  1. Yeah, I don’t mean that he’d steal our recruits, just that we’ll probably have a harder time landing some of those Dallas guys now like Wheaton, keeping Davis, etc. I’m not as worried about Byrd or other Duncanville guys because we’ll have JQJ and CTJ to recruit him. Who knows though. JQJ, and to a lesser extent CTJ, are a big deals in Dallas, so we may not lose much without Samples in the interim. i joked about it when the news came out, but letting Samples get on the road for a year and then bringing him back to UT would be pretty Mensa. I’m hoping for it to happen.
  2. Nahlin thinks this might be a two-TE class, with Juan Davis the other take. https://247sports.com/Player/Juan-Davis-46083889/
  3. He and Davis is a very nice start to the offensive side. Should make Stone or Milroe a happy camper.
  4. Milroe also gives you a guy in the Houston area that other recruits would take notice and he could help with. Dallas area already looks good for this class with Davis and potentially Duncanville and DeSoto kids getting on board.
  5. Getting Milroe, who is a better fit for this offense than Stone, ( and maybe Campbell? ) would probably help with Houston recruits. DFW already looks promising with JQJ committing and Quay on board.
  6. Q. Davis, Juan Davis, and JoJo sound good for 2021 WR class. Maybe Neville??
  7. That's from McComas. He also had this: "Quay Davis said Texas feels like home, and he’s working on making the Dallas movement strong. Get the sense a lot of these young Dallas prospects have a lot of state pride."
  8. First in not worried about hand size. Quay reads surly
  9. Don't remember if I posted this, but Quay Davis is visiting this weekend too.
  10. Also visiting this weekend: https://247sports.com/player/juan-davis-46083889/
  11. Full list of TX guys in the Rivals100 5 RB Camar Wheaton 7 OL Savion Byrd 10 OL Tommy Brockerymeyer 20 QB Preson Stone 38 DL Ja'Tavion Sanders 40 OL Donovan Jackson 64 DL Landon Jackson 71 DL Tunmise Adeleye 73 CB Latrell McCutchin 74 WR Quaydarius Davis 80 WR Shadrach Banks 86 DL Marcus Burris 88 ATH Billy Bowman 90 OL Bryce Foster 96 WR Latrell Neville 97 OL Jaeden Roberts 98 QB Jalen Milroe 17 total For reference there are 14 TX kids in the 2020 Rivals100 so I guess it's not too far out of the ordinary. We do look really good at the top of the 2021 list though. Landing two top 10 tackles in one class would be insane.
  12. As for OL Tommy Brockerymeyer at 10, Donovan Jackson at 40, Bryce Foster at 90 Quay Davis at 74 A bunch of TX DL in there too The entire state is so stacked next year
  13. 2021 looks to be the class that could be a number one ranked in the nation? Wheaton, Quay, Brockermeyer, Jackson to kick shit off?
  14. https://texas.thefootballbrainiacs.com/2019/06/open-post-tuesday-june-11th/ Darius Terrell gives his thoughts on Quay Davis in today's TFB Open Post.
  15. Mike at night: I was able to see new Texas commit Quay Davis in action tonight. The four-star receiver played on both sides of the ball in 7v7 action. Davis actually had two interceptions at DB, and he showed off some incredible athleticism. Davis said afterward that the relationship with Ra’Shaad Samples and the chance to stay close to home and represent his state was huge for him. He wanted to get his commitment out of the way so he could focus on high school ball and help build the 2021 class. Davis said that his recruitment is completely shut down at this point. —If I had to pick someone to watch to be the next member of the 2021 class, I’d say it’s Garland Lakeview Centennial running back Camar Wheaton. Wheaton is close with Davis (they play on the same 7v7 team), and he also has a strong relationship with Ra’Shaad Samples. Wheaton doesn’t say much to media, but I spoke with a source who indicated Texas had a lead in his recruitment, and it wouldn’t shock him to see Wheaton shut things down soon. The only other school mentioned for Wheaton was Kansas. In fact, Kansas is in the conversation for a lot of Dallas prospects. Les Miles is obviously playing a factor, but wide receivers coach Emmitt Jones is a former high school coach from South Oak Cliff, and he’s a made man in the metroplex. I put in a crystal ball pick for the Longhorns to land Wheaton. —Another prospect taking notice of the Dallas to Austin movement is Kimball cornerback Ishmael Ibraheem. Ibraheem was offered by the Longhorns last week, and he’s been building a relationship with Texas cornerbacks coach Jason Washington. Ibraheem would like to visit Austin soon, and he mentioned that Davis and Ja’Quinden Jackson are friends of his. Ibraheem said that seeing them commit to Texas piqued his interest in joining them.
  16. I just saw that Davis is 6'. He plays much taller than that. Watching his film I was thinking X but his height explains why people are putting him at Z.
  17. A quick look at the 2021 class that is absolutely stacked. Six 5 star prospects already. 1. Tommy Brockermeyer- I mean... is there any doubt he's going anywhere other than Texas? 2. Camar Wheaton- Very good shot at landing him 3. Preston Stone- Looks like he's going to end up at Texas. He's a playmaker and you take a 5 star QB anytime you can. 4. Savion Byrd- JQJ is going to put up the longhorn signal 5. Ja'Tavion Sanders- How are we looking here... I have no clue 6. Landon Jackson- Have a very good shot here. We'll land at minimum 3 of the 5 stars with solid chance at 5. I think Quay Davis should be in the 5 star conversation and I think he's going to rise up but man he's got some crazy competition to get in there.
  18. Anyone got track times for Quay Davis?
  19. Yup... we basically got anyone we wanted from there when Mack was the coach but something has changed. That and I believe he’s adamant on playing with that QB prospect (Davis??... can’t remember his name) and we aren’t showing much interest in him. Also doesn’t help that Evans is telling all of them we barely beat Georgia haha.
  20. https://247sports.com/player/quaydarius-davis-46055970/ Roach has him CB'd to Texas since 3/6/2019
  21. Do you think A&M will break their NS curse by getting at least one of Davis and Banks?
  22. I’ve read on a Nebraska site that they lead for Davis. He seems like a great fit for Frost’s offense, but I have no idea which Nebraska 9.95ers are credible.
  23. He's going where Dematrius Davis goes. We aren't really recruiting Davis.
  24. Looks like we are in a real good spot with Davis and JoJo for WR in 2021. I'm guessing we'll probably take 3?
