  1. I just started watching this at my wife's insistence. Pretty addictive.
  2. Let me see if I can help... She was in Houston for two days. Successfully took the dog with her. She came back to Austin and successfully let the dog in the house. Let the other dog outside. Went to the bathroom. Let the other dog inside. Little dog did not come in with the big dog, mainly because she was never outside to begin with. Wife freaked out. Little dog was later found to be in the house, as she was all along. I can see why you'd ask if she forgot the dog in Houston. That could definitely happen.
  3. Yeah, that would have been better.
  4. This one takes the fur-lined jockey cap. Wife had gone to Houston to work on cleaning out her mom's house and took the dog with her. While there, she scheduled a dinner for last night with our kids and another family. We're supposed to meet at the restaurant in Austin at 8:00. Her plan is to leave Houston early enough to get home, change clothes, and ride with us to the restaurant. I knew without a doubt this was not going to happen. As is typical, she's late. I get a text that she'll be in Austin at 7:30 and will meet us at the restaurant at 8:00. I know that's not going to happen, either. Kids and I go to the restaurant. We're there at 8:00. I get a call at 8:30 with wife totally freaked out. She got home and has lost the dog. Swears the dog got out of the back yard. She's driving around the neighborhood looking for the dog, knocking on neighbor's doors, etc. She can't find the dog anywhere and tells me she's not coming to the restaurant. OK, cool. I then get the most amazing phone call of my life. Seriously. She pulls up in the driveway after not being able to find the little dog. She's crushed. Anytime we pull up in the driveway, the little dog starts yapping, happy we're home I guess. Guess what happens this time? Yep, you got it - little dog starts yapping. From inside the house. DOG HAD BEEN INSIDE THE HOUSE THE WHOLE TIME. WIfe comes to restaurant, and being a good husband, I have a plate of food and a giant margarita waiting for her.
  5. Mrs. Mudcat is at it again. We're in the process of selling her mom's house in Houston, so she goes down there frequently. She always, and I mean ALWAYS, forgets something. As she was leaving this time, I followed her out to the car. Dog? Check. Paperwork? Check. Leash? Check. Phone? Check. Ipad? Check. Charger? Check. Suitcase? Check. I'm thinking she's good to go. I'm wrong. She forgot the keys to the house. $120 later, she's in.
  6. Yeah, I know. I play music on the side and took a gig for that night. My fault.
  7. I won't be in the stands for either the La Tech or LSU games. I cheaped out and only bought a mini-plan, don't get to attend until OSU. Really wanted to see the opener, but I think LHN can help me out with that.
  8. I have 9 - 3 in the regular season, with the 10th win coming in the bowl game.
  9. My wife joined the club this week. No adverse reaction to food, just waited too long to go. SMDH.
  10. 270? Geez, dude - mix in a salad. You just ate your way out of the league.
  11. I'm not even going to add any backstory on this one. My wife left a bottle of Advil in the toaster. Yes, you read that right. She then made toast for several days in a row. The plastic bottle melted onto the rack. I had to break it off with a screwdriver and a pair of pliers. All good now.
  12. I evidently have a magic phone in my car. Yesterday, the wife and I were driving back to Austin. We were in separate cars. While driving, she calls me from her car and tells me "I left my phone back at the house". No, you didn't, because the car uses the cell phone. The car is just the interface, the phone is the phone. I *think* I got her to believe me, but I'm still not sure. In any case, the phone was in her purse. SMDH.
  13. How about some Holly & The Italians?
  14. Thought I'd join in. I have a few bikes. The one I ride consistently is a VStar 1300. No more sport bikes for me - too hard on the knees. I'm finding I'm enjoying going low and slow. I'm restoring my father-in-law's 1970 Honda CB350 for my wife to ride. It's currently in a gazillion pieces, but I start paint and reassembly next week.
  15. The tone for this game was set in the first inning. We had three strikeouts, including one on a wild pitch. We followed that up by walking the lead off hitter and giving the second guy a base with a catchers interference. Big surprise, those guys scored. This is what bad baseball teams do.
  16. This. My stance is "you can tell me what to do or how to do it. Not both."
  17. My wife and I recently bought a really old house that we're going to renovate. First step is to pull down some badly-installed sheetrock in the entryway to expose the original shiplap boards underneath. We want to paint those so that we get the effect of having the exposed wood. She was trying to put together a project plan last night. For reference, I'm a project manager by trade, so it's clear this wasn't going to go so well. Two of the steps involve pulling down the existing sheetrock, and finishing the boards underneath, and she could not figure out what order to do this in. I spent 20 minutes explaining why you had to pull the sheetrock down first before you could paint the boards underneath. I have no idea how I managed to not run screaming from the building. She kept saying "I have to think visually". Ok, I get that, but we finally got to the point where I said "you're ready to paint, but you haven't pulled the sheetrock down yet. What are you painting?". The answer is "sheetrock", not what she was looking for. I'm still not sure she believes me.
  18. This kid wants to be a Longhorn, and that's good enough for me. I don't care if he ever suits up, I'm pulling for him. Get well, Derrian.
  19. I took some time off work today to meet with an insurance agent about new homeowners insurance and consolidating our car insurance. Wife set it up. I asked her if she had everything she needed. She says yes. Real answer is no, which I found out at the meeting. No VIN numbers, no bank routing numbers, no jewelry appraisals, nothing. Total waste of time. I'm sure it's my fault.
  20. Bingo. Last night in the middle of the night.
  21. I'm in exactly the same place I was before the season. Stop telling me how good the team is. Show me.
