  1. Well sorry man, you are fucked as well. They just have not gotten to DOE yet. And yeah, my kiddo is worried. Graduates in May. Damn good school. STEM, 3.9, double major, etc. Kicked ass in HS and during the last year of Trumps administration received a full NASA scholarship. Grad school is on hold. No scholarships coming in. She is worried since she has two strikes against the applications for federal assistance for research. Hispanic is strike 2.
  2. so there might be some issues with the State Departments purchase of the $400M of up armored Teslas. The controversy started in a very Washington way: as a line item in a government spreadsheet buried on the State Department's website. It appeared as if the State Department was taking steps to award Elon Musk's Tesla a $400 million government contract to buy armored electric vehicles to securely transport diplomats. The move to set in motion a lucrative contract to a company controlled by a high-profile ally of President Trump seemed so bold it surprised even longtime observers of the norm-busting president. When asked about it, the State Department issued a statement saying the purchase is now on hold with no plans of fulfilling the contract, pointing out that talks with Tesla began during the Biden administration. But NPR has obtained a State Department document detailing that Biden's State Department planned to spend just $483,000 in the 2025 fiscal year on buying electric vehicles and $3 million for supporting equipment, like charging stations. It represented less than 1% of the hundreds of millions of dollars likely destined for Tesla vehicles after the Trump administration quietly revised a State Department procurement document. The vast discrepancy in the numbers raises the question: Was it an error or a deliberate action? A former Biden White House official familiar with the State Department's plans told NPR the steps taken to advance $400 million worth of government business to Tesla appear to be intentional. "I don't think this is a clerical error. It was likely someone who is new in [the] State [Department] who decided, 'OK, we're gonna do this with Tesla,'" said the former official, who was not authorized to speak about the matter. The person said the State Department and Tesla had agreed during the Biden administration to conduct research about armoring electric vehicles, but no money had been set aside to purchase armored Teslas for the State Department. A total budget of $483,000 had been approved to buy light-duty EVs as possible State Department vehicles. That plan was moving forward as recently as November 2024. https://www.npr.org/2025/02/24/nx-s1-5305269/tesla-state-department-elon-musk-trump
  3. Pretty quick transmission to go from 3 to 50 if they died within 48 hours. Common burial practice probably helped it. Burying the dead is a major way ebola spreads. Testing neg for those is interesting. ah shit, we got us one of them new hemorrhagic fever thingies. Anyone know when the CDC intervention team is heading over?
  4. And UTSA and the riverwalk. Oh, and Buccees.
  5. Food is still sitting in warehouses. I know the HIV component of PEPFAR gets focused on but there were some other major initiatives that fell into this category and are gone. Supporting WHO for global vaccines. Food projects for at risk populations. Water conservation UNHCR (Feeding refugees) But shit, lets cancel Verizons contract for ATC, give it to Elon and all cool. Anyone want to visit my new home inside Yosemite?
  6. WASHINGTON (AP) — More than 20 civil service employees resigned Tuesday from billionaire Trump adviser Elon Musk’s Department of Government Efficiency, saying they were refusing to use their technical expertise to “dismantle critical public services.” “We swore to serve the American people and uphold our oath to the Constitution across presidential administrations,” the 21 staffers wrote in a joint resignation letter, a copy of which was obtained by The Associated Press. “However, it has become clear that we can no longer honor those commitments.” https://apnews.com/article/doge-elon-musk-federal-government-resignations-usds-6b7e9b7022e6d89d69305e9510f2a43c
  7. Yeah, but with a sharpie you can control the weather.
  8. Just wait until Starlink us used for all the DOD drones.
  9. gotta be a sharpie.
  10. Yeah, but elon needs that material. has to build all those 4x4 CT's for the Department of State somehow.
  11. Irish gangs war are no joke.
  12. Whatever, we all know they were just selling condoms and DEI training equipment.
  13. well all eating roadkill and gator.
  14. add to that when collaborators copy into a set template and all fonts/formats go to shit. Bitch, why are their 6 normals now? I set the template and styles. EVERYTHING SHOULD BE LIKE THAT. Oh and fuck people who copy and paste one sentence. You could not type it? Don't get me started on reviewers from corporate office. No shit VP of asssuckyness, it is draft 1. It is not complete. We asked you for content, not to play EB White.
  15. I fucking hope so.
  16. Can they get along? The nordics probably. Others? Can they forget their history. A brilliant diplomat once wrote, the wars cannot end because the dead do not want them to.
  17. Great coordination and messaging. Real efficient. Well Pres says you won't get fired, but maybe you will. The 5 hour Coup. Feb. 24, 7:06 p.m. ESTMusk said “subject to the discretion of the President,” federal workers who did not respond to the check-in email will get another chance to respond, adding failure to do so would result in being fired. Feb. 24, 2 p.m. ESTThe Trump administration informed federal agencies it is now “voluntary” for employees to respond to Musk’s email and they will not be fired if they don’t respond, according to The New York Times, with Politico reporting workers are now directed to defer to their individual agency’s guidance on whether to respond (Musk previously said any non-responses will be treated as resignations). https://www.forbes.com/sites/alisondurkee/2025/02/24/elon-musks-federal-worker-emails-musk-says-employees-will-get-second-chance-to-respond-if-trump-says-so/
  18. When was this first developed? Someone wants that land.
  19. OK, so if you get St. Petersburg, who gets Moscow? Are the Japanese coming. I thought they were in for for part of the East.
  20. I was hoping they would all respond with FU messages of some sort.
  21. I do know them. Been a member for a long time. Wife worked at them. I am saying, it is not what is going to pull someone over who will put up with 10 dollar eggs, losing their job, etc.
  22. 600 will have an impact. That is 600 rents/mortgages. 600 + car payments. Thinking one for one is wrong. It is why cities fight so hard against BRACs at bases. And it depends on who these people are. What other jobs are there for them in the area?
