  1. Fuck off whatever dickhead started the last one. This is the official for the last 2 years where we are 25-4 or something like that I will mock osu at some point. Fuck them. game week shit here
  2. We didn’t win the sec in our first year. The zebras didn’t want us to. Burt Auburn didn’t want us to. We had about 10 things go against us- any of which went down differently, and we’d have hoisted the trophy. We didn’t do that (or have the ball bounce our way, or the whistles in some situations) but we got rewarded for a a good season with the coveted 5 seed. clemson at home, Arizona state in Atlanta and then Oregon, TN or Ohio State in Dallas for the shot to play for it all in the first time under this 12 team format. Texas is as good as anyone in college football this year. Our floor is really high because the defense is pretty great. I think our ceiling is high enough to win it all against who we are looking at playing. Lets freaking do this boys.
  3. First of all, I want to say- fuck you Arkansas- good to get that off my chest. We deliveranced your offense with our defense and did just enough on offense to beat you while crushing your hopes and dreams for 60 minutes, thinking you had a chance when you really didn’t. Twas nice. Next year I think we will probably just do the thing where we beat you by 6 TD’s and you can tell us which loss was more painful. Look forward to checking in on that in 365. Next up- Kentucky. Look- this game is why I think it’s easier for Texas to play in the SEC than the big 12. We have a second rate team that’s coming off a bye and a cupcake. I’m not particularly worried. If that was, say, Iowa State or Kansas State or Tech we would get a jihad of all jihads called down upon us. And that would basically happen 9 times a year. Kentucky? In Austin in November? Betting the vibe from the fanbase and the players is more of a “how cool is it to be here in Austin playing Texas?” than said jihad I referenced with the big 12. For a conference with a lot of talk about “it just means more” I don’t have the slightest bit of respect for “the meat grinder”. This is the type of game those half wits from college station used to talk about all the time. But but but, you don’t have to play a team like Kentucky, who has nfl athletes all over their defense as a mid tier game. Ok? We had to settle for being tech’s Super Bowl and getting schemed for 365 days by legitimately great X and O guys. We will see again this week a shitty offensive team with some athletes that we should easily take care of if we don’t self sabotage. I’m going to go ahead and look forward to the game in College Station in 2 weeks and overlook these generic and boring nothings. Now, I will be very excited when they are in Austin for hoops. Once we get that fixed. Which I assume is next on the agenda. But until then I look forward to getting through the 3rd and final completely and totally generically boring game with zero interest this overrated conference of half wits have served up (MSU, Vandy, Kentucky). maybe yall are more excited than I am for Big Blue to roll into town. I’d just like to see Ewers hit a deep shot or two- get up 14 early- and then point and laugh as they set offensive football back 3 decades.
  4. Well, it’s been a minute since we’ve played these clowns. I could write 10,000 words or I could write 100, maybe I will split the difference We just witnessed a wonderful day of college football. Texas clinched a place in the college football playoffs. Anyone who doesn’t get this is a pants shitting retard (my dad, after his tramatic brain injury is one and he even gets it). Aggy lost to a shitty Auburn team and while they still control their own destiny they are in a win and they are probably in the playoffs situation while if they lose they likely finish as like the 6th best team in the league. Knowing the history of aggy what do you expect? Some fun stuff- we have had a brutal last decade, however: last head to head win- Texas last conference title- Texas 2023, aggy 1998 last playoff appearance- aggy- never- Texas- 2024 i could go on and on and on (and I’m sure some will) but even during the worst time in our programs history we are outdoing those dipshits, and I expect we will crush their spirit next Saturday. About the game: it’s football, anything can happen. But, and I swear this isn’t homer-ish, we literally are better than them in every single position group with maybe the exception of kicker and definitely punter (I’m still low key pissed at Sark about punter). Could they win? Sure. Is that likely? Not really. my guess is we go in as like a 9.5 point favorite on their home turf. Which would make us like a 14 point favorite in Austin. If our offense doesn’t actively buttfuck our defense I don’t see how they score enough to matter to us. I’m not getting into a major prediction of the game situation as there will be a thread for that, but, I’m figuring on Texas winning, as is the historical norm. Hook ‘Em high like an eagle soars, nobody is overlooking this game Bill in Sinton.
