  1. But Javier, McCullers AND Garcia are on the way! 💪💪💪
  2. Astros vs Dodgers in the World Series would be pretty funny. Which side would the rest of the MLB take? Would it be like KC/Philly in the Super Bowl, where most fans chose 'meteor strike'?
  3. But they voted for TRUMP and are "100% MAGA" so they shouldn't be hurt by the gutting of our Federal government! That's not who we should be hurting with these cuts! Not THEM! They were supposed to target the other them...
  4. I think that was intentional on Lebron's part, he didn't want to be left out and subbed for some other guy. He was in the pictures with the trophy and the team.
  5. It's going to be funny when the Republican Congress claims "We never authorized those buyout packages, they were promised by someone with no authority!" Then they have to bend over backwards into pretzels to explain how the guy firing them and offering the bogus buyouts was legally allowed to do some of that, but not the part where they get paid.
  6. It's amazing the party of The Constitution and Rule of Law is good with this bullshit.
  7. If he was beating the shit out of Nico, the people will dismiss the charges and throw him a parade.
  8. I read 7.5% recently, but that is just civilian employees and makes up about 300 billion of the budget. That doesn't include the military personnel though, which is also a huge chunk of people. Although the military votes pretty red, they might not take as big of an axe to it, since this all seems politically driven.
  9. That skills competition was lame as hell. Bouncing a pass through a 5 foot wide hole is not much of a skill. I liked seeing the Spurs make a joke of it, which was within the rules and should not have disqualified them. Make your game better if you don't like it. The NBA needs to make it a whole lot more difficult, and have time penalties for missing the shots/passes. Make it a little interesting at least by showing off skills, and incentivize doing it right. The dunk contest was kind of lame. Buzelis couldn't do shit, and that guy from the Bucks was doing vanilla shit. Castle was great, and kind of got robbed on one of those "49" ratings by that dude on the end and Tmac. Mac is a great dunker, but he's not an NBA player and doesn't belong. The NBA needs to figure out how to get some big names with talent to do some dunks, because it hurts their brand to have such pedestrian competition for something that used to be Must See TV. I think the competition would be better off if they gave them a 1 minute timer to do whatever number of dunks they want. Like in figure skating, they don't do one triple axel and stop there, they do a lot to show off different skills and technique. It would make it more interesting and reward those who can make their dunks the first time by letting them complete several.
  10. Watch the next several jobs reports be negative, unemployment rising, and these clowns will be claiming it's a benefit to tax payers because they are saving money. They will have an explanation for the upcoming recession, caused by unnecessary tariffs and trade wars, and point to it as a good thing. Nerds will point out the massive private sector layoffs as a large part of his policy, unexpected cancelling of government contracts, deportation of cheap immigrant workers and the general retraction of the economy due to his dumb policies, but he and his media apparatus will spin it as good for the country. It's gonna be great.
  11. "Bregman had offers of 6 years/$171.5 million (opt-out after 2026) from Detroit, and 4 years/$120 million (opt-outs after 2026 & 2027) from the Cubs, per sources," Feinsand said. "The higher AAV combined with the opt-outs after each of the next two years were the key to him taking the Boston deal." It also was reported heavily that the Astros offered Bregman a six-year deal worth $156 million. https://www.si.com/mlb/red-sox/boston-red-sox-news/alex-bregman-contract-details-red-sox-star-declined-3-other-offers-pat3 So the Tigers did offer a bit more with 1 one more year, but with unspecified deferments. Cubs offer was reasonable, and probably better than the Astros overall. The notion that his market was cold or underwhelming appears to be wrong. He wasn't getting 200m like he had hoped, but this is still really good money for him at 30m+ per year. I can't really blame him for leaving, but will miss him. Fare well Bregman.
  12. No Fred and they still pull it off. Just think if they had found a way to turn Fred+filler and picks to get KD on this team. He's absolutely the killer shooter this team is missing. Maybe they can swing a trade for him next year, it would be fun.
  13. No, just do a set hard cap and stop with all this apron and exceptions nonsense. Every team has up to 200m to spend, and every dollar under it is cap space. If you need more space, send a bad contract to some other team to make room. The trade deadline would be even more amazing if it weren't for all these stupid matching rules.
  14. It just seems pointless to me. RJ, Scottie and BI with that supporting cast is worth maybe a 7-10 seed in the East. If they are stacking salary for a bigger trade, who is gonna want BI at 40m a year? Just doesn't make sense to me, treadmill team is exactly what this is with no expectations to get better. Siakam would have been a valuable asset on an extension, BI is nowhere near as attractive of an asset. It's truly unbelievable that the Raptors won a ring. I mean, they needed several catastrophic injuries to the other team to do it, but still, they have been middling team every year since, and pretty much their entire existence before that.
  15. He is a real cheap option for a team acquiring him, unlike Diggs was last year. I think the team getting him would pay around 7 million for 1 year, while the 49ers would incur a lot of dead cap. The dead cap hits are their own fault though, they converted a ton of salary and bonuses to open up space in previous years, so that's all sunk costs for them. I don't know what the asking price is for him, since he's a 1 year rental but fairly cheap, but if a 3rd round pick gets it done, I would go for that.
  16. Toronto is making a splash! Brandon Ingram agrees to 3-year, $120M extension with Raptors
  17. This Cavs/Wolves game is great. 22-3 with 3 minutes left in the 1st. Twolves are 0-15 from the floor. Might be a record or something.
  18. I just checked ESPN and saw this headline, then laughed out loud. As soon as the Mavs started saying the issue with Luka was "conditioning" and "availability," I thought that bullshit would come bite them in the ass eventually. I did not expect that Karma to hit them this quickly though. It's bananas that they took on his contract in lieu of paying Luka.
  19. Sorry just catching up and reading random posts about the halftime show, but I think I know who would be a good compromise and please everyone on both sides for next year: Macklemore
