That faded candy apple red Strat is very nice.  I played a '66 up in Seattle once that was faded LPB.  It felt/sounded like a Pre-CBS to me except for the danged headstock.  Not sure when they went over to poly over nitro though.  This was definitely a nitro guitar.

A transparent finish Lucille doesn’t seem right. She was always a more modest lady.

Agreed, it’s kind of a weird tribute/signature model.  I wanna know who is going to buy that for $7000.

Yeah seems a legacy/tribute to one of the most famous “named” guitars in history should, ya know, at least be the same color as that guitar, right?

daughter's birthday is coming up.  Was prepared to spend $550 or so on a similar Fender I got the boy a few yrs back.  Same type of guitar is now $850.  Good grief...

Can anyone tell what chord voicings Bruce is playing here? I tried for a few min yesterday but couldn’t quite get it. Sounds like maybe they’re in A#m vs original key of Fm.

Also can’t quite make out if he has the capo on 1 or 2

This thread gets more traffic so I’ll post here. Have a opportunity to buy this. One sold on eBay for 1300. He wants 1000 I told him 750. Should I grab this? I already have a single rec. he said it’s never been to a show or bar. He had a stroke that left him unable to play. I know everyone will say buy buy buy but do I need one of these with a single rec? The one I have isn’t a road king…

For that price, you could easily flip it if you didn’t like it.

I have to say, though, my experience with my Lone Star has been great at home, but I'm still trying to work out getting what I want out of it in the field.  There are so many damn options that it's at both times thrilling and overwhelming.  I get great live dirty tones.  I mean, the best I've ever played out.  It's great.  But when I try to switch between clean/dirty I've still not found the right volume/tone settings.  It goes from perfect dirt to muddy clean.  But I suspect this is an issue with my brain adapting to the amp rather than an issue with the amp.

It sounds to me like he's playing the A, D, and maybe G strings of an Am shape with the capo on the 1st fret, then moving to a C shape.

Shipped the Supro Black Magick back to Supro via FedEx Ground on Friday. Somehow got delivered on Monday. Just got notification from FedEx that a return shipment is heading this way. Guessing they just replaced it.

I have a Gator mandolin case like this that I got in a pawn shop buy years ago.546108000000000-00-2000x2000.jpg

It came with an Ibanez electrified A-style mandolin that was just too cheap to pass up. I already had a Fender A-style and after comparing I decided I liked the Fender better and sold the Ibanez on eBay without case. I made a profit on the mandolin alone and the case was worth about $60 new at the time, and now they're a C-note.

Time to either sell the case or buy an f-style mandolin that will look cool but probably won't get played. Hmmmm....

Alright I’ve been playing a round with this. I think I get what the bgs play but his voicing still seems weird. You maybe be right if he’s playing in Am instead of Em.

I listened again . . . that "Stayin' Alive" cover is filthy.  Well done, Boss.

Yes it is. Played it for my duo partner last night and she was like wow can you sing it like that?

Uh, no, that’s why he’s Bruce fn Springsteen. But we’re working on something.

So, I just discovered my 50's Classic Players Strat, which in the 4th position has neck and bridge pups together, and I thought was neck and middle in the hidden position is actually all 3 pickups together.

By chance are you using one of these?

I need some assistance from the Telecaster hive mind. I am possibly dipping my toe back into the 6 string realm for dorking around at the house. May even resume some lessons etc. I have normal sized hands (not small or stubby bear paws). Any thoughts on 7.5 vs 9.5 radius? C vs U vs V profiles. I have my eye on a few and would like some perspective likes/dislikes. etc.

Current contenders:

I would go with 1&2, or maybe 2&3.  Then A/B them until you finally decide you want to keep both before going back out to get that third one you really need.

There is also this.....

My initial thought was stick with C shape and 9.5 radius. However, some of the top contenders are 9.5 with a Soft V or 7.5 with a C shape.

I can try out a few locally, but not all. I know that necks are very personal preference, just wanted to get a few trusted opinions before jumping in.
