  1. People who are not trekkers really wear that gear for everyday? So much that you need 3-4 pair?
  2. Canuck ATC were watching the Canada-Finland game. "hey george, can you believe they scored three goals that quick, eh?" "No, cannot fathom that Henry. Wait, is that plane on its back?" "Appears so. That is not how they land is it?"
  3. That is what Trump would do. Musk would take the deal and then sell it to China.
  4. Trumps deal with Ukraine is coming to light. I posted about it in the CR since there is no way for that to not be seen as political. No words.
  5. Fucking disgusting. The keys to Trumps "agreement" with Ukraine are coming to light. https://www.telegraph.co.uk/business/2025/02/17/revealed-trump-confidential-plan-ukraine-stranglehold/ This... A new Versailles If this draft were accepted, Trump’s demands would amount to a higher share of Ukrainian GDP than reparations imposed on Germany at the Versailles Treaty, later whittled down at the London Conference in 1921, and by the Dawes Plan in 1924. At the same time, he seems willing to let Russia off the hook entirely. Donald Trump told Fox News that Ukraine had “essentially agreed” to hand over $500bn. “They have tremendously valuable land in terms of rare earths, in terms of oil and gas, in terms of other things,” he said. He warned that Ukraine would be handed to Putin on a plate if it rejected the terms. “They may make a deal. They may not make a deal. They may be Russian someday, or they may not be Russian someday. But I want this money back,” he said. Trump said the US had spent $300bn on the war so far, adding that it would be “stupid” to hand over any more. In fact the five packages agreed by Congress total $175bn, of which $70bn was spent in the US on weapons production. Some of it is in the form of humanitarian grants, but much of it is lend-lease money that must be repaid.
  6. Canucks up 1-0 vs. Finland. wait, 2-0.
  7. I think the pain starts this summer. Summer trips cancelled due to higher prices. Savings start to dry up and rents get missed. The trickle up begins. Northern Virginia will be interesting to watch. Direct or indirect, the economy is tied to the Federal Government.
  8. damn these are cute little fish.
  9. It came off wrong. Sorry. I mean if you can get something new going locally go for it. Use existing groups as a support element and help them expand their message. If we all preach to the same crowd nothing changes. Roma, I did not mean it at all as an attack.
  10. Yep, focused on important shit.
  11. They do not see it that way. They look at history. When was the last time anyone rolled into Spain? Slovenia? Canada? Italy? Go east then the perspective of history changes. Croatia is surprising. Guess they still have all that Yugoslav shit sitting around. Something to consider. it is just not what they spend. It is how they spend it. Lots of conscripts? a few high dollar items? Modernization and integration vs. surplus storage fees and older single net systems? I think these are also needed to frame a more accurate of a picture on what they can realistically contribute. NATO was created for one thing. To hold Russia at bay. Many did not see that as a real need until Russia invaded Ukraine.
  12. No one should give a shit about a dumbass basketball player who went to Russia to play and was stupid enough to take weed with her.
  13. Ducks are my new weather station. If they stay inside so am I.
  14. Notice he does not say what Hitler did was bad. Nope. It is a statement of fact. Then the second one has his opinion. So..... Yeah, that salute was by accident.
  15. Nah, just keep collapsing the economy and his people will do it. I do not mean Boris the sausage dealer. I mean his military/oligarchs, etc.
  16. They think you are eastern european and no one talks to them in London.
  17. Then he can do this. I am kidding. Just in case he has access to an EM 50.
  18. Of of the few times I have seen my dad cry is at the wall. One name got him. It is an emotional place. (but the family guy skit still cracks me up.)
  19. Just a quick AI scan. During the Bosnian War, Bosnian Serbs took hundreds of UN peacekeepers hostage in retaliation for NATO air strikes. The hostages were used as human shields to prevent further air attacks. Hostage incidents May 25–26, 1995 Bosnian Serbs took 370 UN peacekeepers hostage after NATO air strikes on ammunition depots. May 27, 1995 Bosnian Serbs captured 12 French peacekeepers at gunpoint at the Vrbanja Bridge. They took 10 of the peacekeepers away and left two behind as human shields. NATO response NATO responded to the hostage incidents with air strikes on targets in the Srebrenica area. NATO also established Joint Military Commissions to meet with military commanders from the former warring parties. Impact The hostage incidents and the UN's decision to return to traditional peacekeeping principles sent a message to the Bosnian Serbs that they could pursue their strategy of ethnic cleansing. The Bosnian Serbs used this strategy to drive Muslims and Croats from territory they wanted to claim There has to be a real Peace before they can go in. A ceasefire with the irregulars in the field accomplishes little. Sorry, it sounds great, but don't see how it work.
  20. Then they are armed hostages. Might as well send in the Pakistani's, Nigerians, etc.
  21. Yes almost all of them were there. Germany, UK, France and Canada ran sectors. But an issue with NATO is since the mid 1990's they have lost their mission. Portugal, Iceland, Greece are not worried about invasion. They know no one is going to let them fall, so they turned their militarizes to look internally. Spain as well. Italy? well... NATO's one time to shine was in Bosnia. And they sucked. Their internal and historical ties into the region caused not a thing to happen. This caused us to go in. France is the only ally who can project strength and will when needed. They have got their act together, somewhat. I mean, is Spain really worried about air defense it cannot send more patriots, or HAWKS to Ukraine?
  22. Then his wife does not get Lada.
  23. Fuck that. Longhorns don't go where it is easy. we change the world everywhere we go. Start in your little corner of Texas. That is as good, if not better, than jumping into existing groups. Have them support you, provide guidance and tools. This sentiment should be going everywhere with us. Not just to where it is easy.