  5. I don't see a normal game week thread, and I'm tired of work at the moment. I assume Lagway is all the way out? I didn't watch the Georgia-Florida game, but should we expect a 49-0 type of game like when Gabriel was knocked out the week before OU played us in 2022, or should we expect the Florida backup to come in and torch us since we won't be prepared for him? Also, F this 11 a.m. start time.
  6. Welp, sorry Quinn. I think I accidentally manifested this injury onto you. Hope it isn’t serious and you are back 100% against OU at the latest. Hopefully Mississippi State. I was texting with a friend and we started asking the question- if Quinn could get hurt and miss the ULM game, with no repercussions further on into the year, would that be a good thing. Really- I was thinking more like running a 103 degree fever or something that went away after 24 or 48 hours. We decided it wouldn’t be bad (we are throttling ULM with a surlyite playing QB) and it would give Arch real gametime reps to learn and grow with, and probably let Trey Owens get his feet wet. Looks like that is going to happen. Let’s just hope and pray this is a one week thing and Quinn is back to make his run at the Heisman and 1/1 overall fully healthy as the schedule turns to October. Quinn was awesome before he went out other than a bad throw where I suspect based upon body language and mannerisms he had no feeling in his thumb. He comes out and Arch comes in and scores TD’s on 2 out of his first 3 plays. Not bad. ULM is a very bad football team. We are going to beat them by half a hundred regardless of who plays. Mississippi State is a bad football team- we will beat them by half a hundred if we play well, or 2 or 3 TD’s if we don’t. We are at the most boring part of the schedule right now where we basically have 4 byes between Michigan and OU. That’s important time to work on ourselves, get young guys reps, become a team that doesn’t fuck around and plays to a standard, and avoid injuries that will hurt you against tougher competition. If Quinn is ok when October rolls around, Blue has his juice back Banks is fine (he came back in I’m sure he is) and we’ve gotten backups key reps to get them better than this part of the schedule will have done its job. Game week stuff for ULM here. Hook em High like and eagle soars and maintain focusness. One time, 100 years ago I’m sure ULM kept it within 2 scores of some regional hegemon so Bill in Sinton would smell this threat out from a mile away.
  7. So, sometimes you get smack talk in this post. Sometimes you get talk of beatings we are going to lay down. Sometimes you get hype. Occasionally, you get nerves and excitement. This time, something different. Going to talk a little about what college football means and getting older… Once upon a time, football was a way for me to be involved with other people and act like a normal person, growing up. It was how I related to my grandpa and dad and uncles and stuff like that. They wouldn’t want to talk about current events, or how the world works, or history or economics or faith or other stuff I was interested in growing up. But, we could always relate to each other over a football game. Later in life, it became a reason to go “home”, a reason to call or text my friends. I always had a much better pulse on my friend group from August to January- when we text each other during game week about what would happen or game watching, and throw in stuff about engagements, marriages, weddings, divorces, pregnancies, births, jobs, achievements and the like. Relationships that go into hibernation for much of the year become normal again during the football season. It could be a reason to travel, cut loose, drink, enjoy yourself and put aside responsibilities that turn you from a normal person back into the care free life that you put aside when responsibilities became more pressing. Now- as I get older, it’s a chance to show my kids the world, build memories that will last forever etc. I always say baseball with its day to day is like background music and a soundtrack to life in that year. Football, however, acts like a calendar that marks years and seasons and the passage of time for me. I love it and getting to take my baby and last child to her first game ever was and seeing the wonder and awe in her face throughout the trip was as good as anything I’ve ever done. That’s how you turn a glorified scrimmage against a shitty ULM team into one of the best gameday experiences of my life. This is the last time anyone will ever have to indulge my navel gazing asshattery in this space. Seeing our glorious leader @immamacat the tailgate with his 4 year throwing the football was cool as he’s doing that same kind of thing. On to next week against Mississippi State as the SEC kicks off. They are terrible and we should win convincingly. Then, it’s bye and OU in Dallas which is normal UT fare. I don’t believe we will have our first “welcome to the SEC” moment until we host Georgia. Klan aggy doesn’t interest me any more than corn aggy, or dust bowl aggy ever did. But it’s coming and it’s going to be awesome. MSU game week stuff happens here. Enjoy this ride fellas. here’s my daughters first game pregame:
  8. I have nothing bad to say about Vandy. They are a fine institution of higher learning, with smart students and fans that live in the best travel city (non Austin) division in the conference. They are, I believe, the only SEC school with a winning record against us (something like 4-1 from 100 years ago) so by the end of this decade the hope would be we wipe that away while enjoying some fun trips to NashVegas to win what should be a gimme of a game. the small private school factor that annoys with Vandy is their baseball fans obnoxiously whistle. Contrast that with Baylor- where the irritation is an admin covering up systematic rape in the school. Advantage Vandy. Yesterday sucked. All that said all our goals are still in front of us. Get up off the canvas and win out and we are going to really like where we are at. Hook ‘Em.
