  1. Rookies. Amsterdam. Train into Central Station. Lot of shit to do/smoke/see within a mile. Get some north African to be your tour guide. Grab some fries with Mayo. Decide, drink, smoke, fuck or art. Or just wander. Just remember to give one of the bums outside the station what you did not consume before you go and check back in. A lot of Amsterdamage can be done in 12 hours. Touring some damn old church/mosque. I kid.
  2. Port of CC was (WAS) a major shipping point for USAID material. It was a prepositioned storage place for goods and transhipment point for food. There are others, but fuck CC.
  3. Whatever. your ital ancestors were the catalyst of the black death entering in and spreading across Europe. Just had to have that weekend partying in some Ottoman harem. (Not blaming, just saying.)

  9. Congo telling Lubbock hold my beer. Meanwhile one of our medical experts will say these numbers of deaths are nothing to worry about. KAMPALA, Uganda—A fast-spreading mystery illness linked to bats has killed scores of people in the Democratic Republic of Congo, with nearly half dying within 48 hours of showing symptoms, the World Health Organization said Thursday. The disease, which causes uncontrolled bleeding, vomiting, diarrhea and other symptoms of hemorrhagic fever, had infected 1,096 people and killed 60 as of Feb. 23, the WHO said. The disease was discovered in three children in the village of Boloko, in remote Équateur Province, last month. The children vomited blood, suffered nose bleeds and died within two days. A few weeks later, a second and larger outbreak was recorded 100 miles away in the village of Bomate, where hundreds of people are ill. Some 141 fell sick with the illness in a single week, the WHO said. “This could be a new virus that has never been discovered,” said Matteo Bassetti, professor of infectious diseases at Italy’s University of Genoa. https://www.wsj.com/world/africa/mystery-disease-linked-to-bats-kills-scores-in-congo-cc66ca23
  10. oh well, what we do know is someone on here is going to bitch one of them.
  11. Nothing to see here folks. All good. Wait, I do not know more than hospitals? Newly appointed Health and Human Services Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. appeared to dismiss a rare measles outbreak that has killed a child in Texas and sickened more than 120 people. “It is not unusual, we have measles outbreaks every year,” the controversial politician said during Trump’s first cabinet meeting Wednesday afternoon. Kennedy then went on to incorrectly state that two people have died from the outbreak, when multiple officials had only confirmed one death as of Wednesday. He also said the majority of hospitalizations have been “mainly for quarantine,” which health officials have also denied. https://www.yahoo.com/news/health-secretary-rfk-jr-downplays-033800949.html

  15. Cannot have a meeting AND discuss rethinking an approach. Nope, that must be absolute and entrusted to someone who is not an expert in infectious disease, production, distribution.
  16. What if there isn't an outbreak and we still don't wake him up? Just act like we forgot or it was someone else's fault.
  17. Do we have a wreath fund for the DT Ukraine thread? We might want to pass the hat if not. If there was only a CR thread to discuss it.
  18. I wish leopards would eat the faces of the next person who discusses gerrymandering on this thread. JFC, we have other threads.
  19. Yep, and this is global. Arabs who like peace in Gaza? Most. Arabs who want it to be a new Dubai? The rich arabs who are tired of Dubai.
  20. hehehe, a lot already moved. And you are correct. But if you fire the existing ones, move the office to red state, then rehire for efficiency, well double bonus points. 7D chess only Elon can understand without the help of AI.
  21. Reports coming out of the latest memo on staffing. Two sections were interesting. The plans should be grounded in the principles of ensuring "better service" for Americans, "increased productivity," a "reduced real property footprint" and a "reduced budget," the memo said. That second part of the plan should include "any proposed relocations of agency bureaus and offices from Washington, D.C. and the National Capital Region to less-costly parts of the country," it said. Few things come to mind. 1- There are going to be some pissed off developers in NCR. 2- Lot of real estate out in suburban NCR is going to take a hit. 3- Contractors are already out there. But the reduced budget is going to hit any overhead. 4- This is, nor ever was, designed to make people come into the office. https://www.nbcnews.com/politics/white-house/trump-administration-tells-federal-agencies-make-plans-large-scale-lay-rcna193850
  22. May and really ramps up, including pressure, over the holiday travel season. People are pissed off when they cannot take little Jimmy to visit the gator swamp fun land near Ocala.
