  1. I'm sure a multibillion dollar company can pay some nerds to figure it out. They should be able to combine the location of the ball on the field with the replay cameras so a guy in a booth can pinpoint the instant the runner's knee is down, and know where the ball goes. Relay that to some on-field tech in the sideline markers and make it extremely accurate. This really shouldn't be the debate though, the tech isn't hard to figure out. It's about getting the calls right and removing as much human error (or favoritism) from the equation as possible. Again, other sports use this technology to know exactly if a ball barely grazed a line, or if a soccer ball crossed into the goal after getting kicked a million times by world class athletes that can leg press 1000 pounds. The NFL should care more about the perception of their product, and work to alleviate the claims that there is foul play.
  2. Some great analysis of Amen and Tari playing some stifling defense. Gotta love the personality of this team right now, defense wins championships, and they certainly have plenty of it. Comparing these guys to E. Honda is high praise, but apt, as they are constantly engaged and hunting for steals. Of the Cavs few losses this year, the 2 to ATL, 1 to OKC and 2 to Houston were all because of long armed wings giving their shooters fits. The Cavs win shootouts without much sweat, but the tougher, high energy defenses have been their kryptonite. It bodes well for the Rockets playoff chances this year, but also for the future, as Fred is the only key free agent on this team, and with the way Amen is playing, he soon won't be needed.
  3. WTF was the Online doing???
  4. I still can't believe that wasn't ruled an incompletion. It's such a blatantly bad call going the Chiefs way, you have to wonder if the NFL cares at all about damaging its brand and reputation with this dumb shit.
  5. It hit the ground and also changed possession on the same grab! It's a magic catch!
  6. This article explains it in detail, but the movie did change a lot of what really happened between them. This movie makes the first night seem much more dramatic and chaotic than what really happened by compressing a ton of storylines. However the choices keep the story moving and make for an enjoyable viewer experience. Hopefully no one is too sore about the changes. https://screenrant.com/saturday-night-live-johnny-carson-lorne-michaels-true-story/
  7. The Hard Hats skit is still hilarious.
  8. He looked pretty happy in those clips, and the whole team coming to help him up looked good. Are we done with the "Cam is unhappy" bullshit storyline? He looks engaged in this lineup, and I'm still surprised he dropped to 20th in the draft. He was said to be the steal of the draft by many of the prognosticators.
  9. Wild Robot was one of the best animated films I have seen in a while. It's well worth a watch regardless of your age. So much fun, my kids and I loved it. Inside Out 2 was a touching story and so well done. The way they write the emotions into the plot as characters, and show how they affect the girl is a great illustration of how to deal with emotions. It's a good story with a lot of positive and relatable aspects to it. I would be happy to see either win best Animated picture, but I think Flow will get it. Flow has an interesting style of animation that stands out from the rest. It's a bit cartoonish, almost like a video game, but still beautiful in its own way. I enjoyed watching it, and I think the dialogue-less story will appeal to Oscar voters over the others.
  10. Pete Crow Armstrong would be a good swap. We need an OF, they need a closer, so it's a clear win-win scenario. Could throw in Jon Singleton to sweeten the deal.
  11. Totally the same!
  12. Can he flex to one of the Guard spots for a year? That's the biggest hole in the line right now. Might be a guy they put there, but train him to be an OT after next year. I believe Howards contract can be dropped with little dead money after 2025.
  13. Sexton has been OK, but hasn't really lived up to that contract. Agbaji is still TBD (was a 1st round pick) Lauri has been good for them, but ultimately came down to earth this season and lost a lot of trade value. He got that huge extension, which may become a negative in the future. He's a good player, a fringe all-star, but I think he's just a good player on a bad team and won't have nearly the same impact on a team with more options. The 3 firsts don't look to be the potential lottery tickets they did when Mitchell has the chance to leave. He signed an extension, and the other 3 guys are under contract for years. Barring a couple of major injuries, none of those picks will be in the lottery, and the swaps will be very late firsts, which won't convey. Seems like the Cavs gamble paid off with about 4/5 years of peak Mitchell at least. I don't know if that's great value for Utah overall. I think the Knicks were offering about the same in picks, but not players. Maybe their FRPs would have been more valuable, but it's hard to say given they are 3rd in the East. The Knicks would probably be a whole lot better with Mitchell instead of Bridges though. Not sure if they make the KAT trade too in that scenario.
  14. But Danny Ainge is so smart!!! How could this happen??
  15. Are those 3 firsts really better trade bait than a Suns 2031? They are all just about guaranteed to be in the last 5 picks of the 1st round. I guess if it gets rid of Bradley Beals contract it's worth it, but I don't know why Miami would want them.
  16. Congrats to the Irish on finally making the Buckeyes kick the ball for once.
  17. Nice run. Time to put this out of reach.
  18. He didn't bother to try to send his boys there either. USC and now Arizona for the other one. I guess that's close to home in LA, but still not a great sign of love to the school he wants to rep.
  19. I saw a proposal of a 2031 1st, Strus and Niang, and maybe some 2nds for Cam. That seems alright I guess, I'm just not sure the Nets would go for all that salary in return.
  20. Not if it burns you...
  21. I'm still hoping, it sucks seeing everyone but Altuve leave.
