  1. This is starting to sound a lot like the Pierce search. The funny part is that was when we had an interim AD.
  2. Well, there will never be a national debate any earlier than 7PM eastern time so they'd better figure out a way to get Biden "fresh" for the next one. Lends further credence to what Michael Steele said last night that it looked like they filled his head full of facts and he got confused and lost. They should just tell him to get in a verbal streetfight with Donald next go-round. Forget policy, hit a few of your admin high points and then work in the body blows by calling him a felon, a cheating husband, grifter, bankrupter of businesses, rapist, etc.
  3. I mean I would ask the NYT to resign from top to bottom for failing the country before I would ask Biden who only wins elections. The country is fucked fascists on one side neurotic ninnies on the other. Its no wonder Germany did what they did.
  4. We take Schloss, Aggy takes Skip, ou takes Pierce. Welcome to SEC baseball.
  5. Trump is getting raked for lying. Initial polls are unchanged, Biden got a nice fundraising bump and he looked GOOD today. Total attack mode. I’m off the ledge a little bit. I think we were so aghast at Biden we didn’t really see exactly how awful Trump was. today Biden said, “I don’t talk as smooth as I used to, I don’t debate as well as I used to, but you know what I still know how to do? TELL THE TRUTH.” it was an incredible zinger. he repeated the “morals of an alley cat” line and he hammered him as a convicted felon, liar, sexual assaulter, and more. it was good.
  6. Biden needs to step aside (voluntarily or by force) and Trump sucks and shouldn’t win. Both need to be considered the sole goal because Biden winning and/or Trump winning means we all lose. Some will say Biden winning isn’t as bad but it’s really not. We need a functional president and not a barely warm body being controlled by handlers.
  7. How could anyone be surprised with NIL anymore? Aggy got the best class in history by outbidding everyone else and OU did the same with the portal DL plus offered his lil bro. I’m not sure winning a bidding war at a position where it can take 3-4 years to develop is the right strategy but I get the concern.
  8. It’s ok now we have more NIL to allocate to DJ Sanders
  9. I was today years old when I learned that Ineos Grenadier is an SUV... go figure
  10. Imma go out on a limb and say that Skip is a better pitching coach.
  11. Again there is no plan B, because plan B is impossible not only are electors legally bound to vote for Biden, even if he released them you have to have primaries otherwise it is a democrat civil war 2016 Bernie lost primaries and conceeded, people pointed out the delegates went for Hillary 2020 Bernie lost primaries and conceded, people pointed out Biden was going to have them all Now in 2024 everybody is throwing their hat in the ring, socialists, log cabin, centrists, enviromentalists all want their pick there is no primary to point to that their candidate lost = civil war 3 months away from election day. That is reality anybody have a different plan? I mean aside from building a time machine of course.
  12. Lol “we have to pay the fuck out of them to get them to stay but they WANT TO BE HERE”
  13. Summary: Condition: The thing was obviously really dirty. Lots of caked up grease and grime on the grates, sides, lid, everywhere. Burner 3 from right would shoot out flames at me. Burner 4 from right was very hard to light. The ceramic flavorizer/heat distribution bricks had mostly disintegrated, and tons of it had fallen through to the bottom. The cast stainless steel burners were heavily covered with surface rust but otherwise in good shape. The igniters/gas collector boxes were completely rusted through and had broken off and fallen into the basin. The carryover tubes at the back were badly rusted but only one was completely broken. The knobs were corroded and the inserts were all melted and misshapen from the heat, so they didn't really work for turning the D-type valves. Steps: I took it all apart so I could clean it. First I tried to wash the grates with degreasing soap and water, that did nothing. Power-washing helped a little. But really, the only real progress occurred after I took the angle grinder with a wire cup wheel to it. I also used the angle grinder and wire cup to clean all the rust off the stainless steel burners, that was really rewarding. All of the holes were fine, but after washing with vinegar and grinding the rust off, I went back and blew it all out with pressurized air. The old knobs were shot, I ordered inexpensive replacement knobs to replace them. Two valves were shot, I pulled both and took them apart to inspect them and one was really sticky, the other had some broken bits inside. Bought two new ones to replace-- they're almost identical except they're built upside down, odd but liveable. I replaced