He's pretty open about his gear, and he claims that he plays the replica in some shows.

He's got a red-eye replica too, and he often plays that, but red-eye is worth a fucking fortune.

Did he buy the Ed King LP?  I'm sure I saw that somewhere.  Probably here.

I’ve been kinda thinking of replacing my tele at some point. The one i have is fine but isn’t special. I might get curious. The Isbell one doesn’t have a big dumb signature on it somewhere does it?

here's your answer (the video starts at the correct time)

I've always had two nevers when it came to teles: no sunburst and no bound bodies.  But I must say, that's a damned good looking tele.

I don't mind the sunburst, but I'm with you on binding.  That said, I agree -- it's a good looking guitar.

I like it on Strats and Les Pauls, but for some reason, I prefer solid colors on Teles.

Weird. My 2nd favorite looking electric guitar of all time is a bound sunburst tele. True story.

Yeah.  I'm not trying to start a movement or anything.  But I likes what I likes.  Still, that one above is Mi-T-Fine

If I have any quibble with that guitar, it's that I'm not a fan of black pick guards over sunbursts.  But that's like a "which is better? Chocolate or vanilla?" kind of argument.

I'm starting to think a black oyster pickguard on a black Tele would look 100% kickass.

A double-bound pastel 60's Tele is one of the most beautiful guitars in the world.

I need to sell our snoo start my new job and sell my old telecaster. I’m talking myself into this. Might need to find it locally though, this might be a covert buy.

Wondering what a “snoo” is.

I may be in the market for a snoo.

EDIT- if this is a “snoo”, I am not in the market.

Yes. Yes you do.

What did you have in mind?

It really is absurd that I don’t have a good traditional Strat. I have an American HH that I’ve had since the 90s, and I have the Squier that I picked up on one of those Fender fire sales for next to nothing but it’s not as easy to play as the HH. Out of seven electrics it’s the only one with single coils, and yet nearly all the big Strat players are my heroes and influences.

Every time I really think about getting one I get into analysis paralysis.

Wanna buy my 1999 Fender American Vintage 1957 spec?  I would be willing to make you a Surly friends deal.  It’s a killer example of a vintage spec strat.  Made in the USA, Nitro, glassy 57/62 pups, etc…. Offer is open to anyone here.

This was recorded with it if you want to know what it sounds like.

57/62's are the best Strat pups, IMO.
