  1. Gets recycled for exportable vodka. Then ship that vodka to Dubai for Russian tourists, their hookers and good emirate Muslims. oh, and export to Ouagadougou for Russian mercs. See, they got a plan! Assad Vodka, found in a bread line near you.
  2. Now we know what the rent was. Al-Assad transferred $250mn to Russia while still in power: Report UK newspaper The Financial Times says it has uncovered documents that show Syria’s central bank under former President Bashar al-Assad air lifted the money in cash to Moscow over a two-year period. Its report says that the currency was flown in $100 bills and €500 notes to Moscow to be deposited in sanctioned Russian banks between 2018 and 2019. The al-Assad government was frequently cash-strapped due to war and Western sanctions, and oversaw a desperate financial crisis that made life extremely difficult for Syrians.
  3. Did a quick search. Most of the deposits appear to be in the east. Makes ya wonder.
  4. Yeah. Can anyone explain this flight pattern of an IL? Pilot drunk? Started watching him last night. There was some interesting shit but this one caught my eye.
  5. Navy running like the cure for STD's is in the end zone.
  6. Sorry Mom, I just woke up from a football watching nap. I am on it. Will post on the food forum under the title DDD likes Filipino thighs.
  7. Though I agree it is more about the power vs. land impact, he does like certain things the Ukraine brings. It goes hand in hand a bit. Russia likes Ukraine. Wants to own it. Always has. Food. They want it and and they do not want others to have it (including those pesky Ukrainians). Russia is the petulant little kid on the block. And now there are off shore reserves to add to that. Russia always "justifies" their land grabs based on threat, never on reality. Fuckers have a history of keeping their population scared of the boogeyman and using that fear for external expansion and internal control. @956 Worldwide, you know the region better than me. Are they still dealing with the Mongol lineage and feeling different? Thus they have to prove they are superior? Those I have worked with got pissed if you brought up that part of history. As if there were only two things in their history, beating Napoleon and Hitler. Oh, and when they got pissed I would remind them that the real Russian heroes were Georgian and that is why they wanted to conquer it so bad.
  8. They have their own style of cooking. I tend to agree with them. Ever since that sriracha assault on American food we seem to have forgotten there are other tastes than burn your asshole.
  9. Have a potato. boil eat. According to this thread eat like russian.
  10. Already answered. Don't be Surly poor. Get good vinegar (cane) and soy sauce (light). And I add potatoes to the pot. Making a batch today.
  11. Has been for quite some time. Now toss in more Russians and gonna be Syria 2.0 with more Emirates.
  12. France has little say in Libya. Especially with the changes in the Sahel. Italy is the EU power in Libya. Yeah, Italy......
  13. From AJ. Official says Russian cargo plane departs Syria for Libya: Report The plane has taken off from Russia’s air base in Latakia for Libya, a Syrian security official stationed outside the facility tells the Reuters news agency. The official stationed at the gate told Reuters that additional Russian departures from the Hmeimim air base in Syria’s coastal Latakia province are expected in the coming days. On Friday, satellite images showed Russia moving military equipment at Syria’s Hmeimim air base, with two Antonov AN-124 cargo planes visible, the agency also said. Seems like they have access to a few. Going to be interesting to see how they consolidate and grow here and try to make it a replacement for Syria. https://www.telegraph.co.uk/world-news/2024/12/03/russia-expands-military-presence-libya-pictures/
  14. Clever of those russians to let the oil tanks intercept the drones. Talk about successful static defense.
  15. Its Santiago, was always easy to get seats there. Now in Santo Domingo when Licey and Escogido play on Sunday? Pretty packed.
  16. Even if they did most of it would be shit I don't want t watch. Pissed about this and am looking at options.
  17. Damn good approach. I just go tired of feeling like shit the next day and always being surrounded by other people and being the sounding board for their problems, the same ones that never went away. Hey dumb ass, maybe because you live in a bar and spend all your money here you are broke and never get laid. It grew as an issue. Part was working at home and isolated. Going to a bar became my social escape. Oh, and dating a younger girl (25 years) who drank like a fish did not help. But damn it was fun. Spoke with a buddy who used to go out a lot with. He cut way back as well. We hang out all the time still, but now instead of spending cash to listen to people at a bar we never really liked we do stupid projects. There are time. After installing an outdoor sink or building a raised garden I have wanted an ice cold beer. The issue is that 1 easily became many. Little fuckers multiple faster than cockroaches.
  18. Antony J. Blinken, Secretary of State As part of the surge in security assistance that President Biden announced on September 26, the United States is providing another significant package of urgently needed weapons and equipment to our Ukrainian partners as they defend against Russia’s ongoing attacks. It includes: Counter-Unmanned Aerial Systems (c-UAS) munitions; ammunition for High Mobility Artillery Rocket Systems (HIMARS); 155mm and 105mm artillery ammunition; High-speed Anti-radiation missiles (HARMs); Unmanned Aerial Systems (UAS); Mine-Resistant Ambush Protected Vehicles (MRAPs); High Mobility Multipurpose Wheeled Vehicles (HMMWVs); light tactical vehicles; Chemical, Biological, Radiological, Nuclear (CBRN) protective equipment; Javelin and AT-4 anti-armor systems; Tube-launched, Optically guided, Wire-tracked (TOW) missiles; small arms ammunition; grenades and training equipment; demolition equipment and munitions; as well as spare parts, ancillary equipment, services, training, and transportation. The United States and more than 50 nations stand united to ensure Ukraine has the capabilities it needs to defend itself against Russian aggression.
  19. And do what? Shit, their embassy's are the historical stir shit up places. And the navy? The med? Do what? I hope they withdraw, hell I hope their sailors get lured by sirens and hit rocks. But this is the last of my concerns for Syria and its future. Or the region for that matter.
