  1. I went all in on the S&P 500 around the same time.
  2. CA will forgo its beliefs and fuck the fattest pig (TX) at party if there’s money to be made. An economic alliance between CA and TX would conquer all. We just need an unscrupulous evil billionaire who understands both sides of that coin to lead the way.
  3. Might as well watch the world burn with some popcorn and a beer at Alamo. Fuck it. In.
  4. I guess so. I verified I do have the exact model I posted. I don't worry about that shit at the price point. All I know is that they are sharp and hold the edge really well.
  5. Grabbed tickets to Jenny Lewis at Moody in the artist presale today. The code is CHERRYBABY if you want it.
  6. I sharpen twice a year. They hold their edge really well.
  7. I'll try a lower count next time but that seemed to be what worked best for my knives. I only buy Victorinox knives. They're inexpensive and have been far superior to my old Shun & J. Henkel knives I've had in the past. They've lasted close to a decade going through that sharpener with zero issues so I'm not super concerned about it.
  8. I can't handle a cluttered look. I have an in-drawer knife block. It's the best way to store knives, IMO.
  9. You don't realize how uncomfortable sitting on a wallet is until you go front pocket. I can't imagine going back to the stone ages with a bi or tri fold. There's also the convenience of flashing your ID without having to open a wallet and remove it. Previously, I wouldn't have thought saving 5 seconds would be a game changer, but it is.
  10. Once you go front pocket wallet, you won’t go back. Travelambo Front Pocket Minimalist Leather Slim Wallet RFID Blocking Medium Size https://a.co/d/jgyhqOr
  11. Man, Paramount+’s studio hosts are unbearable. I love Henry but I’m not sure he even watches the match.
  12. Do we have enough in the wreath fund to put this up on a billboard outside the airport?
  13. This chucklefuck is up for the challenge.
  14. We are steering our girls out of state. I asked my junior if she wanted to apply to any safety schools in Texas and she told me to fuck off.
  15. Who do interracial people marry? Are we all gonna have to submit our 23andMe DNA results to verify we stay in our racial lane?
  16. I have this. It's as simple to use as can be and results in a very sharp edge. 15 pulls through #1, 10 pulls on #2, and 5 pulls on #3. Done. https://a.co/d/bymECqX
  17. It's not just confusing but the multiverse renders all events inconsequential. No one cares if a character dies since there's just another variant to be pulled from another universe. Kang can be defeated by ants but here's another infinite number of Kangs waiting in the wings. Who cares. Maybe the one story that could've been good would've been a Multiverse version of Civil War. Have the bizzarro Avengers from another universe attempting to defeat our Avengers because they breached the multiverse. That would've probably sucked too.
  18. It's an election year so it'll go hard. All in.
  19. This was meh. Spending 10 minutes each on 18 sequential events of his life doesn’t really make a good narrative. Maybe the 4+ hour director’s cut that will be coming to streaming will make something out of this mess.
  20. Which neighborhoods will that actually have an impact? Virtually every central Austin neighborhood has deed restrictions for one dwelling per lot. At most, some do allow a detach guest/maid's guest house that is limited in size. The HOME ordinance specifically says deed restrictions will supersede the ordinance. I'd love to know which 'hoods don't have deed restrictions. I'm gonna guess it's just a handful scattered throughout the city. All of Pool's district has deed restrictions. It made it easy for her to look progressive without it having any effect on her constituents.

    Tex Mex

Met someone at Mama Betty's on Parmer the other day. I'd never heard of this place since I am never up north. This place was really, really good. They probably have the best tortillas in town by a large margin. It was very San Antonio style Tex Mex and those were the best tortillas I've had outside of SA. I had the Mama Betty tacos which were fajita soft tacos with queso. They were great. If I find myself in BFE again, I'll definitely go back.
  22. Texans don't give a shit. As long as they can complain about Biden's gas prices and Mexicans, they don't give a fuck about giving up rights.
  23. Grew up with my grandma saying the catch a N by the toe, Jew me down, the black side of town was N Town, black babies were pickaninnies, etc. I am still not sure what the real name of the N Toe flower is. What’s weird is writing all that up makes me think my grandma was racist AF but she’d never said a bad word about any person regardless of race. She would buy a disabled black lady groceries every week and leave them on her porch. She’d never even met her or told her she was dropping off groceries. It was just someone she’d heard was struggling and decided to help. Just did it weekly for years. At Christmas, she’d drop of dozens of gifts for that lady’s grandkids she was raising. She just used the casual racist language she grew up with. 1970-80s Texas was a strange place.
  24. Never heard of her but I'm digging every song I've listened to on Spotify so far. Just ordered her album.