  9. They suck, we should win convincingly.
  10. Texas v OU. The Red River Shootout. Good v evil. Class v none. Good breeding v inbreeding. Teeth privileged v toothless. 2 proud football programs. One world class institution of higher learning and one glorified community college that exists to service their football team. SEC nonsense aside, this is the game that means more. 12 schools (maybe 13?) officially consider Texas their main rival according to a poll I saw last year. Thankfully, with the move to the SEC we’ve gotten away from the majority of these no win games against second rate schools that represent nothing but potential downside. Texas considers itself to have 3 rivals, but they aren’t all created equally. Arkansas left 30 years ago and we put them on the schedule a handful of times and played them as a curiosity for the olds who wouldn’t stop blathering about royal and Broyals and Fayetnam and cousin loving and blah blah blah. Aggy left and we laughed at them when they lost eternal scoreboard, and decided never to play them again. OU though, OU is special. College football has gone through massive realignment where every school is out for themselves and 2 schools have stood out on deciding they are a package deal, Texas and OU. Both, by any metric top 8 or so programs. The richest and most envied program in America in Texas. Probably the second most accomplished (or 3rd behind Bama and maybe the Domers) in Oklahoma. We have owned them historically. They’ve probably out shined us a bit in the 21st century. But this is a series of runs. Schools rip off 4 in a row or 8 out of 10 and it serves as a spotlight for what the other school needs to do to get better. We’ve been on the bad side of that the last 15 years or so as we’ve wandered the desert. No more. This game is so important because generally the winner is national title quality. When you go on that run when you win 5 in a row or 8 out of 10 you are likely rolling and ready too dominate. Sark has 2 tasks left at Texas after acing most everything leading up to this- flip the script decisively in this series and win a national title. it says here that he will do both those things starting this year. Give em hell give em hell, OU sucks. its 8:19 in the morning and OU sucks. texas doesn’t fall into the gulf because OU sucks. hook em high like an eagle soars. Even dear old Bill in Sinton wouldn’t worry about anyone overlooking this game- it’s the one always circled in red ink.
  11. What a wonderful week of football. All eyes on Texas and we dominated. Quinn Ewers looks like a Heisman guy. This team is pretty clearly the best at Texas since 2005. Notre dame lost to a directional school. A week after beating aggy at home. So- it’s a 2-fer in schadenfreude. OU almost lost to UH, the same UH team that lost by 20 to UNLV week one. Arky lost. And got their heart ripped out doing so. The rest of our schedule (outside Georgia) is ass and my suspicion is Texas and Georgia will play 3 times to determine the 1 seed, SEC champ and College football champ. This season has been about as good as it gets so far. UTSA on the docket. We thought they might have an outside chance at the playoffs. Now, that’s might be Texas State instead after last week. PHD candidate at QB for UTSA is gone, and what was a frisky team won’t likely even be a speed bump. Arch plays a lot. We score 50 something. We allow 0-10 or something. Avoid injuries and get ready for the epic battle the next week against ULM. The SEC really needs to go to 9 games. Bunch of big talking cowards. Oh well. UTSA game week thoughts here. Hook Em high like an Eagle soars.
