  1. how many runs do we rack up tonight?
  2. Didn't see a thread about this and think this is a topic worth discussing. Widespread violence in that country related to the midterms. https://www.msn.com/en-us/news/world/man-tosses-severed-head-at-voting-station-as-mexicos-midterm-election-violence-rages/ar-AAKLGdD?ocid=uxbndlbing
  3. @VolenteHawk Just put a pile of money on Texas over 7.5. what looks good? Saw KU is 1.5. How sad.
  4. Hey@MNLonghornFUKM and@GopherRock , when were you going to tell is about this Minneapolis beer squeezing in on our universe? Don't think I've ever spent a weekend in the Cities before when it was 20 degrees hotter than Austin. But the Humphrey terminal had this tasty brew on tap.
  5. Pretty cool little discovery could add chapters to our history books. https://www.sciencealert.com/shocking-new-findings-suggest-meso-america-was-home-to-humans-33-000-years-ago
  6. My Son-in-law's parents will have their 50th Anniversary Saturday. They live in Keller. They are planning to go to Outback to celebrate. He would like to get some suggestions from Surly so that he can take them someplace better. Help me help him. As my daughter told me, "Patty deserves to go someplace where Dan has to put on long pants at the very least". $100/person is not too much.
  7. Guy hears a knock at the hotel room and thinks it’s his wife so he runs and jumps off the balcony trying for the terrace of the room below. Also, turns out it wasn’t his wife. 8. We have a ton of awesome restaurants in Houston. Starting this thread not to talk about the places you’ll go to on a lazy Friday/Saturday for TexMex or whatever. I want to hear about some of the places y’all like to go and really enjoy the food/service/wine, date nights, whatever. Some examples: Hugo’s: probably my favorite restaurant in this city. Just always have a really fun time there and love the food. Honestly any of that group’s restaurants could be listed here. Helen’s in Rice Village: Love Greek food and wine, very cool spot (especially once covid shit is over/pre-covid) Field & Tides: reminds me of my family’s restaurant that I grew up in. Neat spot, and I’ve loved every meal I’ve ever had there. Just some examples. whatchall got?
  9. Needs to be done before next senate elections. We gotta make sure to replace him after getting screwed by the Merrick garland and RBG disasters. we gotta stop the bleeding.
  10. So it's basically a joke/meme that EVERYONE gets robocalls for auto extended warranties. We are all trying to stop the robocalls but that shit will never happen. Robo calls and automation were built for each other. So instead of trying to treat the symptom, why not treat the fucking problem, the asshole companies who use robocalls/spam for business. It would be easy as fuck to punish the companies, so why aren't we doing it? Until we make it painful for companies, we'll always have robocalls.

  12. Graduating this May moving back home for work. Only bars I've gone to are Kirby Icehouse and a couple random bars in Midtown. Where should I be going in Houston as a new grad? What places have good weekday or weekend specials? For reference, mainly looking at inner-loop and West Houston.
  13. Ms. Brown’s old district included JAX, so I’m hoping for a reunion with Corch Irvin Myers and 3rd string TE Tim Tivo.
  14. It has it all. Arkansas, a superhero and epic farks Little Rock has a serial killer
  15. PSA, Parks and Rec fans - Peacock has added "producer's cut" versions of a bunch of episodes, sprinkled throughout the seasons. Today I was watching Flu Season 2 and wondering how in the world I'd missed certain things, and then realized what was up. It's a good time for a rewatch!
  16. Cop kills dog and owner https://www.mlive.com/news/jackson/2021/04/deputy-kills-attacking-dog-then-kills-angry-owner-police-say.html
  17. Told my kids that I needed to leave by 5:40 so I could make it to LA by 7AM. My 6 year old said “Daddy, you won’t have time to make your smoothie in the morning.” Then he runs to the pantry, grabs his favorite Z bar and a pack craisins, and said “Here you go. You can eat these so you won’t be hungry.” 🥰
  18. Working on planning a October honeymoon and looking a different combinations for a PNW/California trip. Leading idea right now is flying to Sacramento, hoping a train up to Portland then going up to Seattle with stops a Mt’s Hood, Rainer, and Olympic National Park. Back up idea is driving the PCH from Oxnard north. I’m open to any suggest or advice you all might have
  19. Very happy to see the First Lady visit the Navajo Nation; her third trip and first as the First Lady.