all three igniter/gas collectors and I replaced the electric automatic igniter switch. None of that had EVER worked since we bought the house, now it's all like new. The rear gas carryover tubes are in rough, rusted out shape, but only one was completely broken. I confirmed the others still work, and I'm having a buddy who works at a metal fab shop make up a new one for me to replace the last one. The new igniter/collectors also act as carryover tubes at the front, so everything works basically as designed, until I can get that new fabbed piece in there. I replaced the flavorizer/heat dissipator ceramic bricks, with the new style ceramic plates that the newest version of my grill uses. That all makes it sound easy but so much of the grill pieces were assembled with stainless steel screws and bolts and nuts and washers, and they were all thoroughly rusted into place. I spent a lot of time with the angle grinder cutoff wheel just sawing through stainless steel, and a lot of time with the Dremel tool and diamond cutoff wheels for the smaller more hard-to-reach places. Every single burner had to have the rusted-out bolts cut off, all three igniters had left rusted trim pieces bolted to the side, etc. It took a lot of time. Total cost for materials came to just over $200. As discussed in this thread above, the cheapest whole drop-in replacement I could find, would have been $700 uninstalled. And the actual direct replacement for my exact grill, would have been around $4,000 uninstalled. This unit has extremely heavy duty cast stainless steel burners and the rest of it is very well built, so I'm pretty happy I went and rehabbed instead of buying a cheaper new one. For anyone interested, I tried a dozen different ways to clean the stainless-- Barkeepers Friend, is definitely your friend.
  14. We did a month in Italy. Orvieto was one of my favorite places we went. We only stayed there 1 night. We were in the area to check out Civita di Bagnoregio, a little hill town accessible only by a walking bridge (or scooter). We would like to go back to Orvieto along with Lucca. We only spent a few hours in Lucca, getting off a train going towards Cinque Terra. It was a cool town. IMO both places are better than Siena.
  15. Yep, on one side you have crazy people who believe the 2020 election was rigged and on the other you have crazy people pretending that JoeB is not a flawed candidate and that last night was not detrimental to his campaign. Arguing with either of those groups is pointless. They are both fucking nuts. But hey, as long as the echoes keep reverberating in the chamber, we must be winning. Right? Right??
  16. The Pit Room’s breakfast tacos slam and go hard. Jalapeño sausage/egg with green sauce was great. The brisket and egg wasn’t as good, but still terrific. 7am-1030am every day at both locations.
  17. One week before the election in 2016, 538 predicted a Clinton win at 66.9% (down from 85% the week before). In 2020 they predicted a Biden victory at 90% and the election ended up being a close Electoral College race. 538 also predicted a 97% chance of Democrats winning the House and said they might expand their majority by a few seats. Everyone relying on polls is in for a rude awakening if they think Biden has this in the bag. People like me were saying this in 2016 and got laughed out of the room for thinking Hilary could lose to a piece of shit like Trump.
  18. Way too early to know. The amount of things each of those lines takes into account is insane - these runs take hours to do on some of the most powerful servers we have. And the slightest wiggle in any of those inputs that wasn't predicted correctly can wildly change the final output.
  19. Maybe they should have had some debates in the Democratic primary a few months ago? Might have been a better time for this debacle to occur. I know I know, incumbents don't need to debate within the party, etc etc, but that was hard to watch last night. Would have been much better coming from within the party to lessen the blows and focus on policy. I do wonder if Biden needs to dump Harris as VP and pick someone that may actually appeal to voters as a "President-in-Waiting." I have a hard time buying the idea that Biden will make it 4 full years before resigning, dying or having the 25th amendment invoked. The narrative from the right is going to shift soon to "Do you really want Kamala Harris to be President? Because that's what you're voting for with Biden" and I think that may appeal to some independents like the anti-Hillary sentiment in 2016. Sure she doesn't have the same baggage, but she's not a strong candidate in the first place. Newsome needs to be the backup plan for Biden. Let Biden make it 2+ years, then ride off into the sunset to let Gavin take over for the next 8 years after that, and maybe things can get back to normal as Alito and Thomas die out sometime during that administration.