  12. This is what college football should be all about. 2 blue bloods squaring off in front of 100,000 people with gameday in town and the eyes of the college football nation upon our horns. this squad, I believe, is really freaking good. We are going to take it to a 1 dimensional Michigan team. Texas is going to win and it’s going to be like Ohio State in 2005 and be the platform to launch us into a pretty special season. game week thoughts and articles and commentary goes here.
  13. I have nothing unique or specific to say about Colorado State. I have no opinion on them. All I know about is what I read in @Scipio’s preview- thinking Texas football Linked here: https://sites.google.com/view/the-2023-burnt-orange-bible/home if you haven’t bought it already do so- it’s awesome and he previews every opponent in addition to awesome writing on Texas football. I do have lots of opinions on this year’s this team and this program. 1) Sark is the man. I said it before almost everyone else did- when he nailed the off-season after 5-7. I strongly suspected he would be good. When we started year 2 by playing the Alabama dynasty with a Heisman trophy winner like a peer I knew he would be good. After year 3 there’s absolutely no doubt in my mind. The only question imo is whether he maximizes his decade run like Royal with multiple championships, or if he’s snake bit like Mack brown and doesn’t fill the trophy case like be should. Because we are going to rip off double digit wins, be a playoff perennial team and get a metric shit ton of kids drafted between here and there. 2) This team is going to be awesome. I know we had 11 guys drafted last year. I set the over under at 9.5 and took the over and @Bevoand a couple other people mocked me. There was no mocking come draft day. This team is more talented at more important places. I’d setting the O/U at 13.5 and taking the over. It’s possible that we have every single starting offensive player drafted off this team. I wouldn’t expect it but I’d actually suspect 7 or 8. And, the defense just got done outplaying the offense in camp. Think about that. 3) the program is overall in great shape and the SEC move is going to be fun. I love that we have games with Michigan and Ohio State on the schedule. I’m going to be pissed off if these slack jawed yokels we share a conference with continue to be pussies and insist on an 8 game schedule. A 9 game SEC schedule, mixed with a blue blood, a decent regional team and a pay for play patsy is absolute football nirvana. Like- forget the good old days we’ve never had it this good as college football fans. Texas won’t be the game that every program circles for jihad, but we will be among more peers (such that we have any) and I expect us to be running shit in short order. Just like we have everywhere else we’ve been. But hopefully with more football titles than in the big 12. I am so happy for game week to be back. Thoughts about the season, state of the program, Colorado State or whatever else you want to talk about leading up to week 1 go here.
  14. Fresh off the biggest win in the program since beating Georgia in the Sugar Bowl, Texas plays host to Wyoming. The Horns come in ranked #4 in the country. Wyoming is 2-0 with a win over Tech. That’s probably enough to get a Big 12 invite nowadays. Look to see if Texas can continue to play to a standard that they set against Alabama. Looking forward to it- post your game week thoughts here.
  15. Well, I was super excited to go to the game as our fearless leader @immamacgot a bunch of tickets for surlyites who are interested in going to the game. Big ups to you man- let me know how you want your money and how we are doing ticket exchange! It will be my first trip to an SEC venue (I’ve been to all the SWC and Big 12 schools, plus Stanford and Cal) and playing the Gumps when they are down, early in the season where they are breaking in a new QB who can’t throw 1/2 the routes in the route tree, seemed a particularly auspicious time for me to start visiting this new and different collection of dipshits and morons we’ve aligned ourselves with. All summer long I was convinced this texas offense was gonna be awesome. I was disabused of that notion by 3:20 PM on 9/2. What a bummer of a performance that was. The defense is excellent. The special teams are special I think, in the good way, and the Bama offense looks pretty mid. Maybe we can win a 13-10 rock fight. In other news the big 12, and especially the Texas members of the big 12, covered themselves in total and complete shit yesterday with tech, Baylor and TCU all losing to double digit dogs and UH squeaking out a 3 point win over UTSA. Reap what you sow dickheads. Game week is scary. See y’all in Tuscaloosa
  16. We are giving big middle fingers to the hateful 8, the losers left behind on our get the hell out of here tour, and the next two weeks are weird- because instead of playing insignificant pissants from irrelevant places we’ve shared this dumpster fire of a conference with for 25 or so years, we are playing even more insignificant pissants that joined up because this was the best that they could do. We share some history with UH. We were incredibly happy to get the hell out of playing in a conference with them when we left the SWC, and they get to take a putative step up because we are leaving. Basically, UH sucks. I mean, occasionally they will have his football teams but it’s a second rate institution of questionable higher learning, in the ghetto, where everyone commutes to school and then heads back to their parents basement when the school day is over. They are petty and absurd dipshits who once built an erector set when their pissant stadium couldn’t accommodate more than 13 people wanting to watch a game there. Once upon a time they had groundbreaking teams, now they merely have an active lush for a coach, a shitty roster, and nothing compelling or interesting about them. guys, I’d like to spit fire here and mock and riddle them but it’s not even fun to punch that far down when you are talking about the try hard from the wrong side of the tracks that’s just a total mess. I hadn’t thought about Uh football in 30 years and I’m not about to start now. I’m choosing to treat this mentally as an insignificant non conference game against a crappy opponent and go from there.
