  1. Agreed. Unluckily, there’s just the house, a bank account, a pension, and a 401K for assets. Luckily, there’s no debt at all. The funeral home said a week for the death certificate so closing shouldn’t be delayed at all. My wife was already a co-owner on the bank account. The 401K and any pension payout will be rolled into an inherited IRA for my wife. The timing works for our retirement in 6 years so that we could not draw our own retirement and just takes the required payout from the inherited IRA to minimize taxes that year. The title company already sent updated documents for my wife to sign. I emailed at 9pm and it arrived at 7am. They must really want to get paid.
  2. I liked it but the ending simultaneously ties up a few loose ends and is tonally WTF. It is a much smaller movie than the trailers lead you to believe. Also, after you watch it, you’ll understand why the porn parody will be called 28 Inches Later. Samson must’ve been splitting ladies in half with that hog.
  3. It was filed with the county clerk. By execute, I just mean that I have to provide a death certificate for the transfer to happen. The title company is in the loop.
  4. As durable power of attorney, my wife is selling her mom’s house. It is under contract with closing scheduled for late July. The kicker is her mom just passed away. There is a transfer on death deed that will transfer the property to my wife. My question is, can she proceed with the sale as the POA or do we have to execute the TOD deed prior to sale?
  5. Please include The Flying Spaghetti Monster's "The Eight I'd Really Rather You Didn'ts" 1. Don't be a sanctimonious jerk: Don't act superior or judgmental about others' beliefs. 2. Don't use my existence to oppress: Don't use religion to harm or control others. 3. Don't judge people based on appearance: Treat everyone with respect, regardless of how they look or dress. 4. Don't engage in harmful behavior: Don't do anything that would offend yourself or a consenting adult. 5. Don't build temples: The FSM doesn't want extravagant displays of worship. 6. Don't put people in cages: This is a more direct call to action against oppression. 7. Don't work too much: Prioritize happiness and well-being over endless work. 8. Don't censor things: Encouraging open discussion and freedom of thought.
  6. From what I've read, the manual stuffer is the way to go though. My grinder will do it, and I got a cheap foot switch to control things. So I'll probably try that first since I have it. But looking down the road, the manual route may be the way. Shitty video quality but you don't need equipment...
  7. She's 18 so it's in her own Roth. Yes, She made $9K so she (I) could contribute the full $7K.
  8. My concern is that a lot of these high dividend funds just haven't been around long enough to get a good sense of true performance. Maybe when I retire in 7 years, I'll completely change my tune and move a large amount into SPYI, for example. I just have a hard time doing it with only 2 1/2 years of data available for back testing.
  9. My kid got her first part-time job in '24. I didn't tell her but I started a Roth IRA for her and contributed the full $7,000. I will do that every year until she graduates college. That'll be her college graduation gift.
  10. Dividend income isn't free money. I'd rather just invest in solid index funds and withdraw my 5% a year. Funds that just chase ever increasing dividend payouts generally underperform index funds.
  11. Why cater to him? Let him leave and be left out of the decision making process.
  12. This was meh. It was the same scene recycled, what, 3-4 times? Go meet with and renege on the original deal. Offer new terms. Get denied. Something weird happens. Agree on new terms. Rinse and repeat.
  13. The school consolidation virtual open house is next week. We are all getting proper fucked with this. If you filled out the school consolidation survey a few weeks ago, there were several questions that tried to trick you into agreeing to consolidate your home school. Im sure they’ll pull out that data to show we want this.
  14. Kolaches & Klobasneks down in Shiner-Hallettsville-Yoakum are better than any place in West.
  15. The Well seems like an odd band to book for the hipster douche bag crowd that’s usually at Central Machine Works.
  16. This must’ve been trending because the original post showed up in my Facebook feed. My first thought was also gay.
  17. RMNP holds back 40% of tickets for the day before. For reference, when I got tickets last year, there were 180 passes available right at 7PM.

I get surprised about once a month. I think I currently have about 8-10 preorders that are out in the ether.
  20. Power just came back on. Just in time to throw all the groceries we bought yesterday.
  21. Power is out again in 78757. At least we had power for 12 hours. I don’t think we will get service restored as quickly this time.
  22. Just got home no power in 78757. We were at Mission Impossible at the Village Alamo and right before the show the theater flooded through the emergency door. The water went all the way to the 3rd row. The show went on.
  23. Back when Showtime played “Showtime Shorts” in between movies, that was my favorite one.
