  1. Stuff that I've seen is that players complained about the long minutes which is an old story with Thibbs. That said, the players should have been told to eat a dick. The most successful coach they've had in 25 yrs shouldn't get fired. Especially when you cannot point to any sort of underachievement this yr on his part. There were some players that didnt live up to expectations (Bridges and OG I'm pointing at you). They had a great season and improved from the yr before. Firing the coach makes zero sense
  2. No problem with that. Just saying Cade made me a believer this yr
  3. He didnt win this yr but he surely wasnt the reason they didnt win. He balled out He can be grating but NBA teams are completely unrealistic. If you dont win a title, you aint shit.
  4. Funny how you all nitpick shit like this LOL MJ was getting inducted into the HOF and he was still talking about how he didnt make his HS varsity team as a sophomore. Every great player talks about some slight (or perceived slight) they encountered along their way and it becomes a part of their story
  5. Perks like that are a FA draw. Especially given that the salaries that teams can offer are not very different, perks can make the difference in a player's decision. They are already tied to the city in their name and the fact that they play in Barclay's Center. They are one of the original teams in the league and have their own name/identity.
  6. Amazing how some of you act like it's your money they are spending. LOL
  7. Pretty cool looking floor for the Dream tonight. Looks like blacktop
  8. https://www.espn.com/wnba/story/_/id/45271533/reports-wnba-liberty-sell-stake-record-450m-valuation Reports: WNBA's Liberty sell stake at record $450M valuation
  9. Meh, WGAS? TV ratings are the 2nd worse data points to start becoming public info after player salaries.
  10. TMac was an all league defender in TOR. Once he became an offensive focal point his defense took a back seat.
  11. TMac was 1st team All NBA 2002 and 2003. Consistently top 5 in MVP voting while being on pretty crappy teams overall. He absolutely was neck and neck with Kobe at that time. I see this notion that Kobe was some kind of overachiever repeated a lot and its actually kind of funny. Yes, he had an insane work ethic but acting like he wasnt CRAZY talented is something I've seen from some lately and nothing could be further from the truth.
  12. Yeah I wouldn't put him over Ja at all. And I'm talking Ja at the time of his draft. I said back then that whoever got the #1 should have done a Chris Webber type trade for a team clamoring for Zion, taken Ja and been better for it. He's a fucking idiot but he can fucking go on top of getting other guys buckets. As far as Flagg goes, he is good, really good. My point wasn't that he isn't. I just don't see that kind of apex level player in him. Has nothing to do with him being white. Like I said, I see him and Paolo similarly. I could be wrong and will have no issue admitting it if I am eventually. Ultimately, we have a little difference in what "setting the league on fire". For me it would be a Grant Hill type of impact where he is top 5ish in a couple yrs. Nothing wrong with top 20ish but that wouldnt meet my definition. That is around where I would have Paolo which kinda goes back to my point.
  13. Prime TMac and Kobe were neck and neck. Kobe even said it. He just never had a good enough team to compete for titles when he was in his prime. Those HOU teams were pretty good and he showed he could still really play, he just couldnt carry a team. He is still very close to the top of my favorite players to watch. I was in ORL when he got there and he scored effortlessly like very few others could. Yep, they said he played well.
  14. Precisely, hard to justify dumping one of the best players to wear your gear. Especially after two games but they wont do a thing with her playing like she is on a team by herself. Maybe she will ask out and make it easy on them if she doesnt want to change.
  15. Yeah, I didnt really wanna go there after two games but she will have to play differently with Paige there now.
  16. I'm wondering if she is on a minutes restriction. Nneka was absolutely dominating though
  17. Man, Arike is still kind of just chucking like she was last yr. They have a PG now who can get her and everyone else easier shots. I'm not sure if its going to be a problem but watching last night it surely looked like one. Most of the times Arike got the ball she just did her own thing. Most of those ended up as wild out of context shots or drives into 2 or 3 defenders.
  18. They are trapping Paige early. She hasnt played it well so far. Coaching opportunity. Coach has sat her down early to discuss it.
  19. Matchup of the #1 and #2 picks in this SEA/DAL game. It will be good to see what Paige learned from game 1 . She will most likely have to guard Skyler Diggins too
  20. I've said this for a while. Especially when the supermax was created. If you draft a player and they become supermax eligible the part above regular max shouldnt count toward your cap. You're penalizing teams for hitting on a draft pick
  21. This seems like ultimately it will squeeze out some mid level guys. If someone making MLE is waived their only option, if they want to stay in the league, is to sign with a crappy team. They may choose to go overseas if they can make more money and wont have an opportunity to go to a team with a chance at a title. The ultimate goal is to put pressure on the top level guys and make them the fall guys for not being able to keep teams together. The NBA tried parity in the early-mid 70s and it is widely seen as the worse era of the league. It will be interesting to see how that works out.
  22. Lets take a step back. What is your definition of setting the league on fire? Of the last 5 ROYs: Ja, Lamelo, Scottie Barnes, Paolo, Wemby who do you think he is as good as coming in? I'd have him slotted in a tie for 3rd with Paolo behind Wemby and Ja. I didnt think Paolo was special coming out either. Still not sold on him being a franchise level player.
  23. No way Bailey is better. Shit they had the #2 and #3 prospects and didnt even make the tourney. We've seen those kinda players before in Fultz and Simmons. If you cannot get your team to the tourney and at least win a game or two I'm not buying that you can dominate pros. Too many examples of great players on subpar teams still getting a game or two in the tournament (Steph, Ja, Kawhi, and more) for me to put in faith in Bailey being that good. That said I really dont think either is a franchise player. Those clips weren't really special to me. Just a very good CBB player. We will see.