  17. In this farewell to big 12 plains trash season I have managed to maintain a hate boner toward pretty much all the schools we are leaving behind. There are good reasons to loathe all of them as a Texas fan more or less, with one exception: Kansas. Kansas has never done anything (football) to draw my ire. We are something like eleventy hundred and 2 against them, and the couple wins they’ve got have been blessings in disguise for our program. They got Charlie Strong fired a year before I expected us to be able to fire him going into that game. Thanks for that. They beat us to send us to 5-7 in Sarks first year and I think that not going to a bowl and focusing on that offseason was helpful and clarifying for Sark. In 2004 the fat man got a little lippy and it set up one of my all time favorite memories- the utter destruction and decimation Vy laid on them when we beat an above average team like a drum- up something like 49 or 52-3 at halftime. Just one of the all time dominant performances I’ve ever seen from Texas against a team that wasn’t a paycheck game. So, Kansas I will give you the Tex treatment- good bye and good luck. y’all have my permission to dominate this collection of spares and rejects when we head on out of here. I also really like watching Kansas play. They are legitimately very good on offense. They are not good on defense. Whenever you watch a Kansas game it seems like at least 4 or 5 times you will see a receiver (could be either teams) running across the middle without a defender within view of the TV screen. It’s great and fun. We need to bring our A game. This feels like the most likely game we could lose left on the schedule if we sleepwalk through it and bad stuff happens, due to the quality offense they have. Game Week starts now. Hook ‘Em.
  18. 5-0 bitches. First time since 2009. we’ve been using these posts to mock and ridicule the losers we are leaving behind and basically tell them how much they suck. We can’t give OU that treatment because they have grafted themselves onto us and moved in lockstep with us because that’s where their bread is buttered. We keep them around, I suppose, for the same reason every girl has a fat friend- to look better by comparison. They suck. They have always sucked. They always will suck. It is known. But this year- they are a fraud and a paper tiger. I can’t tell you how enjoyable it will be to sodomize them with a red hot fire poker (dipped and fried at the fair naturally) and watch their men and children cry and their women strike the surrender cobra pose, over and over, as the game gets worse and worse. We win by 3 scores. This is probably only the 4th best team we will play this regular season. Enjoy hate week for those of you who are simple and not good at life. I never take a day off from hating OU.
  19. After an uneven (to be kind) performance against the Wyoming Cowboys (Maybe better than we thought) and a non conference schedule that finished 3-0 for the first time since Anthony Hill was 6, the Longhorns get to the part we’ve been waiting for intently for 3 years. We are about to haul ass from this meth infested, mobile home park located in a desolate, plain-scape wasteland, and take our retarded sister fucking step-cousins with us, to a nicer, southern (and Missouri) hicks from the sticks made good bedroom community. before we go there’s some goodbyes that need to be said and smooth buttfuckings that need to be handed out. Baylor, I can’t say I will miss your cat (and basketball player) killing, rape enabling faux Baptist culture. Take your toilet bowl on the river with its seats covered every time texas isn’t in town and shove them up your fucking asses. 100 years of playing you was 99 too many. I won’t miss a thing about that dump you call a city nor your fake pious $70,000 private school 13th grade. You get the privilege of being the first road kill in the 2023 Texas “Embrace The Hate” decimation of this shit hole you call home. BOHICA bitches and fuck off. Game thoughts and articles and stuff here.
