  1. No, we do not. I’m not a doctor so my opinion won’t count in your view, but he didn’t look mentally incapacitated to me. He looked old, weak, and feeble compared to other appearances like the SOTU and even the day after speech. Yes, I’m fully aware of the medical definition of mentally incapacitated. The point of the joke tweet was to illustrate the absurdity of anyone saying they would now vote for Hitler just because the other option had a weak appearance (whether physical or mentally). Yes, he may round up the Hispanics and kill them in concentration camps, but at least not on a mental decline due to old age. Of course, this is Surly, so a bunch of pedantic assholes.
  2. Who the hell do we root for now? Sage sucks, Annie sucks big time now, Ryan can fuck right off. At least A-Train is trying to redeem himself. MM is probably the least irredeemable. Also, since Neuman & Hughie are together in real life, I wonder if when they 69, her nose tickles his rear?
  3. Oregon hasn’t recruited anywhere close to us the past 3 years and they have unlimited monies. OSU and Georgia have been consistently good for 10+ years while we’ve been in the dumpster. We just finished top 3 in the first year where our NIL was fully formed, how do you know we can’t be consistently top 3 yet? This is dumb as fuck.
  4. Biden has done a really good job and mostly restored America’s place in the world. But he simply can’t run this time. If he wins, he would be 86 years old at the end of the term. There is no possible way an 86 year old can do the duties he is required. This is just the nature of the human condition. Not one of here would want an 80+ year old boss. And Harris isn’t the answer. 99% of America (and the world) couldn’t pick her out of a lineup. The fate of democracy is at stake. I hope Joe will do the right thing…

    SEC Network

SEC Network goes LIVE from Texas As part of our move to the Southeastern Conference, we are excited to welcome our friends from SEC Network to the Forty Acres this Sunday. Beginning at 5 p.m., join co-hosts Laura Rutledge and Peter Burns for SEC Now: Live from Texas for full coverage of the day’s activities including insight from Jordan Rodgers, Roman Harper, Paul Finebaum, Marty Smith and Jimmy Dykes. Yours truly and many of our head coaches will be making guest appearances throughout the day, and we’d love to have you join us on national TV! In addition, SEC Network invites all fans to visit the SEC Open House. Located on the South Mall lawn, you can experience live games, studio programming, photo ops and more with six different rooms that will take you on a journey inspired by the SEC Network’s rich history and programming.
  6. Justin Loer LHP (LSU) and Cade Fisher LHP (Florida) entered the portal yesterday, no idea if Texas will pursue but we need lefties and both have a lot of upside and swing and miss
  7. From Rome: Tivoli Viterbo Cerveteri Orvieto Spoleto Castel Gandolfo Lago Bracciano Lago di Bolsena Also, I saw a comment someone made about not sleeping in wines from Campania. To be honest, don't sleep on wines from any region. Each area has lots of great wines, grapes and wineries that may be completely unknown outside of Italy. We are visiting a winery today and one of the grapes used in that particular valley is a white grape called Famoso. This winery also makes exceptional reds. Had a nice refreshing Pagadebit last night which is another white grape from the area. Whether you are in Puglia, Veneto, Basilicata or whatever, lots of great wines at inexpensive prices. Don't get roped in my the Americanized prices in Tuscany.
  8. We do have club Hockey. Would be delighted to see it moved up to take on the Minnesota, NDSU, Denver, Boston College, Boston, Michigan, Cornell, and Quinnipac. We'd get our asses beat for a decade, but then I think we could get competitive. NIL would be dope, and The Stars haveA. huge following, so it's not like Hockey is foreign here.
  9. We would absolutely clean up in men's soccer. The amount of talent this state produces yearly is absurd. Then hit up Cali, PA, MD, and Florida and we would dominate. Of course we would have to move our team to the B1G or elsewhere since the SECx3 doesn't have it. But adding a women's gymnastics team has been a long time coming.
  10. Shoe cause? Aggy is going straight Woogie now. We're going to need a restraining order on that whole school
  11. Sure thing Look, I’d vote for a turnip over Trump. We need to pray about 100k over 5 states feel the same way.
  12. It’s not that complicated. This is the type of attrition you expect with a coaching change. The dude hit .209 last year. I’m sure he was in line to improve as a sophomore but he also probably isn’t trying to engage in a battle for his spot after starting 40 games last year. This is no longer David Pierce managing this roster man. The harsh reality is there are 20 Dee Kennedy’s in the portal. We like to get attached to our own players because we want them to succeed but the old saying of “they will bite as a pup” still applies to about 90% of guys. For every Jalin Flores breakout sophomore campaign, there are 50 other guys who dont break out. Flores also had much more pedigree and tools to work with.
