I think people who do that to their kids that young are assholes.

it's better than having him sit in front of a tv, playing video games all day. even if he doesn't "make it", i'm sure this type of discipline and work-ethic will carry over to other parts of his life.

Yeah, there's no middle ground between the two.

No kidding, the kid has to literally practice in his father’s shadow.

Not all kids doing things like that are being forced to. Some kids actually have a passion for something and are merely supported by the parents. Unfortunately, we see far too many cases where the parents are living through their child.

You say that like he presented an extreme. Outside of school, that's a pretty common lifestyle for many children.

Todd Marinovich posts here as Sydney Carton. His dad posts here as closetojumping.

thats who I was trying to think of. the dad wouldnt let the kid eat mcdonalds and other crazy shit like that. Dude got to the league, threw off dads influence and went to shit.

nothing wrong with building a work ethic into kids, but not letting them be kids is whatll destroy them.

Lets hope Cards dad let him be a kid outside the grind

It's up to how the kid is wired, if a kid want to always be outside playing ball and you can afford the training...train away. If mom/dad are they ones driving training for that schollie, good luck.

I had friends who were out playing baseball whenever the sun was up. from 1st grade on. they lived for it. no parent in sight. they knew the teams and the players. and practiced all aspects of the game. I stopped hanging out with this one kid cus I wasnt into baseball, and thats all he wanted to do.

it can come from the kid.

Dad should be completely ignoring the kid a spending his hard earned money on booze and women. That’s what made America great!

Stupid sip, if you are going to ignore your kids, it should be to catch the games of HS football recruits for the greater good of Aggieland. #TrustTheGOAT

Some kids are driven. Some are pushed. Either way, NOBODY is using video of my 8 year old kid to market his training business.

Hey, if my 8 year old kid gets paid (in secret of course /ncaa) and can use his hard earned money instead of mine, all the better.

His junior hudl looks great. I have no problem with top ten

Branard Wright is the most questionable one. The state is loaded with DL, and he's the only one in the top 100?

Is Jake Majors going to be 2020's highly rated Texas recruit who just can't ignore the "allure of Stanford"?

That's the word

Hopefully Lindberg isn't another

Have you heard much about Darius Snow and Michigan State? I know his dad played there.

Not much more than his dad and uncle played there. He seems attainable for Texas.

Feel free to dispute some or add more, but prospects who appear to be natural Texas leans or have some built in connections

Card and Parr are already in
Ringo- this one seems to be trending well, everyone knows who his position coach is, and Smith and Liebrock can't hurt
Dixon- Keaontay's brother
Cooper- loves Texas, Marcus Washington's teammate
Garth- Don't think Roschon will let this kid go anywhere
Lindberg- brother goes to Texas, mom loves Texas (although she also might love Stanford and like A&M)
Collins- mom played basketball at Texas, goes to school in the Austin suberbs
Thompson & Jackson- Samples connection
Jones- Sterns should help here
Jordan- seems to like Texas early
Snow- seems to like Texas early
Umanmielen- seems to like Texas early
Johnston- Wiley should help here, assuming we offer in time
Demas- who knows, but maybe Shepherd helps if he makes it to campus?

Dorbah- Highland Park kid should be favorable to Texas, right?

Great info. Where do you think we look for linebackers? I've noticed only three have been offered, and they're all elite out of state prospects. I've watched film on a few of the in state guys, and I think Josh White (Cy Creek) looks like a quality prospect.