  20. Well, here it is, the final edition of the scheduled regular season tour where we shove it up the asses of the irate 8 who got left behind Texas currently has scoreboard on every single team in the conference (that’s staying here) other than Texas Tech and Oklahoma State. We get the chance to avenge last years loss on the way out the door and leave this series exactly where it belongs for all time, with us wiping our shit smeared dick on their face after we finish fucking them up the ass. The last couple weeks I’ve had a hard time working up any animosity toward TCU and Iowa State because they are so irrelevant to us, who we are as a program and college football in general. Tech, however, has earned a lifetime of hatred and scorn from me. They blew our chance to win the big 12 in Ricky’s senior season, then another chance in 2002, and finally wrecked our national championship dreams in 2008. We cannot go out like bitches and let them screw up important stuff on our agenda. All those scenarios happened in Lubbock and most of them when Tech had a better team than they do this year. We always take care of them in Austin when we have the slightest bit of an inclination to play hard and focused. I’d say we have more than that going on in our favor this week. Tech is a second rate program in a third rate town with a loudmouth high school coach with a low IQ and a propensity for drunk driving. So, sure, he’d fit in around here just fine, I guess, but let’s go ahead and monkey stomp them and then never have to see, hear, play or think of them again. Y’all were cool when you had Mike Leach and then fucked that up in the dumbest way possible only to go back to your historical norm of being uninterested, uninspiring and unsurprisingly mediocre. Game Week notes here fellas. Hook ‘Em High like an Eagle soars and have a happy thanksgiving.
  21. Well, it’s been a long run and it ended the only way it could have- with the only big 12 team to have scoreboard on us. They suck. We should rectify that. By a lot. We either win by 31 or by 3, but either way, we are lots better than them. Someone on here said something about a month ago and I thought about it and decided- they are right. Basically, Texas just needs one team ahead of them to lose. And there were like 23 events that could happen. 23 team parleys never come through. So, I started betting money lines every week on the following teams in a parley: Georgia, FsU, Ohio State, Michigan, Oregon, Washington and Bama. Right now I’ve won 3 weeks in a row. Thats like 19 events in a row. We are down to 4 bets we can make for my emotional hedge- a 4 teammer with Washington, FSU, Michigan and Georgia. If those 4 all win we will be something like 23 out of 23 in events, any one of which happening, could have probably put Texas in the CFP or at least made it arguable that we should be in. So, fuck you Florda for taking your shot and missing. Thanks for not returning the great favor we did for you in 1996. Double fuck you Oregon state- you had a chance to take down 2 of those guys. And you Penn Stste. You should be embarrassed to consider yourselves a helmet school after you let Michigan literally run all over you. Kiffin and Tennessee, yall are both frauds, couldn’t even keep Georgia interested. Whatever. It looks for all the world like we are going to go 12-1 in the first year ever that we have 4 “better” conference champs and the last year ever for only 4 playoff teams. On some level that will be hard to accept, but hopeful that the team goes out there, kicks ass and wins by half a hundred again and gives us the best chance to win the stupid beauty pageant and go ahead of Oregon or Bama if one or both of them win. Or, we could all root for a shitty Iowa team that couldn’t score if locked in a whorehouse or a Louisville team that couldn’t beat an also ran Mark Stoops team. Fuck you tech- how my ass taste? Fuck you Yormark, hope you liked being clowned on our Jumbotron. We coming for you Gundy, one last game to have collective scoreboard forever (conference champs) and individual scoreboard forever on every team in this shit ass conference, forever. Game Week fellas, news, notes etc here.
