We do not post pictures of Kate because she is inarguably the hottest woman on the internet. She is a higher power who blessed us in our darkest time and we now pay homage and make sacrifices in the form of fatwa’ing imbeciles who do not appreciate her (and @RomaVicta posts whatever he can to make her smile) and in return she brings us recruiting fortune.

This is exactly right...as it regards Kate, it matters not what you may think is silly or superstitious or whatever...I am reminded of Bull Durham, a classic film among olds of my general age (I was 11 when it was released), and Crash Davis's logic applies here:

I told him that a player on a streak has to respect the streak. You know why? Because they don't - -they don't happen very often. If you believe you're playing well because you're getting laid, or because you're not getting laid, or because you wear women's underwear, then you ARE! And you should know that!

In another scene, he more succinctly summarizes the same sentiment:

Never fuck with a winning streak.

Rivals and ESPN have Broughton as the 11th- and 12th-ranked prospect in the state, respectively. 247Sports has him languishing at #40.

Pretty big discrepancy. He has a lot of room to move up depending on when/if 247Sports course-corrects.

Mike Roach: Check-in notes from UA Dallas

—Texas offensive line commit Jake Majors was pretty excited about the offensive line class coming together in Austin. Majors was one of the early commits in the class, and he’s been a very vocal recruiter. Majors said the class is working on Chad Lindberg and Damieon George to fill out their group, and they know they are on the verge of something special. Majors also spent some time working on Prince Dorbah before the camp. The two have known each other for a while and played against each other in middle school. Majors measured 6-foot-3, 295 pounds, and he looks incredibly solid in his lower body.

—Speaking of Prince Dorbah, the Highland Park defensive end is looking more like an outside linebacker by the day. Dorbah lost some weight during the basketball season, and he measured at 6-foot-2, 210 pounds. Dorbah said that Texas is the school recruiting him the hardest right now, and he loves the relationship he has with Oscar Giles and Tom Herman. Dorbah isn’t focusing on recruiting until basketball season is over. Texas appears to be at the front of this recruitment right now, but Oklahoma and Oklahoma State loom as threats.

—Another player who made no secret that Texas is high on his list was Duncanville safety Chris Thompson. The four-star prospect told some reporters that Texas was his leader in-state, but he clarified that comment with me by saying they are high up, but he doesn’t have an official list at this time. Texas A&M was a one-time favorite to land him, but it sounds like the Aggies are dropping out of the race for him. Thompson plans to make a return to Austin during the spring.

—Tulsa (Okla.) Booker T. Washington wide receiver Javian Hester raved about his visit to Austin for junior day. He loved the environment at Texas and connected with Drew Mehringer. Hester wants to return to Austin this spring for a visit, and he said that Texas will most definitely get an official visit from him.

—West Mesquite running back Ty Jordan is keeping things pretty open, but he mentioned that Texas has done a good job of pitching a “forty-year decision” to him. Jordan likes the personal development aspect of the Texas program, and he would love to play with a back like Zach Evans. Jordan is pretty open at this point, but Texas is pitching him on playing a hybrid running back/slot role.

—2021 Duncanville offensive lineman Savion Byrd visited Austin for junior day last week. Byrd is soft spoken, and he mentioned he was overwhelmed by the process so far. Byrd said he could tell that Herb Hand is a great coach from their film segments, and he’s looking forward to returning to Texas.

—Hazen (Ark.) athlete Blayne Toll has had some contact with Derek Warehime, and he’s hoping Texas puts an offer on the table. Toll would like to visit Austin if an offer was put on the table, and he can play either tight end or defensive end.

247 is scheduled to release their new rankings on Wednesday, I’d expect many of our prospects to make big jumps including:

Collins currently 33rd in state

Bryson Washington 48th

Umanmielen 68th

Eaton NR (will get a composite score once this happens)

Majors looks good in both of those vids.  Appears to anchor well.  Barnard Wright didn't get past Majors, but Wright did push Majors back into the pylon.

Prince Dorbah can MOVE, lol.  He may be moving down the rankings, but he looks like a player to me.

I think he might be #1 on my list

Prince Dorbah has an inside move, he has an outside move, he's got a swim move, and he BLOWS BY defenders, lol.

I guess he's moved down the rankings because he looks ever so slightly light in weight.  Still, the young man can move.  All he does is beat every defender placed in front of him.

Yeah, Dorbah's a definite take, lol.

I mean, Wright collapsed the pocket in both of those reps. I don't get how Majors looks good if he's getting pushed into the QBs backside in less than 2 seconds. Interior pressure is often more about collapsing the pocket early and forcing the QB out of the pocket than it is about the DT getting sacks.

Dorbah being 6'2'' is more the concern than his weight. He's a b-backer all the way.

The noise regarding rankings for Dorbah is to be ignored. He’s a b-backer at Texas and he’ll be excellent.

I wonder if Omeire will run something better than a 4.8 today at this camp?

It’s going to be interesting to see if Texas finds a pure speed WR for the outside in this class. Is there one in-state? Doesn’t look like it.

These drills are always skewed towards the DL

Yeah I'm not knocking Majors. He just didn't win those reps. I hardly even watch those videos (no offense, appreciate you posting them, I just don't put a ton of stock into camps) but wanted to see how Wright did considering how much this board knocks him.
