Texas Recruiting Notes 2026: Boulevard of Broken Bagmen

Shane Beamer is a whiny prick who is likely to fold under any type of expectations. His 4 ranked wins last year were A&M (ranked top 10 at the time), Missouri, Vandy and Clemson. Maybe the weakest 4 ranked wins you could ever have. I am definitely fading their hype as any type of "dark horse" this year. -
That’s awesome. We are in Austin, but lots of friends up there too. It’s crazy. Specifically from my next door neighbor girl, the conversation went like, “we had water up to around our necks. I was thirsty, but we were singing songs. Can I play Roblox now?”. One of her (and our) good family friends died in the car with Dick Eastland. And they are sad about it, I think? Water off duck’s back outwardly. Surreal. Im still pretty broken the fuck up about it.

What other plays do they have? 1 - Act of God. Nothing could be done. 2 - Blame Democrats. In Texas. 3 - Blame "those people" wink, wink because Obama's tan suit blah blah blah I'm thinking about going to CafePress and designing a shirt that says something like: DEI = hard 'r'

Texas Recruiting Notes 2026: Boulevard of Broken Bagmen

South Carolina is going to start out ranked and close the season as a dumpster fire. Should be interesting to see how it shakes out for them with that in mind. Sellers basically lost all of his surrounding help and it’s even worse for Stewart on the defensive side. -
Jesus christ - this is really going to be their play??? Such obvious bullshit. All it takes, though, is the AFA president to sling some accusations at a black man, and here comes the entire right-wing echo chamber to chant it into "truth" for 40% of the country.

In a way, the big dude hitting him with little baby taps and going "bang! bang!" was more embarrassing for the little guy than if he actually got punched. Cuz the big dude could have easily taken his head off.

When did Payless Shoes go away?

“Huh. Throwing away the brand we spent 40 years building didn’t go as we planned. Perhaps we should put the name HBO on our HBO app.”

We have worse, and I'll take any vote we can get

Well, we are getting Guy Gardner's Green Lantern right out of the 1980s in this film, so we've already got that example front and center in the trailers. Your comment almost makes me think of the Brave and the Bold series (before it was Batman-centric). I would love for Gunn to dip into other eras and pull some of those characters out and into this one for future films. Gunn seems to have the ability to pick a variety of characters to work with and get us away from the same old same old.

Miami on3 site on Derek Cooper: 4-star RB Derrek Cooper | No. 34 overall prospect, No. 3 RB CaneSport’s picks: Miami +++ We felt like it was all but a guarantee Cooper would end up at Miami shortly after his summer official visits concluded, but he told Inside Texas he wanted to move off his July 12 commitment date so he could visit the Longhorns during the season. We still think Miami will find a way to ultimately get the job done considering the overwhelming effort and resources the Canes have sunk into his recruitment. He’s the highest-ranked remaining uncommitted offensive recruit on Miami’s board by a fairly considerable margin, but this recruitment is getting tight. -
Sure, but, we had a negro president that asked for spicy mustard on his hot dog.

So the stories don't line up. Abbott said the state had “assets, resources and personnel” in place two days before a flood tore through the Hill Country. In place for what, the flood that they didn't know was coming? (Insert MTG joke here) If they knew a flood was coming two days ahead of time you would think that they would have raised the alarm but we still have hundreds of dead. So either the Governor pre-positioned disaster recovery “assets, resources and personnel” ahead of time in a prescient act of preparedness for something the Mayor was not aware of or Abbott is bullshitting. Insert the comic of the two red buttons with "Abbott knew the flood was coming but kept it on the DL" and "Abbott is lying"

We don't want that POS.

Fuck that. All day long I see the echo chambers on Reddit where dumbshits of the left and the right, each in their own echo chamber forums, get delusional about reality because the moderators of those threads eliminate all facts and information that are counter to the benefit of their “team”. Your idea is a terrible one, and it’s that type of thinking why we have all these problems in the first place.

Outside of everyone rolling your eyes at "media scum" while you attempt to laughably accuse any other organization of bias, allow me to try and illustrate the big point here you seem to be missing. And it's obvious that you're missing it even though you've inadvertently outlined it in your post and don't seem to see the signifigance: The governor, who is calling parents asking who to blame Losers, said that there was plenty of notice and resources sent. The mayor, who slept through it, says he has no clue what the governor is talking about. Two sides are saying opposite things, and one will be shown to be a blatant lie, and that motherfucker should face consequences. Now, it's rather obvious who you think the liar is, but whatever, either way, the sunlight means someone deserving should face some fucking consequences, and that's a fucking good thing. But I guess you can go back to finding a solution that "brings back the victims" since "that's what the families of the victims need." I guess maybe you dabble in necromancy? But I'd bet 100 bucks that, short of their dead family and friends coming back to life, victims would settle for some fucking justice and accountability for folks at fault, and THAT can maybe be uncovered by...checks notes...people asking fucking questions and writing articles about it.

I had a different take away. Mine was that communication between city, county, and state sucked ass. But, we are veering away from reported fact (the mayor’s claim, and the state’s claim) to opining on those claims, and I will stop here. My purpose was to highlight your distrust of “biased reporting.”

Already out of surgery and back home resting - great success! I even got an unexpected bonus of repairing a small hernia while they were at it. While pathology results will obviously dictate what comes next, it seems like this could be a more straightforward case than I thought a couple days ago that some rounds of treatment could resolve. I’m going to Texas Oncology for my first appt next week - MIA, I’ll let you know if we’ll possibly be running into each other once the next steps become more clear.

No doubt he will blame everything on Biden. “If Biden wasn’t so corrupt, these yokels wouldve accepted money for a warning system in 2022! Now that I’m here they can accept federal money, which we will give to them bigly, if they invest in TrumpCoin$”

@The Ace of Aces We’re spending only one night in Stockholm, but did try the Restaurant Tradition which serves traditional Swedish and Nordic dishes. My wife had the Swedish meatballs, mashed potatoes, and lingonberries while I had the laxpudding (salmon between layers of potatoes on the top and bottom). I love salmon and the laxpudding didn’t disappoint. My wife is half Swedish and half Norwegian and regularly makes Swedish meatballs and mashed potatoes. The dish passed muster with her, but didn’t blow her away. She couldn’t eat everything on her plate and I got a meatball and a decent taste of the potatoes. If I had to do it again, I’d order what my wife ordered. The meatballs and mashed potatoes were freaking amazing! Not telling my wife that, but should you go to Restaurant Tradition, order the Swedish meatballs. That dish is fucking fantastic. @Chopper This is Kaysa who was our waitress. You’re welcome.
