets traded to Tyson Chicken, Jerry shaves his chest and Elaine suggests the "Top of the Muffin" idea to Mr Lippman. "It's beautiful! She makes all the plans. I'm not from around here, so it's OK if I'm stupid, and I'm not from around here so there's no messy breakups!" Peterman's book title "No Placket Required" is a riff on Phil Collins' album “No Jacket Required.” A placket is “an opening or slit in a garment, covering fastenings or giving access to a pocket, or the flap of fabric under such an opening.” Peterman's book is published and Elaine let's Kramer know they used his stories for it. Kramer goes to the book signing and sits next to him to sign books. He takes a book from one of the people in line and she says "who are you?" to which he replies "I'm the real Peterman!" After being thrown out, he starts The Real Kramer bus tour. This is of course based on the real Kenny Kramer's life story, who actually did sell the right to use his name to NBC for only $1000, back when the show was a pilot. After the show became a hit, he did start a ragtag bus tour called "The Kramer Reality Tour." The website can be found here: http://www.kennykramer.com/home.html however it shut down during Covid and has not resumed. Up until that point, it had been running for about 25 years straight. My parents actually went on the Kenny bus tour back in the mid 00's, and they loved it. They said he was hilarious, friendly and quite a character, however instead of a 3 Musketeers they said they were given a Snickers to eat with a knife and fork. Kenny did ask to play Kramer in the Pilot for Seinfeld. He was denied by LD and Jerry, because they didn't have any say in it. However, Kenny did speak highly of Michael Richards character and performance, and said "I would never have thought to go sliding through doors and all the shtick that Michael does. He was brilliant. If I had gotten to play Kramer, the show would have gone straight down the crapper.” Here's the 3 of them back in the day: Kenny did make 1 appearance on the show, he was one of the fans at the Rangers/Devils game in The Face Painter: On a related note, apparently Jerry did go to High School with a George Costanza. A teacher did call him "Can't Stand Ya" and he had some other similarities to the character. That George Costanza did sue NBC for 100 million, but he lost the case as it was declared a frivolous lawsuit. He was ordered to pay $2500 in legal fees over it, and Jerry was quoted in response as saying "The universe would be out of kilter if someone named Costanza won anything.”
  3. Framber had a terrible outing in his first start today, 5 H 3 ER 1 BB 1 HBP. Hopefully it's just working out the kinks, but if not, the team is going to need to figure out something else for the rotation. Might need to be sooner than the trade deadline though if JV misses some time. Something to watch is if Cleveland isn't in position to win their division by mid-season, Shane Beiber should be available if the Astros need another Ace for the playoffs. They haven't been able to work out an extension with him, and likely won't pay the 25-30m a year he's looking for. They do value cheap players with lots of control, like France, Meyers, Pena and prospects, so the Astros may be able to snag him if they want to.
  4. Those aren't for New Years, those are my everyday balloons.
  5. Did Newsome write the legislation? Unless California has a line-item veto, I don't see how you blame him alone.
  6. I see your debate of man's inherent nature, and raise you a Koogler:
  7. The opening scent to Mr. Robot was such a great way to start the show:
  8. South Park has a few potential ones, Warcraft, Casa Bonita, LOTR video tape return, Scientology, Mormons, etc. Tons to choose from, but I think this is the top moment:

  13. Try the inverse of that: Of the current 30 MLB teams, how many of them have NOT had a 100 win season in their history? Answer in spoiler:
  14. So whatever happened to that backlog of cargo ships that Republicans were whining about years ago? There was a lot of complaining about lack of truck drivers to move cargo, moving ships to other ports, etc. Did it all get cleared up and fixed?
  15. I can't believe Mobley didn't come up with that steal to ice the game. Luka somehow comes up with it and drives towards Allen in the paint, then passes the game winning shot to PJ for the layup. Not something I would expect Luka to do in that situation, but you gotta give him credit for making the best play for the team. Strus was on another level last night, 7/12 from the field with 7/10 from 3, including that last heave. I know the chances of making that shot with 2.8 remaining on the clock is very low, but I'm pretty sure the Mavs had a foul to give if they wanted to mess with the Cavs play. This game was actually a very quiet from the officials, not too many fouls and free throws called. They surprisingly let them play a lot, and I know we complain about how soft the game has gotten, but watching that one felt like how it should be. With that crazy win, the Cavs are now 3-3 since the All-star break, and are not looking as hot as before. Garland really needs to work on his 3, if he could get to the upper 30s consistently, a lot of these games wouldn't be close.
  16. Tim Whatley was one of my students, and if this wasn't my son's wedding day, I'd knock your teeth out, you anti-Dentite bastard!
  17. If that had been a QB in the NFL, it would be roughing the passer, 15 yards and a first down.
  18. If only Hedwig had confiscated a motorcycle from the Jews, she could have taken it on some sweet jumps this movie could have been a big hit! Glazer, you buffoon! Give the people what they want!!!
  19. Well the Dodgers just went 1-2-3 to start their game against the White Sox. Ohtani struck out looking to a guy named Garrett Crochet. I guess they suck too.
  20. This is a really funny show, and I was disappointed it was only 7 episodes long. It flows so well, it felt like it could go on for another 10-20 episodes like an old sitcom and have plenty of material. Great work all around, fun characters, great casting, lots of good jokes (not many manatee type jokes), and the whole set looks and feels like it's the early 90s. Very nostalgic for those of us who grew up in that decade, which makes it feel much more familiar and fun. Some of Seth's best work, and probably the funniest thing I have seen from him since season 3 of Family Guy. I love how Ted is treated as a normal person for the most part, and none of the characters react to him being a talking teddy bear. Love Ted's ewok costume and Blair is great
  21. So the Knicks are getting the Lakers treatment now? Lame.
  22. Tracey talking about his balls "flip flopping around like we're at a Mexican resort!" was the best part.
  23. All I found was the MLB.com Gameday tracker here: https://www.mlb.com/gameday/astros-vs-tigers/2024/02/26/748227/live/live
  24. So how do you watch Spring Training? I would like to have it up while working this afternoon, but I don't see it on YoutubeTV or on Streameast.
  25. Trump would probably be using the Air Force to drop the bombs in Gaza. McConnell would claim it saves money by not wasting resources shipping the bombs to Israel, and therefore we can afford cutting taxes on the 1% even more! All kidding aside, if this muslim movement does keep voters from going Biden in November and it does swing the election to Trump, there is a very real and likely possibility that in doing so they will be allowing even more Palestinians to die as Trump's admin removes any chance for a ceasefire and openly encourages the war. Hell he would probably liken Gaza to our southern border and use that to campaign for militarizing it and bombing Mexico.
