Per Wells, Sylvester is visiting A&M this weekend

Looks like we let A&M get a head start on likely the best DL, and maybe defensive prospect, in the state for 2020

Herman and staff visited Newton in January. Sylvester has been very pro-Texas to people around him. Having said that, the 2018 kids from Newton have had some questionable guys around them and their recruitment, specifically T. Brown, has been dicey because of it so there's probably going to be some moderation.

Ro is going to take every single FAST kid to A&M. He's not getting that Adidas money to NOT bring them to A&M.

I thought it was just coincidence that Jimbo visited the 3Stripe Life Houston brand ambassador ASAP...

Yep, EJ crystal balled him to aggy today (which don't mean anything this early).  Hope we don't fool around to long on this one.

Losing Leal and if Sylvester does commit, fuck those are two tough ones to see go aggie. Lets hope he does not commit but selecting to attend a players thrown party vs our staffs event is not a good sign.

Well he does have an offer from them and not from us. It's on our staff to trust their evals.

2020 is sooooo far away. It’s not ideal, but I got a hunch the way 2018 and 2019 seasons play out will shake some things up with that class.

Maybe. But why take the fucking risk? Evaluations are great, but some players are obvious takes when they're 16 years old. You don't have to play from behind in every recruitment. I understand this staff is selective in their offers, and are trying to give meaning to a UT offer, but at the same time, particularly on DL where we have struggled in 2019, maybe see if you don't have to be behind the 8 ball in the 2020 class as well.

4-Star DB Nehki Meredith Visiting Texas
– Super K

2020 4-star defensive back, Nekhi Meredith (Virginia Beach, VA) is in the state of TX this week and will be visiting a few of the in-state schools. I spoke with Meredith recently and he told me he visited  Texas A&M earlier this week.

He will then visit Texas on Saturday. Followed by a visit to TCU on Monday.

Meredith holds early offers from schools like FSU, Texas A&M, Tennessee, Virginia Tech and host of others. Watching his film, it’s not hard to see why. He gets downhill like a safety but has the real twitch and speed to play corner.

Nehki says he is unlikely to ultimately stay in his home state of Virginia for college. Early in the process, he has his eyes on Tennessee which he’s visited multiple times or playing in TX or FL.

I’d imagine he will pick up an offer from Texas this weekend but we will confirm after the visit.

Quick Hitter | 2020 QB Visiting
– Will Baizer

– While we have already reported that 2020 QB Malik Hornsby will be visiting on July 27th, he just confirmed the report on Twitter…

Many were saying that he could be headed to College Station this weekend. This recruiting battle between Texas and Texas A&M looks like it could heat up even more. Texas has won this round.

IT 2020 visitors list

STARS AT NIGHT

The Stars at Night recruiting event returns tonight and almost half of the Class of 2019 will be in attendance.

There will be some top 2020 offers/targets too. And the 2021 prospects are legit.

Tonight should be fun. Joe and Eric will be there to speak with recruits after the event. Media will not be allowed to attend.

2020

QB Malik Hornsby, Austin (Houston, TX): Return of the Malik. This recruitment started out slow and steady....then BOOM. This will be an interesting recruitment to watch to say the least.

RB Ty Jordan, West Mesquite (Mesquite, TX): The perfect RB2 - 5'8, 185, 4.35 (40). He really likes Stan Drayton but name me a HS running back that doesn't.

WR Zeriah Beason, Bishop Dunne (Dallas, TX): The little brother of Marquez, Zeriah might be the better athlete with a little less dog.

WR Marvin Mims, Lone Star (Frisco, TX): Visited Texas for the pull party. He has the look of an offer for ZWR.

OL Cedric Melton, Klein Cain (Houston, TX): Melton is yet to yield an offer, but is being courted by many P5 schools and might end up at defensive end in college.

DE Braedon Nutter, Tomball Memorial (Tomball, TX): The 6-foot-3, 285-pounder holds one offer - Colorado. He might be a better guard prospect.

CB Lorando Johnson, Lancaster (Lancaster, TX): The best athlete at a program known for great athletes. A definite take at cornerback for Texas for 2020.

CB Jaylon Jones, Steele (Cibolo, TX): One of UT's top targets for 2020, Jones could play corner or safety at any school. If he keeps growing, he might be a rover.

S Jarrie Spikes, Cypress Creek (Houston, TX): The junior DB has speed in spades.

S Bryson Washington, C.E. King (Houston, TX): One of the nation's top defensive backs for 2020 is back in H-town. He likes the Horns. UT is doing well building this relationship. Wish we could see how he moves.

ATH Kelvontay Dixon, Carthage (Carthage, TX): Keaontay's little bro isn't so lil'. Close to double-digit offers for the two-way stud. CB, nickel, safety, or slot, just get him on the field. Missed most of last season due to injury.

Dylan Wright's high school and 7v7 teammate.

Also Drayton seems to have his RB recruiting board already set up and ready to execute on, while Giles has 2-3 lifelong Texas fans who are obvious DL offers and just... nada.