  22. Well, we just finished up most of a wildly successful year. We went into Bama and buttfucked them to the tune of a 10 point win when we had the ball for the last 8 minutes and clowned them when they couldn't stop us on the ground after we threw all over their ass when they thought they could cover us straight up. Would have been 17 points if we wanted it to be. Could have been 28 if we didn't drop 2 TD's and an interception. Then, we literally laid waste to the big 12. We now have scoreboard on every single team left in that shit ass conference and we got to boo Yormark off the stage while ironically chanting SEC SEC SEC at those fucking left behind dipshits. I'm going to pretend, for the sake of happiness that the last 78 seconds of the OU game didn't happen. Lets agree to never speak of that again. Basically, what it boils down to is Texas is pretty likely the best team in the country, we have a great offensive mind for a head coach that's awesome when he gets plenty of time to prepare, a loaded roster and the best team we've had in 15 years (this team is better than 09) while being headed into an SEC that we are going to skullfuck. But first, we lay waste to Washington on January 1, 2024 in the Sugar Bowl, before going ahead and likely taking care of Bama in Reliant Stadium in Houston. Game week notes and threads and thoughts and the like go here. Hook Em high like an eagle soars!
  23. Welp, here we go, the team to me that epitomizes all that was ever right (and wrong) about the big 12 as a conference. The Kansas Stare Wildcats. They play out in the middle of nowhere. Nobody, nationally, has ever given a shit about them, and nobody ever will. Their mascot looks so second rate that most high schools in Texas would be embarrassed to trot it out. Because of their status as a basically grown up junior college in the sticks, Bill Synder made hay recruiting actual functionally illiterate mercenaries doing hard time in the plains, and brought them to Kansas State to terrorize campus, the entire concept of higher education, and opposing schools. They have had runs of high quality where they were national contenders. They have hired really good coaches a couple times that made them a tough out. Somehow, Ron Prince ran their program into the dirt and they still beat us a couple times. For a while they were our only conference mate to have an all time winning record against us which was galling, but now that we’ve beaten them 6 times in a row we probably own the overall series record, though I can’t be bothered enough to go and look it up. I will, like 98% of college football fans, never spend another second thinking about KState or watching anything associated with them after we separate from their glorified JUCO ass, but congrats to them on becoming almost relevant a couple different times nationally during the Big 12 era, I guess. Now take the loss to make 7 in a row and fuck right off Also- RIP fatty fat fat. Hope you are enjoying that great juco in the sky man.
  24. So, here it is. We are trying to land this plane with one engine on fire, the landing gear light not working and maybe the pilot thinking about how much he needs his next drink. This would be pretty dire but for one fact- we are playing TCU. When I was at UT from 1996-1999 the saying used to be- TCU, where the girls are girls and the guys are too. Relax zoomers, nobody really meant anything hateful by it- it was different time and place. I think, though, that was probably about the only time I ever heard anyone say anything about TCU. And why not? They were totally and completely irrelevant and unimportant to us in every way. A quick throw away tagline of mockery once in a blue moon. Then something important changed. They joined the big 12, beat us a couple times and became a hated rival. Just kidding, no. They are still a total and complete irrelevancy that nobody ever bothers thinking about outside of “wonder when they are going to announce the fucking gametime” and wonder when some asshole is going to post the pictures of all the ridiculously hot ass running around that campus in Fort Worth that I will mentally file away into my spank bank. Not because I have those thoughts personally of course, but I know @Brisketexan does. Yeah. It’s definitely him that thinks about TCU in that second way. One more game (hopefully) that we have to grit through with a slightly less than desirable QB situation and a slightly less than desirable OL health situation, and a slightly less than desirable RB health situation and missing our best safety and and and. This team is beat up. It’s a good thing TCU sort of sucks (I guess - again back to my point about irrelevancy) this year and even with that mash unit we should be able to beat them. So TCU, in summation, I will muster up, even if just barely, enough care to tell you to fuck off and I will be glad when you don’t even occupy 1 week of mindshare for me.
  25. Honestly, I’d love to make a bunch of jokes about sister wives and yada yada yada, but I am just emotionally empty from some personal stuff and the Texas football team, even out off a bye, looks too banged up to play well, while our worst fear about the staff seems to be coming true. grim. I will say this about BYU: we have posters on this website from all universities all over the country. And, I think we genuinely like most of those posters. They are good people and bring awesome stuff to this board. Except BYU. Those guys all suck and are cunts. Game week stuff goes here. Let’s not lose to a bunch of old white guys.
