  1. This game is dumb shit. Both teams look incompetent.
  2. Good job. Nice dinners, vacations and football games are the times where I think, “hey, I need to get me some of that.”
  3. Crazy we learned to play defense. I assume the CSU offense is elite.
  4. Bond for his first catch on play 2, for you dummies wo espn news.
  5. I think we're cancer eskimo brothers. They cut out the other end of my GI from what they did yours.
  6. Dilaudid. Straight morphine is for rookies.
  7. Yeah, it was the best more than anything. I usually leave to run or ride longer distances at 5 or 5:30 am and it’s still decent when I’m done. I was suffering the last few miles and I knew it wasn’t going to be over when I got to the finish line because I was going to need time to cool down down. The Fanta I downed was really nice. It was really cool being able to take up space in busy-ish streets I’ve driven on for years. I’m usually alone and even a single car behind me bugs me until it’s gone past. Don’t really have to worry about that with 30-40 in a group.
  8. I went on my first group ride today. Didn’t crash or cause anyone else to crash which was my baseline goal. I went with the C group and started towards the back. The group got split in half at the first light a quarter mile in and that was the last time I saw the C group leader. I ended up in I guess a C minus group for about 15 miles until the rest point where I accidentally left with the B group. These guys were going about as fast as I could hack it. They dropped me and a few others with about 5 miles to go. It was fucking HOOOT by the time we finished about 11:30. But it was a good experience. Looking forward to another.
  9. Been there at MDAnderson playing the waiting game. It was weird that I didn’t get as bent as I figured I would, because it absolutely sucks. I think being at the best cancer hospital in the world helped - the fuck else are you going to do? Time to have at it. FWIW, I’m still here, considered cured, seven years later. Jump in with both feet and have some Xanax.
  10. This is a solid start to a Carl Hiaasen book.
  11. The trophy has to be Jimbo's Championship Plaque, no?
  12. I also gave it up because I was self-medicating but weight started flying off me when I did. Like from fat, right past dad bod into kind of scrawny old man. And then I didn't put on more than 5 pounds in the months being sidelined after knee surgery. I weigh less now than I did in college and law school. Guess my body really doesn't like alcohol.
  13. Sounds like you’re in a fucked up place and need an off ramp. Off ramps are all over the place but you have to be willing and wanting to take it. I spent about ten years driving by them. There’s no magic formula - you’re going to need to get outside your comfort zone. I feared these worst and thought life was going to be really boring. But I went to my doc. He gave me some meds and the transition was relatively smooth. And after a couple of months some really amazing shit happened inside my head. 10/10 would totally recommend.
  14. Yeah, don’t bring a cancer patient to the MDanderson cafeteria to soak up the atmosphere.
  15. Found this twat sitting in my porch early this morning in Houston. I relocated him to Terry Hershey Park. Dude was a lot more spry than I would have thought for a coral snake. He got really agitated.
  16. I did not flood in Harvey so I figure I'm pretty safe.
  17. What is “west of Houston?” I’m at Katy freeway and 8.
  18. I did 16 mile this morning at 15 mph. My neck and back are sore but I guess that's to be expected. Trak fitted the bike for me but didn't comment on form. I'll look that up.
  19. It was certainly a teaching moment. I was riding a road bike like I would my trail bike and jumped up on an empty sidewalk to avoid some cars. The sidewalk had a little curve I missed because I was looking back to see where I could jump back into the road. Front wheel got caught between the sidewalk and the grass and I failed to pop it out. The bike quickly came to a stop when I turned the handlebars and I kept going. I feel pretty wrecked but will be fine. I'm taking it as a warning from the "have some sense gods" and will be cycling more carefully from here on out.
  20. Well, say day one of cycling did not go well. Went over the handlebars.
  21. Yes, cycling just makes your quads burn or the burn goes away?
  22. Thank you all. The bike girl at Trek has been very helpful and invited on a 35 mile ride late August. Well see how the lead in to that goes. Never thought about aches and pains from sitting in the same position for 2-4 hours. I have no ass and can’t sit on a plane for 3-4 hours without getting uncomfortable. I will go get fitted at Trek if they can stomach a Specialized in their store. If not, there’s other bike stores I’ve been to. I’ve been working I a stationary rehabbing after surgery. Does the thigh burn go away at some point? Or is that just part of riding when you push it. The stat bike course put me on 8 & 9% grades that wore out my quads real fast.
