  1. This Cavs/Wolves game is great. 22-3 with 3 minutes left in the 1st. Twolves are 0-15 from the floor. Might be a record or something.
  2. I just checked ESPN and saw this headline, then laughed out loud. As soon as the Mavs started saying the issue with Luka was "conditioning" and "availability," I thought that bullshit would come bite them in the ass eventually. I did not expect that Karma to hit them this quickly though. It's bananas that they took on his contract in lieu of paying Luka.
  3. Sorry just catching up and reading random posts about the halftime show, but I think I know who would be a good compromise and please everyone on both sides for next year: Macklemore
  4. Lol, fucking unbelievable.
  5. Yeah, there are some promising young guys that will get some more playing time now. With Lavine out of the way, I expect Buzelis to get a lot more playing time and stats. Risarcher should get more time with Hunter being sent to Cleveland. My main concern for my team is that Valanciunas got sent to Sac in a trade, and he will be fighting with Sabonis for rebounds the rest of the year, which hurts me in that category and DDs. Gonna be tough to replace that production at this point in the season.
  6. Nurkic is supposedly a buyout candidate, he would be a nice consolation prize if the Lakers want him.
  7. The Cavs got DeAndre Hunter for a handful of 2nds and some average players. He was exactly what this team needed, a near 40% 3pt shooter, a tall defensive wing, he would have fit right in. Cam Johnson also would have been a huge upgrade on offense, but instead of turning 20m of expiring players that aren't the least bit necessary for this team, we get to let it expire and lose all those trade chips. Just dumb of them to not flip some of that into a top 6 rotation guy.
  8. Abbott came out a couple days ago saying he supports sports betting in Texas. A huge about face for him, and the timing is really really suspicious. Maybe Luka really did die for the legalization of our sins? If that does go through in the next legislative session, that should satisfy the team owners and allow them to build their super duper casino and NBA complex. However, unless they start winning a bunch with AD, I don't know who all is going to visit.
  9. Time for Mavs fans to start a new movement: Antifo, Anti-Front Office
  10. Feel free to post any evidence of corruption that they have found. So far all I have seen is that they think USAID subscribing to multiple news outlets is somehow wrong, because they don't seem to understand that big companies tend to subscribe to lots of services so their employees have access.
  11. It's a really good skit.
  12. Every time I hear about this guy my head immediately starts singing "The bones are their money!" From the I Think You Should Leave show.
  13. Oh no! But everybody really liked him!
  14. 7 years 156 million?
  15. What does Zeller do that Landale can't? Seems like a worthless pickup, when they could have tried to get a scorer like Cam Johnson. KD was probably never gonna happen, but they need someone that can hit 3s at a decent clip.
  16. But all that defense leads to fouls. It's gonna be sad when OKC loses round 2 to the Lakers, while Luka and Bron combine for 35+ free throws a game...
  17. Oh wow, I didn't know he was available. Nice get by the Cavs, and a huge upgrade over Levert, who can't stay healthy. Hunter has 2 more years on his contract and is 27 years old. He should fit in well with the guys on this team playing active defense and shooting nearly 40% from 3. The Cavs need some tall wing players to help match up better with Boston. I'm guessing the Nets want a lot more for Cam Johnson, so they went with Hunter for a much cheaper price. Leverts 16m is expiring, so that frees up some cap space for ATL next year. Niang has 1 year 8m left, and the 2nds are negligible. Great move.
  18. I think the Nets have several bidders for Cam, and it will take a lot to get him, but yeah his salary and age is very well aligned with this teams future. KD is reportedly available, but I would imagine the Suns are asking too much. The Rockets are the best suitor for a KD trade as they have plenty of expiring salary to match, and the Suns picks as incentive.
  19. PJ should get bought out, and then probably end up on the Lakers or something.
  20. Espada showed this past year that he is willing to alter the batting order whenever the starters change, so I think it will be fine. No more Dubon leading off when Altuve sits a game, and I expect to see a good amount of Dubon at 2b this year.
  21. I dunno how many of you have watched this show, but I love it and I think it's brilliant. If you ever enjoyed watching the old typical terrible American sitcoms, where the husband is a stupid oaf manchild and the wife has to keep the house together, then you'll appreciate this sort of satirical dark comedy of a sitcom like that, but it's from the perspective of the wife. Annie Murphy plays the lead actress (the daughter from Schitt's Creek) and she nails this role as a trapped housewife trying to hold it together and keep things on track, while dealing with an emotionally abusive relationship. I'm only halfway through season 1, but I have loved every minute of this show. The way it riffs on sitcom tropes is hilarious, and the roller coaster of emotions Allison feels, emptiness, fear, depression, hatred, etc, is realistic and funny in a dark way. She's a bit of an anti-hero in a lot of ways, so I don't think you really root for her, but it's just such an interesting perspective that I want to keep watching to see where it goes. I highly recommend giving it a try, it's only 16 episodes in total, so it's a quick binge watch, and it's very entertaining.
  22. Yeah, I think the Suns will kind of suck in the future too, but I don't think they are going to be bottom 5 in the league for several years in a row. This is Phoenix we are talking about, not Memphis, SLC, Milwaukee or Oklahoma City, players actually like to live there. I think they will still attract good players and remain relevant. I'm also in the camp that believes Jalen Green is not the long term answer that this team needs. I think his new deal makes him a negative value asset starting next year, and upgrading from him to Booker or KD would be worth it. It helps divert that salary into a player that can be a foundational piece of your franchise's future rather than hoping he turns out to be more like Clyde Drexler rather than Jordan Poole. If a deal like this is possible, and you have Jalens 29m taking up a large chunk of that salary, I'm all for it. Upgrading from Green is exactly what this team needs, smarter guys taking better shots all game, especially during the last 2 minutes.
  23. It's the Nets type of deal, you have to give back their picks or they won't trade him to anyone, and the Rockets hold all those cards. Booker is under contract for 3 more years, so no concern of him leaving, and he's only 28. Would be awesome to upgrade from Jalen Green to him as your guy trying to create shots for himself in tight games. None of the players in that trade will be anywhere as good as Booker is, and the picks have no guarantee to result in a player like him. It's a lot of future cap space, but maybe it would help them get that next Fred contract into a realistic range for his talents, because 33m to that guy is an overpay.
  24. If KD is out of Phoenix, then Booker should be a on the block soon... Between the 2 of them, I would prefer Booker, but this trade can get either of them. The Rockets have a ton of expiring contracts they can leverage to go get an allstar and replace Jalen Green in the process while the Suns get a young, budding star to build around! Detroit gets a 1st for taking on some salary. Win-Win-Win!
