  1. Ehhhhh.........I dont know about runaway. I would definitely give it to her but I could see voting to Citron too. Her numbers are similar and at least up until the last couple weeks the Mystics were in playoff hunt https://www.espn.com/wnba/player/stats/_/id/4433524/sonia-citron
  2. Loyd has been a pretty massive bust for them IMO. They didnt bring her in to avg 11/3/2. When Plum asked out they really thought they were upgrading.
  3. As LV climbs the standings her chances increase. She wouldnt win with them struggling to stay over .500 while Phee was dominating and being on a runaway #1 seed. Especially when she's won 3 of the last 5 MVPs. Voter fatigue sucks but its real. They've wanted to give it to Phee from the start of the season. Now with her out and MIN still playing very well the gap is closing.
  4. Another great game between the Liberty and Lynx. 66-60 Liberty at the end of the 3Q. If these two matched up again in the Finals I would be ok with 7 of these.
  5. The game retired him yrs ago.
  6. Statue is really good too
  7. And this is why I'm not worried about expansion "watering down" the talent level. They have two players who should be top 5 in Most Improved with Veronica Burton and Kayla Thornton. They just needed a chance for bigger roles. There are a lot more like them that will pop for the next expansion teams. The overall success of the Valkyries is an outlier for sure so I dont expect the new teams to do this well but I'm not worried that they wont be able to find good players. Now I just wish they would do something about their uniforms. They're fucking terrible.
  8. Same plus Andy Allo is incredible
  9. New contract kicks in next yr I believe
  10. I'm sure there is context for her statement. No one will look any deeper though. Context: Per Ogwumike, the WNBA's latest offer to its players -- while dramatically increasing the salary cap and maximum base salaries, which a league source suggested could quadruple to at least $1 million from their current $249,244 -- follows the same model as the current CBA. "It's basically the same system that we exist in right now," Ogwumike said. "They're proposing a system that includes revenue that would grow with the business. When you approach it from the perspective of their response to our proposal, yes, money is more, but ultimately if you look at the growth of the business, the money relative to the percentage of everything is virtually staying the same."
  11. This sucks. And I hope NBC/Peacock's NBA presentation is way better than their NFL presentation. I fucking hate every single thing about it
  12. There is now a 2nd offer from a group based in CT that wants to move the team to Hartford at least part of the season. Now the league is reportedly trying to shake them down for a "relocation fee" too. Fertita didnt even offer the full $250M that the other expansion groups did and they are still trying to force the team to HOU
  13. Its interesting how the league is kind of strong arming a selling team. The prospective owner being a present NBA owner makes it even wilder
  14. https://sports.yahoo.com/article/washington-mystics-trade-brittney-sykes-194604210.html The Seattle Storm have acquired 2025 WNBA All-Star guard Brittney Sykes in a trade with the Washington Mystics. In exchange for Sykes, the Mystics receive veteran forward Alysha Clark, the Storm’s 2026 first-round pick, and third-year player Zia Cooke. Washington is waiving third-year forward Sika Koné to complete the transaction and waiving Cooke in a corresponding move. Mystics giving up on the season and going all in with the young guns they have in Citron and Iriafin. They had a really nice run and were the surprise of the league. Meanwhile, the contenders are loading up! MIN getting Dijonai the other day and now SEA getting another all-star to go with the 3 they already have in Diggins, Ogwumike, and Gabby Williams. Add in Magbedor and the rookie Malonga and they are looking pretty stacked. I feel badly for Alysha Clark who went back to SEA as a FA. She won two titles there back in 2018 and 2020. She's the oldest player in the league at 38. I know she didnt want to be on a team that wasnt competing in what could be her last yr. MIN and SEA actually play tonight too.
  15. Thanks. That's not a good idea but at least I am hoping its a negotiating tactic not a hard requirement. They're not getting that much. Between 25 and 35% would be my guess.
  16. I've never seen a W player or union rep say they want 50%. Just that they deserve more than 9.5% that they currently get.
  17. Yeah no way in hell Harper is better than Fox right now
  18. This one is tough. Cost of growing the league. Connecticut obviously has a HUGE women's basketball following but moving them from there to a major city like Boston is a big deal for the league
  19. Big oof there. Cant imagine any way RJ doesnt know about Malone's issues.
  20. They just traded for him there was no way they werent going to extend him and they only way they were going to get it done was to max him