  13. These are national polls... IE don't mean shit. Do these people believe we live in a true democracy? I only care what people in 6 states think.
  14. Kent had 1 HR (against Prairie View) in 83 ABs as a frosh. Only 4 this past year in 24 fewer ABs than Kennedy who also had 4. PG had one as the #500 recruit, one as the 188th recruit. I’m guessing the #500 guy was not short of opportunities or instruction. Just so I’m clear, you are ok giving up on a dude after 1 year? A year in which most believe we had coaching shortcomings. Even with the improvement that Flores showed year over year.
  15. Let me correct myself. We were taught this way (if your write it out), but it wasn't explained this way... Which is crazy.
  16. I’m glad we are moving on from an era where we spent days arguing about Dee Kennedy or Jack O’Dowd playing second base.
  17. Yep. Even a coach who doesn't want to be an aggy would rather not have a championship on his mantle and just throw a series. Championships are just rings that clash with his new suit. Screw it all, just throw the series and forget about a championship winning season. How do these retards keep procreating?
  18. When I went to Punta Cana we asked them about hurricanes. They were like "they never hit here - they just hit PR and veer north or south. We are blessed. PR is cursed."
  19. Something tells me all the hype behind Texas NIL isn't all true. Surely we're ahead of the game and have a high budget, but the fact that we can't really consistently crack top3 and struggle to crack the top5 recruiting classes despite this "monster budget" and relatively solid recent on-field success is a tell. Oregon has been more consistent on the field, yes, but they don't really have any signature wins/playoffs/etc. like we do. UGA is the new behemoth (justified given their winning) and tOSU is always at the top but... they're [UGA/tOSU] a league above in terms of acquiring talent and roughly equal in terms of getting portal talent. Bama was in that class, too, with the Saban discount and, of course, the absurd past 15 year run. But they're not exactly losing tons of steam and will likely finish, again, right around where we do in terms of rankings. Of course star power isn't everything, but it kind of is in terms of actually winning championships (conference or national). I know Sark is just getting going (and he's really grown on me; I was full-on Team Urban) and last year was phenomenal but we haven't really been able to capitalize on any of that, at all, in terms of recruiting success. That might change, but nobody is predicting us to vault into the top 2. If we finish top 4 again in the playoffs, maybe top 3 (recruiting). But something really smells about our NIL hype. We're being lied to by the $9.99ers. Besides Arch, we don't ever lock up top10 players in the country a year out with regularity. We've been having to steal them at the last minute. Meanwhile, tOSU and Georgia are already locking down 5* guys in 2026. Traditionally, going back to Mack, we offer national top guys late, rarely get them locked up early, and are always f*ing scrambling. Sometimes that works (last year, it worked really well), but we're not living up to the hype of "unlimited power" from the recruiting Death Star that we're being fed, sorry to say. That being said, I feel like our on-field product IS definitely getting way better and I'm absolutely m*f*ing hyped for this season and next given our absurd offensive talent.
  20. The kick in the ass seems to have been worth it if we get more NC rallies, enough with Slow Biden, leave that for the ads.
  21. Depends on where you want to be. Can't go wrong with Boulder or Golden. I would pick Boulder, personally, but it's a little farther from Coors Field. Not that much farther, plus you can take the light rail into Coors Field. Personally, I would still choose Boulder
  22. It’s kind of a shame we have to have a president
  23. Always loved Martin mull going back to Fernwood To night. That evolved out of Mary Hartman mary Hartman. I’ve never seen it in syndication.
  24. Uh, we already pay Ggg more than that. It was noted a few pages back. There is nothing slight about his results.
  25. So, tragic for a lot of reasons. What are some other institutions that have followed similar paths? Is there a way to compare apples to apples and find the outliers? OU, no matter how much they suck (it’s 10:50 and OU still sux), this is not the only university in this situation. There may be several (past) views on how each institution approached the similar issue. For example, Texas A&M increased attendance at the expense of capital expansion, cramming as many students into substandard structures, and online classes. I won’t mention the guaranteed contracts…(lol). OU took a different approach, “build it and they will come”! We as a state, send large amounts of our future resources to Alabama, Oklahoma, and other state schools fighting similar issues. Hell, UT, fagetaboutit…top 6%. Great problem to have, but, that has its own issues. Cost per student is a good metric, but not the end all be all. Not sure where I ended with this, but, Holy Cow , Batman…. WTF???1!
