  1. 553 days. Feeling good. 16,582$. I put that in my little tracker too for how much I spent on booze. That also includes about 7 dollars a day for cigarettes that I quit at the same time and figured I might as well put that in there. Mine was pretty easy because it was about 1000 a month habit. That doesn't include going out, but I almost never went out the last 10 years or so. I was going to ask a while back if other people kept track of how much money they've saved. Some of you must be way up there.
  2. High si's got me. I'm a child
  3. Looks like the Southside Market in the Arbor Walk in Austin is open, or about open. If anyone gives a shit. I don't know the experts opinion on that joint. I've never been to the original.
  4. No? Always has for me.
  5. cough it up, chompers
  6. All Amazon pick up returns say someone has to be home. You can just leave a note telling them it's ok to take it, so you don't have to be there. Same with FedEx if you have something that says you have to be present for a pickup. Sorry to derail, but that's something I didn't know for a while and it makes returns a lot easier after I was told that.
  7. My buddy moved from Austin (lifelong Texan) to Duluth a few summers ago. He was posting pictures of his great new life that summer and those10 days of fall they get there. Was living back in Texas by Xmas. I moved from St. Croix, USVI to Iowa in a February for no reason at all. How's that for smart?
  8. I got the same one because it was 290 bucks and I was in the process of an out of state move. I just wanted the thing on my porch when I moved in to use for a year or so and then get something nicer, but I absolutely love the thing. It is firm. Like firm enough to hurt my hip if I stay motionless for too long, but it's the best mattress I've had. I came from memory foam, so I knew I wanted that, but I didn't know it was going to blow away my more expensive one I previously had.
  9. I thought her strategy of "take a teenage bitches head off" was fairly well-delivered.
  10. I thought that too, but I swore I heard on the news tonight that only 23 out of the 50 something deaths had THC in their system. Maybe I misheard that?
  11. Thanks. I'm not an AAer, so sometimes I need it spelled out for me.
  12. Can you explain a little more what you mean by this?
  13. Gimmie some good ones. I've been thinking about canceling Hulu, but I don't need much of an excuse to keep it. Still haven't finished every season of It's Always Sunny, so I'm not canceling until that anyway.
  14. So before you went back there, they were obeying leash laws?
  15. Thanks. And this is why I was thinking Guadalupe would be a better few day trip without much planning. From what I read, Pine Springs is just first come, first served and shouldn't be a problem getting a spot during the week. Seems like I would have a little more flexibility doing that?
  16. I'm truly sorry, troph. Maybe Derty's post here will bring you even the smallest amount of comfort, to think that by talking about this here, it connected with someone and gave them a push they needed.
  17. Just happened right after I typed that, they did a segment on the Today Show about Yosemite thinking about bringing in WIFI, food trucks, and Amazon delievery to campsites. I didn't realize they already had a Starbucks there. Guess it shouldn't surprise me on that one. But Amazon delivery to campers there? Jesus
  18. So am I correct in that, I can go over to Pine Springs campground, set up camp and hike around the area as I please for a few days and do the summit? I want to go over there for a few days next week because I'm off and it sounds like during the week I should be able to get a spot there. Big Bend seems like it might take more planning, but if it would be better, even without much of a plan, I'd be up for that. I do have 4X4 (just a stock Grand Cherokee) if that opens things up at all. I saw some stuff online about BB where they say you need 4x4, but can't find much that talks about how rough those areas are to drive through. And the backcountry spots I saw just looked like big sites for groups. Really, since I'm inexperienced, I'd like to have a base where my vehicle and everything I need is and just hike trails during the day, with maybe a backpacking night away from my camp. But that part isn't necessary, just sounds like fun. That's why Pine Springs maybe sounded like the easiest (logistics wise) for a first timer, but I don't know shit about things over there besides what I've read, and that hasn't been terribly informative. Also, I'm in decent shape. Not great, but a good trek isn't going to kill me.
  19. Not skinny, I'll give ya that.
  20. I think so. Not something I would ever think about doing. I'd probably try to use google lens. That's kinda sad.
  21. No. I thought I covered that.
  22. I don't use the drive thru because I'm lazy. I use it because I don't want to be crammed into a building with a bunch of fast food eating fucks and their fast food eating fucking kids.
  23. When Kimmel did a week in Austin during SXSW a few years ago, my buddy was in the back with him and Snoop before that show. They had to cover the vents in the room they were in at the Long Center, with butcher paper from the BBQ that was catered in so the weed smoke wouldn't pour into the theatre part.
