The RAT pedal defines The Koffs sound. Our guitar player has a pile of old RAT pedals and everything he does goes through one.

The thing RAT defines about me is the kind of titties i like.

Flathead screws at that

Yeah, headstock from the one coming.

There's grain. That pic just doesn't show it very well

When I first got my 52 AV, that neck used to cramp my hand up.  I switched to 9.5s and everything just worked after that.  It was that nice light yellow "butterscotch" and has, over the last seven years, darkened noticeably.  These look killer! Enjoy!

Thanks. I have not read a bad thing about them. That neck is fat. It damn near just runs level with the back of the headstock. Very comfortable.

Classic.  Which model is that again, and year?

It the Vintera II Nocaster. The Vintera II line came out last year.

My Wildwood NoCaster (51 CS RI IIRC) neck is fat, wasn't sure I'd like it but got over it quickly.

Super nice. Congrats. I need to find one in a store here in Austin to try that neck.  I bought an early 90’s MIJ 54 Reissue Strat recently with a chunky V neck and love that. Pretty sure I’d like this one too.

They show one in stock at the South Austin location.

Ha, thanks. I'm pretty stoked with most of the colors we picked out. Our bedroom in particular I'm really happy with.

Sweet.  Year?  How's the refurb Les Paul treating you?

My Deluxe? It's a '63. I posted it either in this thread or the amp thread awhile back, I got it year before last I think.

The LP is sweet, Brandon did such a marvelous job of setting it up. I will probably play it more now I have one of my amps on hand.

Ok - and stupid guitar strap question. On a buckle strap like this right here, if I want it to be shorter than the hole at the end of the main strap (that hole right there near the neck pickup), I should just remove the buckle and extra bit of strap altogether and open up that next hole up on the main strap enough to fit over the strap button? Or is there some trick to using the buckle where it can go shorter than that?

Favorite telecaster pups - go!

So many. Haha.

Honestly, my favorite so far are the ones they made specifically for my Strummer Tele. I don't know. They sound just sound right to my ear. Fender sells them separately now and I'm thinking of picking up a set for a project tele I have.

I assume your new one has 51 nocasters?

I need to replace the noiseless pickups in my ash tele because I’ve decided I hate them but I don’t want to sell the guitar. But I have the Isbell, which I think has basically a twisted tele in the neck and one based on his 65 tele. So I’m trying to figure out a good set but I don’t really know what i want. Ones that sound more teleish than the noiseless ones. Whatever Sturgill had last night.

The new one does not have the 51 Nocasters. Fneder says the are 50's style.

They sound great though and not much different than the Tele I had with the three Nocaster 51 pickups. Well, at least the bridge since there was no neck pickup to compare with.

The ones the put in the American Standards from 88--early 90.  I bought the 51 nocasters for my Wildwood 52 AV and like them much better than the Twisted Tele pickups that came with it (the neck TT is too straty).  But the nocasters are their own thing.  Kind of dark and gnarly.  Rock machines.  The pickups in my 64 AV are bright and chimey.  They're what you think of when you think Tele.  The ones in my 90 Standard are somewhere in between and lean a bit toward the 64.  But they really are their own thing.

I've posted this video before, but here are the 64 AV pickups.

Yeah I think the TT neck being more strat sounding is their thing. Whatever I stick in the blonde tele I’ll probably want a more traditional neck pup, although I do like the mix on the Isbell tele a lot.

Virgil Arlo's in a Deluxe Tele that went down the road for stupid money. But the Nocaster's custom shop hand wounds sound every bit as good as the Arlos

Speaking of Teles, the old fellers at Firefly have been slowly improving their knockoffs.

This is the second round of this George Harrison rosewood Tele that they’ve done. The body has a rosewood veneer (likely) of manmade rosewood from real stuff & glue.

Here’s the link, though they may sell out soon. There isn’t any tax, but shipping is ~$27 for their guitars from the LA area to anywhere in the continental 🇺🇸 only.

There was no note regarding pistachio green pants and a Harrison knockoff.

What I have read is that the last round of the Harrison’s was fairly heavy (I think > 8.5 lbs) and someone else wrote that it looks a bit fake up close. You’re not going to think that it’s solid rosewood, but…

They are in signature knockoff territory these days.

This was  someone’s signature guitar…IMG_2613.thumb.jpeg.786eaf7ebc98a8d913b6619d33b02406.jpeg

It came and went in a few hours, though they sometimes hold some back until the next day (~4am Central Time) to put some more out so that someone doesn’t buy 10+ and then sell them on eBay

They also have some red striped things near the Harrison
