(sigh) OK, good win. Should have been a sweep, but I'll take it.

It just hasn’t responded as well as the left knee. Have had knee issues going back to childhood have had two Orthos in Texas do bang up jobs on them than I had in Ky and here in NY. The one Doc in Texas was from Pa, we’d talk Pirates baseball during my appointments.

LCRA just sent an update to the marinas they may have to open Buchanan floodgates. Prepare accordingly. If that happens, combined with this plug coming down the Llano that extends all the way to Junction is going to do wonders for LT. I am giving up on predictions but dont be surprised if it sails past 670 either way.

I think the answer is there are so many big names from politicos to titans of industry to international leaders and royalty no one was ever going to release anything the judges would have also accepted

I never knew we had so many Filipinos play football here.

Sinner was better today. Carlos couldn't hit his serve for some reason and that was the big difference. Also thought he went to the dropshot too often. The thing that sucks is that Sinner shouldn't have been in the final in the first place after that free win down 2 sets against Dimitrov. He got a break playing against an injured Djokovic too. Unless someone else really steps up, these guys are going to play each other in a ton of finals though. No one else even seems close to them right now.

Gotterup played college golf at Rutgers University from 2017 to 2021.[3] In 2019 he won the Metropolitan Amateur and New Jersey State Open, and was given the Metropolitan Golf Association Jerry Courville Sr. Player of the Year Award.[2] He transferred to the University of Oklahoma for 2021–22, where he won the Haskins Award and Jack Nicklaus Award as the top college golfer.[4] It also says that he lives in Edmund, OK now. I guess we might have to be on the lookout.

Ya there is something weird happening that didn’t used to happen. It’s not about going to other sites. The browser (safari) is no longer loading Surly when to try to return to the site, or go back to the previous load. Instead it seems to load a Twitter pic. Definitely a new artifact.

Keep Jasmine in the House so she can run the House Judiciary committee after the Democrats win back Congress in 2026.

Not to be a huge sunshine pumper, but we get our next Brice Matthews tonight.

Nobody in the damn league loses their helmet like Josh Smith. I had a novel idea that we should measure his fucking head and get something that will stay on.

The most fascinating thing to me about these past few days is that if they wanted this story to go away, he and Bondi decided to do the exact opposite, and we re seeing both the “Streisand Effect” and a the perfect example of “gaslighting” happening at the exact same moment. I also like that he lumped Hunter Biden’s laptop in with the hoaxes. These are literally things that more than a few MAGA or MAGA-adjacent types really give a shit about for some reason, and that helped drive a major conspiracy movement (Q/Qanons) and he’s telling them to forget about it, that it’s nothing, and if they believe it, they are a part of the leftist conspiracy against him.

I used to go to a lot of road games. It would be a weekend trip designed around soaking in the game day experience of that school, with little time for exploring the greater locale. I would much rather do this in a place like Baton Rouge than Palo Alto. The amount of fun I had in a trip had a lot to do with the game itself and experience around it. I travel around the US as much as I can, and my actual vacations rarely overlap with places that have major colleges.

So we can say for certain Moss was getting an early start on wanting to kick people in the face. He's a hard worker and doesn't just sit on his ass and talk, he makes shit happen even to random bystanders. As an extra lulz, I just want to point and laugh at all the aggies and crystal ball experts pemciling Lamar Brown to that cesspool only to whiff.

I posted in the DT thread about my experience in joining a search team for a couple of days. My CR comment on that is that nearly all of the efforts going on in Hunt right now are being carried out by non profits. Some are religious based, others are ex military. I am positive that a lot of these folks were MAGA. Believe me, there were lots of signs of where these folks came down on things. What I am having difficulty reconciling is that these people were obviously doing good work and I am appreciative of their efforts, but are also supportive of some of the worst people to ever inhabit our government, and who are doing some pretty terrible things. There were several chaplain types walking around supporting those who were doing the work. I give them credit for that. But, one in particular came up to check on me and ended our discussion by asking if I wanted to pray for our leaders and especially our President. Out of respect for the work he was doing, I did not make a big deal of it but it was just hard to reconcile. Like I said, it is extremely admirable what these people are doing and I want to give them credit for that. I just don’t understand how they recognize the suffering of people in one way but not another.

And go to the break with a five game lead at worst. Raise your hand if you thought that was going to be the case in April.

Texas Recruiting Notes 2026: Boulevard of Broken Bagmen

We offered Cooper early in the year and he did an unofficial visit. We tried to get him into one of the big official visit weekends but he had long standing relationships with other schools so he OV’d there instead while we pursued Crowell hard. Crowell was always top on the board. When choice was here, he was leaning hard towards Texas. I think he had taken 4 visits to Texas. Once Choice left, he got upset and eliminated Texas the next day. Sark still recruited him however. KJ was always the 2nd back in the class. Crowell and Cooper are more like Baxter, big physical backs that can inside with very good speed for their size. Edwards is built more like Jayden Blue. Once Crowell picked Bama, we moved from 1A to 1B. If we prioritized Edwards as the feature back and offered him the same NIL package Crowell and Cooper are getting, he’s probably in this class. Osborne is also a smaller back and we stopped recruiting him when Chad Scott got hired. Cooper is borderline 5 star back and would be one of the highest rated running backs outside of Baxter and Bijan to commit to Texas, assuming it all plays out in our favor. I believe he was committed to Georgia at one point in time.
