Learned a new tune last night. Fairly well known song. Turns out it only has 1 chord. Never had that happen yet that I recall. Anyone want to venture a guess?

Hint- it does alternate some between the 7th and the minor of the one chord.

doesn't "something in the way" by nirvana just alternate between E minor and C7?

or do you mean it is literally just one chord tonic?  like E minor and E7?

I'm trying to think of songs where the chorus is the same as the verse.  "Run Through The Jungle"?  I'm not sure it's fair to call it "one chord" but it does pretty much sit on the D root.

Chain of Fools

Yep.

There’s a bass line that moves but the tonality of the song just moves between C7 and Cm.

It’s really the vocal that makes that song. Turns out Aretha is pretty good.

Talk me out of a Wildwood 914CE Taylor...I've it in my head they're too bright. The right white dog is telling me the 28 is just fine.

Don’t do it.

Don’t do it.

Don't.  Do it.

Do it.

Do it!

DO IT!

Put a PA, a midi drum set, a keyboard and a universal audio ox on my Sweetwater wishlist.  I’ve got enough guitars, but having a “homeschool of rock” setup for my kids would be cool.

Sorry can’t help you. I have a buddy who plays a 714 Taylor and it sounds glorious. I’m sure the 9 is even better.

I know this is the guitar thread, but it's stupid that the amp and pedal thread aren't rolled in with this one.

Anyway, I'll let Andy tell you about what I did.

Look who found her forever home today.

Alamo Music really hooked me up. Also, did not realize they are the #1 Taylor distributor in the country. Must be all of those YouTube videos.

I like it, what media was used? It reminded me of Roger Dean’s cover art for Uriah Heep’s The Magicians Birthday.

Why would this 1970 Gibson J45 for $1850 be hanging around on Reverb for 5 months?  New ones list for  $2749 on Sweetwater.  Cheapest on EBay is a 2014 for $2395.  Next cheapest on Reverb is a 1969 for $2995.

Heh, if it’s been listed for around $2k on reverb for 5 months, not sure it’s going to be a #bogeyflip.  More likely a #goredhoflop.

70’s Norlin era Gibson’s just aren’t as collectible and valuable as earlier vintage. Gibson made some changes to the J45 around 1969 that included square shoulders vs slope and some feel these are also overbraced compared to earlier J45s.
